Great video. I would also add that in some states both rental is illegal because you can't file a 1099 self-employment while being an employee under someone else. If they can file taxes on you, you shouldn't pay them rent, but if you're filing self-employed you're your own business, that means all of your supplies, your name, marketing, clients, everything is on you and yours to keep if you do decide to move locations.

Hey, what about insurance. I know the salons have general liability but should booth renters still have booth rental insurance or professional liability insurance?
I'm a chair renter, the owner of my salon pointed me in the direction for this. look into "hands on trade" insurance for stylists. the cheapest I've found
How do you go about finding booth rentals / or suite rentals?
I would type it in your location on google search. Or just call several salons and ask if they are hiring for booths
