Spooky tale of a man who spends a night in the chamber of horrors of a wax museum. A horror classic narrated by Special Makeup FX Artist Ed French.
I remember as a kid watching the Hammer Horror film version of this story, I think it was in an anthology. It really creeped me out.
Many years later I’m still enjoying late night tales. Thank you 🙏 Mr French.
What a treat, Mr French! Thank you, as always. 😊
This was quite the pleasant surprise. I always appreciate the life you breathe into the characters.
Good to hear from you this early in the week, Mr. French.
Excellent.
Your portrayal of Dr. Bordette was nicely balanced between the creepy and the caricature.
Of course, we all knew that it was a bad idea to spend the night in the waxworks' 'Murderer's Room', just as it is always a bad idea to take that guttering candle down the cellar steps. But then, if everyone behaved in a sensible manner ... there would be no story!
Many thanks.
This is one of the stories that's perfect for reading aloud. A fave of mine. And yes, you can really get away with murder by having fun hamming it up as Bordette (LOL)! Thanks! E.E.F.
Ah I'm beginning to think we've been reading the same short story collections. As usual, your taste & narration is excellent. Thank you for what you do, Mr. French!
One of favorite readings, Ed! Awesome!!!!!
Wow what a treat! 2 stories in 5 days! You're awesome 💜
I'm subbed and I rang the bell. Still not getting notifications from this channel. Stupid RUclips!
Thank YOU!
Dr Crippen in the thumbnail.
One of my favourites, delivered in your own inimitable style. What an absolute treat! Thank you so much, Mr French, as always.
I know this story well, but was never so creeped out by it until I heard your version 🙀💜
THANKS, Violet. I know. This one gets sleazy at the end. (LOL) Cheers! E.E.F.
Oh brilliant this is a great little tale, I loved it when I joined the channel originally and its still a great narrative even now.
You will notice that lately I've re-posted some of the better stories. I've re-edited them, giving them a "touch-up" so to speak, deleted the old version, and dropped the revamped version. Think of these as an encore performance. I've noticed that some subscribers might not have discovered older posts like The Waxwork and I want to get these forgotten audios into people's ears. THANKS, Darren. E.E.F.
When I found you, I went back through everything you'd narrated, loving everything you've done, I absolutely loved Who Goes There and was devastated when it was pulled twice, I'm hoping it appears again with fingers crossed, there are other versions but yours is the best of them.
would love to know if this is his "natural" voice as he sounds exactly like vinnie price
