Hello. This video was amazing. I have a question.. Is it advisable to tie the gele before crossing to make pleats?
Cos each time I just cross without tying..the gele is usually very loose
Hi Blessing, I have not tied the gele before making pleats, so I can't tell if it will work. But if the gele is loose after crossing...it just means the crossing isn't tight. When crossing the gele, it is like hooking two parts together. Also make sure that your model is holding on to one part of the gele immediately you cross and you are holding on to the other...that way it won't get loose. Try not to cross and leave the fabric on either your end or the models or let it get loose because one of you is not adding the right amount of pressure...you get?
@@AijayJunaid yes...thank you so much!!
I'll try this out
Thank you for this video.
For a bridal gele, how strong or soft do you expect the asoke to be?
Advice please.
Hello Bridget, thank you for your comment.
Your asooke should just be in the middle of hard and soft. If the asooke fabric is too soft, it may not hold your pleats well, and if it is too hard, it will be a struggle to pick the pleats and handle the asooke in general. So, just ensure the asooke feel a just right for you to handle.
Tip for if your asooke is too hard, especially new ones...squeeze the fabric (like roll it as if you are trying to squeeze water out of it), it will make it feel softer and easier to manage.
I hope this helps. ❤
Thanks sugar, You are the best ❤❤❤❤
Good day Ma, you Said the shorter part should go up while the longer one down when closing at the back, what if your measuring 50/50 which one will go up first because the two part is equal
Hello, if the measurement is 50/50, i will suggest the the side you place at the top, should be the part you arrange pleats for first.
Awesome!
What about if your gele is no up to 100 in length
You mean if the gele is short right? It doesn't matter if your gelr is the standard length or not, you are to assume it is 100% and start your measurement from there. The only issues you might have is that, 1. It might not be long enough to go round your clients head, or 2. It might go round the head, but you won't have a high volume when pleating.
For bridal geles, your asooke measurement should be 2yards 5/10inches, ideally.
I hope this helps.
