I used to love to sew! I learned when I was nine and even took a clothing construction class in college. I don’t do much anymore. I can’t seem to sew straight anymore! Beautiful tag! I’m also doing a concertina tag journal! I used chipboard as the substrate. I love how yours is turning out!❤❤❤

😂 don’t you love that we were born in a different era?! My mother was from that era. She was so concerned about her size and weight that’s why she smoked!and I want the most comfortable thing on I can wear! I just love this journal you are making.

I do all sorts of needlecrafts, including sewing clothes. I have made cheerleading outfits, all sorts of costumes, All the clothing for myself and all my family members and my most challenging effort a custom ski suit for my hubby. We are both creators. He builds blackpowder rifles, golf clubs, knives and flyfishing rods from scratch. Really like today’s make. Oh, yes, and you have to sew the uppers of shoes. I can do that. Not only have I sewn myself a pair of oxfords and a pair of hiking boots but when I worked at Sears (1980’s) in display I sewed a giant tennis shoe to hang over the shoe department. Junk journals? Not so talented here but I am working on it.

That was fun! My late mother could sew clothing and made me the most beautiful dress when I was in high school. I wish I had kept it. She never really got into quilting, which she thought was harder. I make quilts but think making apparel is harder 😂.

Bel, i, too, am a history nerd and want to know about everything. Fashion and clothing, worn throughout time, has always fascinated me. Let me just say... it wasn't the women that decided they wanted to go back to being corseted. It was some man or a group of men, somewhere that got the idea, two make this a fashion statement so that they could make money. It's always about the money. Unfortunately, women are always vying to be more beautiful and think they need some product or some piece of clothing to make them stand out or feel better about themselves. So women have always been an easy target!

Love your interpretation of the prompt! I love vintage fashion and the story behind this is so good! I could’nt cut straight either but I can sew straight, but it’s looking much better if the stitching is wonky on a page. I’m gonna take after you a little bit on this prompt, hope you don’t mind😉Keep on with your wonderful work and your wonderful stories❤️

Another great interpretation of the prompt. My grandmother and her 3 sister were seamstresses and made parachutes during the war. Of course she taught me to sew but I've never been as good as her, she didn't even need a pattern! Thanks for sharing ❤xxx

I have a plan to make a junk journal that is made up of STUPID and SILLY ads geared about or for women. How kitchen appliances will make you happy and fulfill your life, The “guess what happened when I backed the car out dear” jello pudding ad with the woman holding a pudding pecan pie she made for her husband; how “she’ll want to thank you three times a day (for the insinkerator garbage disposal); things like that!
