Think about it tho: Bill Burr jokes that women are "psycho robots" who just start messing with you the sec you walk in the door, and just won't stop. Yet he ALSO does a bit about his own dad, who'd come home and just start going off on his mom about whatever. But that's what's great about Bill: HE sees all sides of things. His comedy skewers everybody with their own BS, and that incl people who pretend that the "LAAAADY" who keeps screaming is all that different from the fat guy who keeps shouting from off-stage.

I just met Caroline Rhea last night and said thank you so much for standing up for Bill Burr and comedy as a whole. I like Bill Burr. But why is he a genius for that line? What does it mean? I get that it's a reference to SNL. But....What is the joke exactly? A reference is not funny in of itself.
It's a little bit meta in what "Tony Clifton" is, and also referencing Colin there and the talk about Tracy Morgan. Mostly the idea that the whole thing was an insane setup for the SNL opener. If he had the chance, the people who originally played Tony would ABSOLUTELY have been willing to actually get escorted out of a building to do the opener. Bill just knows the history.

I think the most hilarious part of the whole thing is how a supposed comedian is actually offended during this conversation.
This is further evidence that the way Bill Burr says even serious things is naturally funny. He gives the impression that he doesn't even have to try, or at least that it's an unintended side effect of speaking his mind. Absolute genius and one of the greatest of all time.

Since i found bill burr about 4 years ago he has risen to the top of my list as super funny for someone like me. Miss George Carlin but he lives on through you tube.
This you tube video format is great, makes life worth living. Humor /music /documentaries /cartoons/intellectual stimulation, wow...! Even changing the brakes on my car with step by step visual instruction. It's worth it.

Tony Clifton isn't a real person - he's a character, initially made up and played by Andy Kaufman, but has been played by a few people over the years. He's also a 'heel', or what you'd call a troll nowadays. His whole routine is to be obnoxious, offensive, and get everyone to hate him. The other comedians probably (and Paul Provenza definitely) were in on it. That being said, I'm sure the whole thing was improved, though.

I am a kid from Hong Kong and I remember when my Indian friend discovered Russel Peters. He got us all back to his place and show us his first special, we loved it. We were actually happy that our part of the world was not being ignored and also Peters was not wrong. His accent was correct and the stereotypes were the ones we had of each other parents.
