@@bjornnyland I just find the way you say things funny! Bringing the heater and the toaster into your car with the eco flow is genius, but um, slightly eccentric? I wonder where it will end! You need the kettle and a small stove too!
The doors look fun but having the window open fully every time would get annoying in the rain. The energy use seems quite high for a saloon. Ouch. And a slow charger as well.
Heating with the ecoflow, and then charging it via 12v while driving is surely less efficient than just using the cabin heater? Unless you didn't charge it while driving (I think you said you were going to).
Hey Bjorn, nice video as always. What I really waiting already for few days are the videos of the Nissan Ariya tests. When we gonna see those, cannot wait.
I have the P7 Performance and love it and the damping with electronic CDC on Performance version is supercomfy. Never had any issues of any kind. No car is perfect though, neither is this, but I liked it better than BMW M50.EV6, Ariyas,, Ioniq5 and lots of other cars. Peak charge is 90kwh , not 80..could be faster yes, but its no problem really. Tesla M3 and Y is not even close when it comes to damping performance. Im not biased, testet 16 elcars before I bought P7
Even if impractical the doors look awesome and the red/black is sexy. A Model 3 may be cheaper and more practical, but this and also Ioniq 6 are much more interesting.
I can't help it. I really like the Xpeng P7. If someone offered me the Tesla Model 3 or It and change, I might well choose It [and the change] and not regret it. 😁
Cool looking car. The doors remind me of the rear doors on the Model X (i.e. a pointless gimmick). I’d definitely skip that. The slow charging is a bummer but seems typical for the Chinese cars. The fact that the charging speed doesn’t change when turning the HVAC on/off is most likely due to the fact that the charging connector and/or the cabling from the connector to the battery are what is limiting the charging speed. If the charging hardware (on the vehicle) is only rated for 200A, then that’s all it can pull from the charger. If it does that even when it is charging at less than peak speed, then it is bad BMS programming/management.
Good lord i would never use expilot if i would have that car , all the sounds dings and shit would drive me crazy , to bad it looks ok but i can never owe a car like that if we could mute all the sounds then maybe but i am happy with my M3. :)
waow , you didn´t say do you like that shit about the doors, I was really waiting on it :) btw, about the handels and mirrors when you were at the gas station, it can be a like a hallo thing from the car when you are near by the car when you have the key on you? , my car has a setting to take up the mirros when iam close the car with my key with in my pocket!!
@@bjornnyland I can’t see them on the list and I remember that they both did better than 11.35?? Around 10.20 I think. Did you cut in the list to show the best car and the ones in the vicinity of the one you tested?
Model S costs 2x more than Xpeng P7. But Model 3 costs more or less the same. Also, during an Xpeng event in China, they placed a Model 3 there for comparison.
car speed is actually slower than actual speed due to safety reason and I have read an article a few years ago and all manufacture does same. the car speed is normallt 3-4 km\h slower than actual.
We have to add some extra time here, the Eco Flow heating the cabin is kind of cheating. On a real trip you will of course keep the car warm with atrac on, and on this car you then will use longer time to charge the battery. So to make this fair to a car that pulls extra power to heat the cabin and not slowing down the charging I suggest adding 10 minutes ? Seems fair ?
If anything, subtract 10 mins. Despite what Bjorn said in the video, heating with the ecoflow, and then charging it via 12v, is actually less efficient than just using the cars cabin heater.
Well, if we are not joking. If you charge at 75kW in average for 30 minutes where atrac pulls 1.5kW in average (not winter yet) that will use 0.75kWh. At 75kW you get 1.25kWh pr minute, minus 5% loss, you have to charge 37,9 sec. longer. If very cold and atac uses 3kW this will be 1 minute and 15.8 sec. Yes, decimals are important here 😀 But in cold winter months in -20°C this could be something to consider, you might need to charge 1 to 2 minutes extra on each charging stop, only because software do not ask for more power from charger. And ironically, if car coldgate, the slower the charging gets and the worse this get.
120km/h limit for the cruise is just silly, esp in Europe or China where motorway speed limits are often 130km/h! It would make sense if a 130km/h then. As for the rest, it seems like it looks nice, but isn't really up to the standard of the competition.
Clearly Xpeng missed the briefing when trying to copy model 3…., chargers pretty slowly (brand new car, not peaking at 120-150kw at least these days??), not that efficient, Xpilot thing poor, infotainment/usability poor (no %, no estimate at arrival, etc, etc…)… Ah, wait, no, it has got fancy lights and fancy “waste of time” doors… it seems a common thing in Chinese cars… they seem to like their gongs (it would drive me insane!!), lights, “fancy” things), but poor at basic stuff…. Why Chinese cars don’t have %, or show true GOM, etc… Real shame as was expecting bigger things from this car… disappointing… 🤦♂️
Car brakes in corners because in China even the roads tell you what to do ;) Said it before, this for me is the worst of the chinese cars recently. I realy didn't see any aspect where it shines and if you factor in Xpeng's own aspiration, it's kind of a fail for me. But hey, still a lot of cars to be tested!
