Thank you I almost did what you did with vice grips decided to check on RUclips as always there’s somebody out there with the answer again I appreciate it
Great tips! I'm near buying that gate kit and just doing my research and I was curious why they say to install the top hinge facing down. The only reason I can think of is for security purposes so an intruder can't lift the gate off the hinges to gain access but for non-security residential purposes I think I'll install both hinges facing up. Thanks

Thanks, I needed to know what size drill to use.
So simple but yet so effective and people won't think of it lol it's always the simple things
Thank you. Ive marred up several of them over the last couple years 😂
Like anyone would see
I was just going to use a section of pipe, but I was hoping for a socket I could use my impact on.
Simple but brilliant
thanks for taking the time. Can you tell me how you found the center of the posts?
I just eyeballed it which was fine. If you want it to be precise you can use a center finding jig or a set of calipers
@@idahodiy thanks...you were right. I eyeballed it and it worked out. Thanks for replying.
They need to face opposite direcrions. Otgerwise if it ever gets picked up on, it will fall off of the hinges
I leave them like that on purpose so I can remove the gates. People don't steal gates around here
@idahodiy Understood. I guess I just have a habit of picking up on a gate when i open it and I would tend to pull it off the hinges everytime lol
Thank you Owen wilson
Box end wrench would work
Where can I purchase that tool you used to screw on the screw hook?
It’s the actual hinge that goes on the gate
How do you put the gate on so that someone can't just lift it off?
Mount the hinges facing different directions
How do you do this without a drill
You need a drill
.... rub the threads w/bar soap. Slide right in.
