43:50 This was my favorite moment in one of my favorite matches. Keys just smiling at that 2nd serve ace like "what are you gonna do?"
It’s pretty strange how in this match, Keys was the more accomplished player than Osaka, having made numerous semis and the final at the US Open this previous year. Yet, the biggest difference between Osaka and Keys is that Osaka thrives on the biggest stage while Keys, time and time again, had struggled to bring her best tennis on the biggest stage. Since this match, Naomi has gone on to win this tournament and 3 more grand slam tournaments, and has really become the best player on the tour with her game and improved mental game over the last couple of years. Still believe Madison has a chance to win a slam, when she plays well, her game is pretty much unstoppable. She has the talent to win and hopefully she will win a slam one day.
This was such a breakthrough win for Osaka, beating Keys for the first time in her career. I’m still impressed with how she managed to save 13 of 13 break points.
Keys is the Queen of Unforced Errors
Key need to improve her mental strength and level of desire to win, put more enthusiasm on her play. Mental strength is very2 important.

Not strange at all. Osaka is far more talented with better technique, Keys just hits as hard as she can and prays it lands in.

I was watching this on livestream. I’m an Osaka fan, but I sympathized with Keys when she showed emotions at 43:59, 49:28, and 01:04:27. I can tell that she was counting on this tournament and was facing huge pressure during this match.

I agree. Although, they did upload Stosur vs Serena and that has Serena’s little argument with the umpire calling her “unattractive inside”.
But that happened on a changeover, so maybe they edited that out.

Madison is a talented player but she lacks the stamina and fitness which is vital to be a champion. If she can overcome that she will be great.

Whag I saw in this match and although i clearlg find osaka a better player than Serena when they play each other ..... with keys I dont see osaka superior. The match seemed totally on keys racket here and not even once did I feel osaka was dominating . She just kept the ball in kept thr pace decent and let keys make the fuckups . In thr final osaka outplayed Serena and there I saw the talent. In this match yo me it was all keys . Yet its best she reached the finals . Keys wouldn't last Serena às she can'tbe consistent and powerful at the same time like Serena
