    What has gaming cost YOU?

      Day 82 without gaming: Gaming cost me many days a year of taking days off work to game and from being up all night the prior evening gaming. I had become a walking zombie with 1-4 hours of sleep per night. Gaming cost me excessive weight gain due to a sedentary lifestyle and a lot of physical pain due to prior back injury and a sedentary lifestyle. Gaming almost cost me my marriage as it put huge strains on my marriage.

    Video games have cost me a lot of money and time. I’m still not sure how to get away from it. In a new place, in a different state than I was at the end of last year, video games have become a coping mechanism for huge change again. Are there any things to help with further than the videos you’ve shared of success stories and such?

    I have watched that anime “solo leveling” and for me is the perfect metaphore for the addict…. Like the protagonist is a Zero in the world and then he finds himself in a state of being able to Level up and going from zero to hero….
    That must be one of the main trigger… like you are a nobody in real Life and can be sucessfull at a virtual reality….

    • @isidorodaviddoro1920

      Solo leveling isn't really a good example,the anime isn't a isekai it's a fantasy show where hunters do a bunch of quests inside the dungeons.
      They get paid and Also get new weapons or armors as a reward.
      So it isn't really a waste of time,video games can become a huge escape to people that have mental Health issues or that have some other problema in their life that they either can't solve or feel insecure

    I think Doc Disrespect was the only 1 that i feeld like... he can live both lifes, gaming and reel but if you know him and his channel you also know that gaming almost cost his marriage on the past, they came togheter again later on but just cause she accepted his work as a pro-gamer YTuber... and just cause was profitable, without money from his videos no chance they had get back... and only God knows how they are doing now... also i´m not juding but just pointing, i bet if he had to choose just 1 life he gone pick up the real one... and i´m also bet 99% of gamers don´t play and are paid for it, if you account microtransactions today you are paying constantly for lesser and more expensive games... too much cons VS few pros about games!

      Ghostpoolthe & @altair-x, I can see from your RUclips channels that you are both avid gamers. Is there any particular reason why either one of you is on a channel called Game Quitters? If you’re having issues with gaming and it’s something you want to deal with then there’s no shame in admitting it. The first step is to be honest with yourself and work on it from there.

    • @Ghostpoolthe

      @@GenkiStarLeaf yeah, I have no issues with gaming, I keep getting emails from this guy and I'm always curious about he has to say, I have one thing to say. DON'T FORCE IT ON EVERYONE! • @altair-x
      @altair-x 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@GenkiStarLeaf Oh no, nothing like that. I just hate how Gamequitters and likeminded channels make video games sound like a super addictive drug, when only about 3.6% of all games are "addicted" to it, which to me at least, suggest a deeper problem. I think channels like these are far more likely to make people believe that they have a problem, then they are to help them.

    • @GenkiStarLeaf
      @GenkiStarLeaf 6 месяцев назад +5

      @@altair-x What do you think this deeper problem is exactly? Gaming addiction is classified as an Impulse Control Disorder (ICD) by the WHO, similar to gambling addiction. Gaming addiction is recognised by the experts, so we can say it does exist, regardless of the documented percentage addicted.
      I can’t see how channels such as Game Quitters are not helping? Cam has put up enough content over the years, showing how his methods do help.
      Have you ever tried going without gaming for 30-90 days? Even if you don’t think you have any issues with gaming, give it a try even if it is 30 days. You might be pleasantly surprised by the results.
