Using the Sunnen AG 300 Precision Gauge

  • A subscriber asked and I do my best to deliver. Here is a quick run-through on using the AG300 gauge to measure connecting rod roundness.

    Also another thing to note is you have to adjust the top screw in and out and keep checking the rod until you find the highest number (clearance) so you know it is adjusted to center of the circle not below or above

    Cut both sides and use the sunnen gauge not your calipers because you can never really trust them. An inside micrometer and an outside mic is way more accurate you just have to know how to set the sunnen gauges. That’s just my opinion you can check roundness on them also. Assuming you have a cap grinder

    Did he have a detonation problem? Thats a lot of strech for a rod. Im curious of the tune up

      No tune. This is Commiefornia. Probably just didn't check the oil.

      2 rods and the crank were junk. STROKER! HAHA!
