Okay...the TIP of the DAY is now in session.... To keep pets off of furniture simply use one of those roll up mat carpet protectors one uses at the office. When turning upside down those little prickly points(cleats) just annoy pets to no end while doing no real harm to them. Simple, quick and cheap. My sister-n-law who's a vet assistant demonstrated the idea and really works well. You're welcome. Great to see you again Michael. Best regards.

@@thattubesound2214 I wish I had some sound godly advise for you, the only thing that comes to mind is a story of King David, who's first son with Bathsheba had died. He prayed and mourned for the child and after the child had died he rose washed his face and continued with his duties. When asked by his country men why he had stopped mourning for the child after the child had died, he said: "I can not bring him back to me but one day I shall go to him." So there is a great hope for those in Christ of seeing our loved ones again. May God grant you peace.

Thank you for putting so much detail into re-working the tuning eye drive @25-28 mins, the schematics call the big red one 22M, which doesn't help. Also for me I tin stranded lead wire beofre soldering down to minimize the fraying. I knew to be suspicious when I saw other values like 100M, 330M when I could see their color-code were 'K sized.

Welcome back, Michael!! You have no idea how much you were missed and just how many people care about you, enjoy your videos, look forward to them, and learn a great deal through your efforts. Change is always difficult to accept and it sounds like you've had more than your share of it all in a relatively short period of time. To see you back and doing OK made my day!

It will be easy getting Burt to show up on camera. Ernie is a different story. He's more shy, but he torments Burt ceaselessly, so I should be able to get some good stuff! I'm thrilled to be back and I hope that I can keep folks interested. Thank you so much for your kindness! Take care. Michael

Funny, I've used that same camera. Sony Handycam CX440 and the Ikea Jansjo Spotlights on my videos! Great minds think alike. I love the compactness and relatively good quality of the Sony's image. Not suitable for 4K, but perfect for how-tos.

      Ian,
Thank you so much for your thoughts and words. I really enjoy making vids and opening myself up a little bit in them. I forget about the cameras for the most part and I just "chat with my friends". During some of the tough times last year, returning to the bench and RUclips were goals that kept me pushing on. Take care, my friend.

Michael welcome back! You have been greatly missed, and please accept my deepest sympathy for your losses, as well as everything you have gone through. You are the first U-Tube radio restoration person I ever watched and are the sole reason I got into this awesome hobby. I learned so much from you and gained confidence enough to start working on radios myself and now also have my own channel. I am so happy you are back, and now look forward to continuing to glean knowledge from you.

Michael, I am sorry to hear of your losses, and of your health issues. I enjoy your videos and your cats. I have multiple 811Ks, 813Ks, and 816Ks. To date, I have restored four (2 811Ks and 2 813Ks). After your move, do you still have your 812K? I plan to convert a spare 811K chassis to a 812K. I have all of the necessary components from an 813K to complete the project. Looking forward to hearing from you. Fred

Michael, I recently discovered you on RUclips and have been watching your Zenith videos. GREAT STUFF! I'm a woodworker who was given a Pilot cathedral radio a couple years ago and after refinishing it, discovered there was a whole world out there of beautiful antique radios waiting to restored to there original beauty. Now I'm teaching myself the electronics part of it. This is purely a hobby and I have no interest in taking it further than just that. But, I need some mentoring. I live in the Salt Lake area and I believe you now live in Nephi, right? I would love to talk to you either via email or phone. Is that possible? thanks in advance, Ray....

    Hello Michael,
I am a recent subscriber, but I’ve watched some of your videos and loved them. I have a 1966 Grundig Stereo Console that I want you to take a look at. If you could help me out by taking a look at it and fixing it up, it would be greatly appreciated. The cabinet is fine, it is the chassis, speakers, and turntable I need to be repaired. Hope to hear back from you soon.
    blessings,
    David
