Listening to this song while revisiting areas where boss battles took place was always chilling. I truly felt like I had killed someone and their blood would always be in my hands.
Vulcan Raven: You live in Alaska too? You are aware of the Alaskan Indian-Eskimo Olympics? Solid Snake: Yeah, I know it. You must be a real threat in the muktuk eating contest. Vulcan Raven: Yes, but there is another event that I excel at. It is called the ear pull. It is an event where two contestents pull each others' ears while enduring the harsh cold. It tests pysical as well as spiritual strength. Solid Snake: You wanna pull each other's ears?
I always found this music really foreboding, since it plays during a lot of really uncertain moments (like when you return from the caves to find the PSG-1, or after you beat Raven before you get to REX's lair).
@@toasterwaffleowen4709 I can't think of a more horror situation than psycho mantis the sorrow and vamp were tame compared to mantis one of the best battles of all time
I know there were other MGS games that came before and after this, but this was a Master Piece, unexplainable at the time, and never replicated after its time. The spirit, wonder, broading storytelling, imersion all in the power of a PSX at the time of this title's release was one for the ages. Love this game.
I always think of that face you see through the camera in that waterfall with this song. Funny how our minds captivate such things to a degree that sets us back to that time of remembrance.
This game, And I mean Metal Gear Solid for psx, is one of the most legendary games, and the music I still remember years after playing, kinda like FF7.
The ravens and I were testing to see what kind of man you were. THE JUDGEMENT IS DECIDED! The ravens say you are a true warrior....then shamanism follows....
Favorite track off the soundtrack. After beaten Mantis and Raven you hear this and it always gave me chills. Since I see people sorting out their best metal gear solids from best to worse, I'll do the same. MGS > MGS4 > MGS3 > MGS2.
It never ceases to amaze me that people can't get their head around someone holding a different opinion to themselves. MGS1 is untouchable for me, remains the best in the series.
@volsoner Dude I know, I mean, all the MGS games are phenomenal, but this one just had such a dark tone to it- one that no other MGS game has been able to achieve thus far.
1 person's path they walk on has no end. Each step they take is paved with the corpses of their enemies. Their spirits will haunt them forever. They shall have no peace. long winded, but there you go.
I finally got to play MGS4 (I know, i know. I'm poor and went the 360 route. I make no apologies.) and I was actually shocked at how ridiculous and hokey it was. Was it on purpose? It felt like it was mocking itself, did Kojima lose his mind?
just beat the game, so........EPIC, i know that word is thrown around alot but, metal gear solid4: guns of the patriots, was a-frickin'-mazing! hopefully second play through will be equally as awesome. :D
Wolves are noble animals. They're not like dogs. In Yupik, the word for wolf is "Kegluneq", and the Aleuts revere them as honorable cousins. They call mercenaries like us "Dogs of War". It's true, we're all for sale at some price or another. But you're different.. Untamed.. Solitary. You're no dog.. You're a wolf.
What is the song, at the veeeeeeeeryy beginning of the game, and its got those weird people singing "do do do do do doot"?Its like when your loading up the game
I wonder why they titled it Colosseo? I mean, that IS the Latin word for Colosseum and it DOES kind of fit the feel of such a massive ancient ruin... but it's kind of off topic for Metal Gear... Odd...
what is that song when you like move on to a next chapter after the movies are done, its got like a womans voice and she says like 3 words which are clearly not english or id of found this days ago... anybody know?
btw, i know that it was possible to get the gatling gun????? I never managed to do it, u did it by just hitting him or summit? everytime i tried he shot me :S
Listening to this song while revisiting areas where boss battles took place was always chilling.

This music is used very effectively to make you remember Raven and Mantis.

0PyramidHead in mantys room
The death of Vulcan Raven, always makes me think of that, that and the cold storage warehouse.
Metal Gear Solid is one of those veeery few games that bring back special memories, the music is spinetingling.
The only mgs that had action, horror, sadness. it just had it all. best game ever!
Late reply but I mean mgs 2 had that shit too
Literally all 4 of the original mainline MGS games had that stuff, what are you on about 💀
@@toasterwaffleowen4709 I can't think of a more horror situation than psycho mantis the sorrow and vamp were tame compared to mantis one of the best battles of all time
"The spirit of the warrior, will always be with you".
This game will never get old
why is every metal gear song so perfect
MGS had an amazing score, way ahead of its time.
I know there were other MGS games that came before and after this, but this was a Master Piece, unexplainable at the time, and never replicated after its time. The spirit, wonder, broading storytelling, imersion all in the power of a PSX at the time of this title's release was one for the ages. Love this game.

What part are you talking about?
Hearing this almost makes me feel bad for the guy I just fought. It's that moving.
Absolutely incredible...yet another masterpiece -_-
top 5 game of all time
This game, And I mean Metal Gear Solid for psx, is one of the most legendary games, and the music I still remember years after playing, kinda like FF7.
Heart wrenching. Pure genius.
back when gaming was not for the masses they made the ultimated games for ps1
im fallen to darkness and i love these musics! ^.^
The ravens and I were testing to see what kind of man you were. THE JUDGEMENT IS DECIDED! The ravens say you are a true warrior....then shamanism follows....
wen i played the 1st game and heard this music I thought there was a ghost behind me lol
Favorite track off the soundtrack.
After beaten Mantis and Raven you hear this and it always gave me chills.
Since I see people sorting out their best metal gear solids from best to worse, I'll do the same.
MGS > MGS4 > MGS3 > MGS2.
+Johnny Lawrence my opinion. 4 was more cinematic, dramatic, and better than 3.
Johnny Lawrence your opinion
It never ceases to amaze me that people can't get their head around someone holding a different opinion to themselves.
MGS1 is untouchable for me, remains the best in the series.
Gary Mitrovic absolutely agree
Tu eh doido mesti! !!!
Very true m8, love this track...all Mgs soundtrack is just amazing..thnx alvaro for posting this and the all other tracks of Mgs..
A strong man doesn't have to read the future, he makes his own...- Solid Snake...
I feel satisfied when I'm listening to this
i hear crows now!
That's exactly what I was thinking, it brings tears into my eyes.
War has changed!
-Old Snake
Eerie... amazing.
Place the controller on the floor... place it as flat as you can. That's good. Now I shall move your controller, with the power of my will alone!
This tune, gives me the creeps a little.
Thanks!
I love how this sound sounds like borking of the hound
omg where did u get the so called CD i want this my friend will freak hearing this lol i wouldnt get it back
Like, it sort of makes me want to cry.
Goddamn Psycho Mantis, makes himself unforgettable
@Detsurasu
Its just unbelievable that we consider MGS the best game ever even though its year 2010. MGS Forever
It's 2018 now :(
picks up Socom & Famas ammo; ration full
I've been looking for this music that plays after beating Psycho Mantis.
@volsoner Dude I know, I mean, all the MGS games are phenomenal, but this one just had such a dark tone to it- one that no other MGS game has been able to achieve thus far.
Agree. It's moving, depressing.
This game came out in 1998, and the current year is 2007.....
sup from the future, 2020 now...
See you in 2027
1 person's path they walk on has no end. Each step they take is paved with the corpses of their enemies. Their spirits will haunt them forever. They shall have no peace.
long winded, but there you go.
he's an honorable boss.
All it needs is the ravens echoing in the backround...
mantis is like the sorrow
his spirit "protects" snake just like the sorrow did with big boss
This will be played at my burial
I swear on all of these videos, there's just one guy who's disliked them all
Im listening crows right now
I finally got to play MGS4 (I know, i know. I'm poor and went the 360 route. I make no apologies.) and I was actually shocked at how ridiculous and hokey it was. Was it on purpose? It felt like it was mocking itself, did Kojima lose his mind?

This plays after you beat Sniper Wolf as well

Love that shit, damn 🧐
'send him a message!'
just beat the game, so........EPIC, i know that word is thrown around alot but, metal gear solid4: guns of the patriots, was a-frickin'-mazing! hopefully second play through will be equally as awesome. :D
mgs 1 is the darkest metal gear game
indeed
I think his appearance in 4 was mostly Fanservice.

While reading "Stalin's Last Crime: The Plot Against the Jewish Doctors, 1948-1953," this music came to mind. Very eerie.
When 7 year tribulation hits youll begin to hear that song.
this song makes me sad:(
didnt this play when you were goin down the elevator where you could shoot the crows? then at the bottom was the warehouse where you fought raven?
this plays after u defeat mantis
HOW COULD SOMEONE MAKE MGS SO FUCKIN AWESOME GAME ?????!!! 100 stars of 5
the worst thing about this game is you cant stop playing it
Introduction, the link is in related videos on this page.
I think he means the part AFTER beating the "Beauty"-Form...
Mantis does arrive and dies cuz he fails in the know-how of modern Consoles
this plays after you defeat mantis and raven
I liked the first MGS more than the second one... however I didn't played the others (yet...)
ghosts in metal gear when?
What is the song, at the veeeeeeeeryy beginning of the game, and its got those weird people singing "do do do do do doot"?Its like when your loading up the game
@Detsurasu you are right mgs 3 was way better then 2 or 4
but 1 is still the bomb that wil never stop exploding
I wonder why they titled it Colosseo? I mean, that IS the Latin word for Colosseum and it DOES kind of fit the feel of such a massive ancient ruin... but it's kind of off topic for Metal Gear... Odd...
