All hail the beautiful and graceful peacocks! ^^ And those babies! I just want to scoop those little buggers up and huggle them because...CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!
***** Hi, Cookiez! So nice to hear from you, as always! I know what you mean about the babies...I had to pick one up a couple of times because they were lost from their mother and I carried them over to their mother for a happy reunion and it sure was nice to hold them (they are so fast, I had to have someone help me catch 'em)! I could cuddle one myself permanently....they are so cute! Hope all is well with you! Thank you so much for your visit...you are one of my favorites and I love reading your lingo!

I was also wondering: where is the place where you film these peacocks? and how many of them are there? and if there are many (which seems to be the case) don't we regulate the births? because the peacocks at my place were 2 in the spring of 2021 then they had a small female who is now an adult of 2 years old: that makes 3. then in 2022 there were 9 babies! 4 died naturally (cats, foxes...at about 3 weeks old) then 2 were captured by interested hunters (who have no authorisation) at 4 months old. they are now 3 babies (big ones) of 10 months old: 2 females and a small male. which makes 6 in all, counting the father, the mother, the first girl of 2 years old and the 3 peachicks of 10 months old.
I film the peacocks at the Los Angeles Arboretum...it is a big county park with 127 acres. Right now there are about 25 peacocks and the peahens have left recently and gone to the neighborhoods across the street. It is very sad...we have to get them back somehow. They females left because they are renovating the area where they roosted and also the county passed a law that we can't feed them anymore. I am very sad.

hello peacocklover27 very nice video! i'm passionate about peacocks since there are some near me in the wild. and we still don't know how they got there. i'm in a big french city and these peacocks are in the top of a valley near the houses... but they were there in 2021. now they are towards the houses (strange i thought they preferred the green) in summer 2021 they had a female. This year there are now 6 of them: the big male, the mother, her first daughter, two small females and their 10 month old brothers. But when I think about it, isn't this going to be a problem because of the speed of their multiplication? especially since some inhabitants want to kill them because of the noise they make. with your expert opinion, do you think this is going to be a problem?
That's so exciting...you have peacocks near you! From past experience, the people who don't like them could cause trouble. Is there any way you can steer them to an area further away from the troublemakers?
I don't know... most people love them and give them food... but the problem is the male because at night he cries to call the female for hours, so for the moment it's winter and so no worries... but when the mating season will arrive...
@@peacocklover27 yet every spring he seemed to call her and soon after I heard the female's call (I can differentiate their call) then all of a sudden I see her on a branch of another tree while her previous calls seemed to be 500 meters away...

What the heck! We start out with 8 eggs or more. We see 5 chicks, then 4 chicks, then 3 chicks. Where are the chicks disappearing to? Nobody is forcing the females to mate. They don’t approach the peacocks unless they are considering mating. When they stoop down, they are giving the peacocks their permission to mate.
Hello again, I wanted to ask you: the mating season for peacocks starts on what date? The male of my house usually goes to the greenery of a valley (the city has preserved a green space but the houses surround it) in the winter and then calls the female a few months later ... and I still do not hear it ... if the season has started it means that he was captured ...
We're in mating season now...it's from the middle of March until the middle of April, but technically it lasts until July or August when the male loses all his train feathers.

Young males 1 and 2 years old also have less feathers. They don't get their long train feathers until they are 3 years old. Females have green neck feathers and smooth brown feathers on their backs. Males have blue neck feathers and striated feathers on their backs.
