    After this review and your kamado comparison video, I bought the Pit Boss K24--it was on sale and actually came in PINK!! Better than a good shoe sale 😊. This is a great option for 5'3" girl grillers who want decent quality at a reasonable price and less than 400 lb. Thanks so much for the info confirming that my cute kamado has substance and not just a pretty face! 😉🙏

    Favorite bbq channel coming through in the clutch again! Thank u for reviewing this item! Same one they sell at Costco but that one is called the “Louisiana Grills K24”. Same grill, same manufacturer. I know a lot of people who have this grill and have been waiting on a solid review. Thanks again!

      Thanks for your kind words Michael! I hope it's helpful in the buying decision making process. We had fun testing this one, and lots more kamado content coming real soon as we ramp up to the Best XL Kamado culmination.

    I found a 22” on offer up and got the guy to sell it to me for 250$. Gonna pick it up on Saturday and super excited!!

    I think it’s misleading calling it a 24” when it’s really a 20” grilling surface. It doesn’t say on their website, only square inches. I noticed other companies do this also. I just watched a video where a guy bought a 15” kamado and grilling surface was around 12” I think it was a lifesmart. Thanks for measuring and not just giving square inches. Great review.

      Yep. It’s honestly fucking horse shit and could end up costing someone a lot of fucking money who wanted a safely brisket sized kamado.

    • @Geoflect
      @Geoflect 9 месяцев назад

      Does this mean the 22 is actually 18 inches of cooking space??

    • @sideyardbarbecue3214
      @sideyardbarbecue3214 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Geoflect it’s definitely not 22” grilling surface. I’d email company to confirm before buying. They measure to the outside of the ceramic.

    My eye is twitching seeing you not do something to keep the deflector plate clean. I know you don't need to do it, but I have a mild form of OCD and just can't do it on my egg.

    How can this great channel only have 44K subs!? This is a terrific channel. Ok, now I’m hungry - what to grill on: Kamado, Weber, MGrill, Hasty Bake. If I buy just one more grill, my wife says she will leave me - WIN WIN! LOL

      You're too kind, but thank you! How do you like the Hasty Bake? I've never grilled on one of those, so that's a foreign one to me.

      @@TheBarbecueLab SUPERB quality. The HB is really well made…as well made as the M, and a little less expensive. I have the HB portable competition grill. Good for one large rib eye or two smaller. Just me and my wife, mostly, so we use that for us. Have - or had, sniff sniff - a XL PRIMO, but it took a tumble and RIP PRIMO. Looking for another ceramic grill to replace it, which is why your video was so timely for me…. Have a small M Grill in NYC, too. Have several open Japanese style ceramic KORIN grills, which I use with Japanese charcoal. Man is that stuff good…and expensive. Have not cooked on gas except dogs and burgers for the kids IN YEARS. Don’t tell my wife, but I am looking to get a bigger M Grill or Hasty Bake for LA….. Keep up the good work.

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  Год назад +1

      @SurfingOnMars that's quite the grilling arsenal! One of these days i'll get hands on with the HB and the M. I haven't seen Travis from MGrills since 2020 when the world shut down, so it's about time to catch up again. Sad to hear about the Primo, but ceramic's are certainly fragile little buggers. My Kamado Joe barely survived a tumble after using some ceramic mortar to put it back together. It's not the same, but it still works and is the largest kamado i've worked with. The Big Joe is just huge. Might as well throw a bag of charcoal in it to start it up, lol.

      @@TheBarbecueLab My goal is to have more grills than I have surfboards! But I have outsmarted myself: I just keep buying boards, so I have to buy more grills, then more boards, etc…. I think it was Gloria Vanderbilt who said, “you can never be too rich or have too many grills!”

      I’ve heard of the Kong, but haven’t worked with one yet. I believe that Grilla Grills was recently acquired, so I don’t currently have any connections with the brand to run tests with. Maybe in the future.

      @TheBarbecueLab  18 дней назад

      I know they’re still making the Kong, and they just had a great Father’s Day sale where they sold out, but they’ll be back in stock soon. As to this one, it was in stock a few weeks ago, so I think it’s still being made, just sold out for the moment. Thanks for watching!

    I watched your video about feeding 800 people. I have a question regarding about how many people I can feed comfortably off my 24x 48 Lone Star Grillz. I’m looking to possibly feeding a group of people from work around the holidays. Just wanted to get a idea.

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I was able to get 12 pork shoulders on my 24x48 Lone Star Grillz comfortably, and they weighed between 8-10 pounds each, so it was roughly 100 pounds of raw meat on the grill. We planned for 50% loss in the bone, rendered fat and cartilege when it was all said and done, so we ended up with 50+ pounds of meat off my grill. We made 1/4 pound sandwiches, which meant that my Lone Star unit fed 200 people without breaking a sweat. I hope that's helpful.

    Whatever happened to the days when you could get a Green Egg for under $1000?

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  Год назад +1

      Inflation? The effect of being a category leader and trying to distance themselves? I see multiple answers to that question, but I’m not an economist. You can still get a large Egg for less than $1,000 I believe, but that’s with no stand or accessories. When I priced one with all the stuff you get with some of these less expensive units, the price almost doubled.
