Panama Canal faces water crisis amid drought and growing demand

- A severe drought in Panama has drastically reduced the canal’s water levels this year, impacting one of the world's busiest trade passages.
It has forced authorities to restrict shipping, which is disrupting global trade.
Authorities say the canal should return to normal levels by next year, but measures should be taken to make it sustainable in the long term.
