    This is the bookers rye alternative everyone has been waiting for. We brought a few bottles to the gathering of the juggalos and it went over really well. Mixed it with some faygo and shit. Whoop whoop.

    Got one a few weeks ago and cracked it tonight, it does not disappoint. Chapter 7 got much better after being opened so can’t wait to see if this gets even better after getting some air.

    I LOVE this whiskey Jason. I don't know if you've tasted it since you cracked it, but for me and my taste it opened up beautifully. The sweetness and the butterscotch notes come to the forefront, its absolutely wonderful and amazing, at least for me and my tastebuds. I just bought myself a backup... that's right, I love it that much. Thank you for the review, you're awesome man, keep going!

      Same, as recommended by Bourbon Junkies I cracked my bottle for a total of 6 hours 2 days at 3 hours of air each, and by the time I had my first nose and sip it was beautiful sweet and smooth no dill no rye

    That sounds like the JDBPR we didn’t pick. The palate was backwards spice up front and finished sweet. If I see it I’ll give it a try, may sit since it’s a rye. Thanks Jason C.

    This more intriguing than a must try. I think this leans toward people who want to study their whisky. This sounds like something I could sit down and study the flavors of and enjoy it that way.

    Just picked this up today. IMHO one of the best Rye whiskeys Ive had since the Parkers Heritage char#5 and some of the barrel strength Michters Ryes Ive had. Crazy candied apricot laced with spearmint and powdered donuts. Great pickup at MSRP.

    $160.42
    That's the price, before tax, in my controlled state. They state the blend, but not the proportions. For that price, you better have every single detail on that bottle.

    Nearly All-Rye Little Book!? Fascinating. I am mainly a Bourbon guy, but I DO enjoy a Rye from time to time. But at THAT price tag, I will stick to my Pikesville, Sazerac, Rabbit Hole, etc. 4:10 Putting up your palate antenna! 😄👍🏻

    With that dill and bready note, I get those notes on Cream of Kentucky BiB rye as well as Hillrock rye. Both very bready and rye forward. This will be a pass for me as I find I don’t come back to that profile often. Thanks for the review!

    Had a pour Friday night and I thought it had a strong spicy rye flavor, dill, vanilla sweetness, with a long finish. Almost to the point of being hot:) for me I’m hoping it calms down a little. Cheers!

      Hopefully, try coating your whole mouth with it to see if it helps the adjustment period? For me it drank hot on the front palate initially, but there was little to no heat going down.

    I like where they are taking Little Book hopefully in a better direction than like chapter 6. Last year's Chapter 7 was a top 10 pour of the year for me it just hit all of the right notes. This one I think it really starting to show what the guys at Beam can do with Rye and even blending a high age bourye.

    At $150 I will pass. I’ve really developed a taste for rye this past year or so but I think it will not stand out much over the JD barrel proof rye and Sagamore 8 year bottles. The price points on those are crazy value IMO.

    Why is age always a factor. All that matters is the taste right? Especially the finish. 🤷 Right?

    • @TheMashandDrum
      @TheMashandDrum  6 месяцев назад +2

      I think age can be a factor in price a bit, but your right...is it good or not.

    • @saxonjulin7482
      @saxonjulin7482 6 месяцев назад +1

      Because you can taste age. Older whiskeys generally taste better than more youthful whiskeys. Also, a lot more expense goes into older whiskeys than younger whiskeys.
