Taemin is my favourite soloist for a reason. "Commanding" and "captivating" are a good descriptions for his performances! As for the vocals, I'm not sure it was all live but I know he can sing live and dance simultaneously like all SHINee members without any problem 🔥🔥🔥
Taemin is such an incredible performer and I can't take my eyes off him when he is onstage. There were backup dancers??? I applaud your restraint in not immediately starting the performance over again, and managing to string together coherent thoughts. Ha, ha, Taemin loooves doing “magic” tricks! He does it for fun to entertain people around him :) You should really start watching his solo concerts. You will quickly realize how diverse and utterly amazing his discography is and how amazing of a vocalist he is. He’s so versatile, he can do literally anything, plus he’s super creative and has fantastic ideas regarding his stage production. He’s artistic sense is just out of this world. As for Taemin’s silhouette, you’re right, he’s naturally very lean and has great body proportions - long legs, gorgeous long neck and broad shoulders and back. He’s obviously very fit, but he talked about it in his interviews how he actually doesn’t like being too muscular, especially on his arms, because it makes his dancing less graceful and somehow disrupts the natural ease and flow of his movements. And I agree! I never liked too muscular dancers, I really love his body the way it is - slim and beautifully shaped. Please react to his ballads - Soldier and Rise would be a perfect choice. His voice is absolutely gorgeous and his renditions are always full of raw emotions. Thanks a lot and more Taemin please :)
Taemin is known for his elegant moves, his isolations, and some claim he has "no bones." He definitely has a core of steel. Have you watched Taemin's opening for MAMA 2020? Iconic. Just so you know, the lyrics for Taemin's "Soldier" were wrote by him, and along with his song "Guess Who" they are both songs on his Press It album, which had just came out in the beginning of 2016, so those were his new songs. And "Goodbye" is the Korean version of his original Japanese song, "Sayonara Hitori," which was his Japanese solo debut song also released in 2016. (I think this may have been one of the first times he had performed the Korean version.) If you watch his original Japanese MV, you will understand why he was dressed like that at the end of this performance, its symbolic of the aesthetic of Teamin's Japanese MV.

He can sing with power and stability due to years of being in SHINee. SHINee would have 3 hour concerts and you need stamina, healthy and strong lungs.

I love my TaeTae! Well he has been at it since the age of 13 and in this he's probably 24 or 25. Also, this is about a year after Jonghyun passed away. A lot of core, cardio training and using the diaphragm properly. There is a short documentary (about an hour) of his concert in Japan and what goes into it. He mentions that his fans understand that there are parts of a song where he would have backing vocals so he can catch his breath or a really hard dance sequence. There is a scene where he goes backstage and it's intense. He is clearly physically tired, his body is shaking from exhaustion and he tells them he feels like he's going to throw up and he puts his head btwn his legs. All this while people are changing his shirt, fixing his hair and makeup, etc. He takes a sip of water and goes back out like it's nothing for the final song. It really shows you how much of a toll it takes on his body and probably most Kpop Idols. You should check it out. I saw a YT short of a Stray Kids performance and as they hit the final dance pose you see Hyunjin's leg trying to give out as he fights to keep the position and then you clearly see I.N. about to pass. All the while Bang Chan is watching him for a just-in-case possibility. When the lights go off you see Bang Chan catch I.N. before he hits the floor and you see people run out to carry him off the stage. The Kpop industry is really difficult and most of the Idols come in as kids. Some starve themself to lose weight, some will have plastic surgery bc the company thinks it would make them more attractive, etc. There have been those who leave bc it's too much pressure and some have unalived themselves like Jonghyun from Shinee. So I try to always remember what we see is flashy and pretty but what kind of pressure are they dealing with behind the scenes. It makes me appreciate them even more.

It's 2016, so it can't be the year after jonghyun's death, it's the year of his Japanese debut. The backstage concert you are talking about is his first ever solo concert in Tokyo in the middle of the year in 2017 Jonghyun was there as his fan. So there is some stress there, and after that he realized how much solo is different from performing with a group. At that time, all this was new for him and a little different from what he expected, since he already had a very long experience with Shinее.
