Man oh man, that giant ring factory was AMAZING...The quenching areas and furnaces were insanely HUGE! Thanks for not using stupid crappy music...The sounds of the factories is much more interesting...

Re: Machining the rail wheels - Does the now smaller size of the wheels matter, as they machined off some of the wheels diameter obviously?

Not much. The wheels are measured before fitting to the train and the diameter entered into the train control and monitoring system so that speed and distance covered may be calculated and braking systems correctly calibrated. In service the wheels will be re-machined on a wheel lathe (this is in a train depot heavy maintenance shop) and the wheels are not removed from the train or this. The wheels are measured again and then new size input into the TCMS by the train Technician. There is a wear/machining tolerance for the wheel size; once it falls outside this the axle is replaced and goes back for re-manufacture.
