Ok, she’s an old woman.can we all just accept that ? Old women aren’t supposed to be “beautiful “..they can be loving, virtuous, kind, wise..but leave beauty to youth.

Beautiful, but at the same time always edgy, smart, insanely talented, and just inherently COOL. An iconic, integral and seminal voice in the last 40+ years of popular music.
This interview reminds me of conversations I had when I was younger with my cool Grandma, may she Rest In Peace. Looking back though I feel I could have shown her more respect with the personal topics I discussed with her. She took it in stride though, the same way Debbie does. Debbie has an amazing voice. Back in 1979 disco was so huge that new rock acts found it hard to get noticed and old rock acts had to perform disco hits to stay relevant. The group Blondie was able to be considered both a disco group and a punk rock group all at the same time without all the orchestration and production that made it difficult for disco acts to have live performances. It was what the music world needed at the time. I’m not sure what 80s pop music would have been like if Blondie hadn’t paved the way. It was the music I grew up with. I thank Debbie for the 40+ years of being able to enjoy her music. Strange how fast the years go by.

Debbie Harry is a true music and style icon and always struck me as incredibly hip and sophisticated. She always had something very special which is why Blondie became as big as they did. I have always, absolutely, adored Debbie Harry. I think one of my greatest fantasies would be just to sit down and chat with her over a beer.
Same here!!
She is the Queen!!! And those shoes....what the hell are those shoes she is wearing!!! I need them.
Ms. Dabbie has always done cool things and put out great music. My 1st two vinyl 45’s records were Blondie’s Heart of glass and another group that made the single Funky Town😄 I never got to here her in concert or on cable television. Learning more about her on RUclips in the past day or two than I did in my previous 50yrs here
i love debbie harry. she used to live (or still lives) in the building where i worked in nyc. she brought johnny weissmuller momentos down one time to the historic pool where he used to swim. i could tell this was an emphatic interest & lined up plans to have these hung & a little 'momento' area created. mgt had no idea what i was talking about & then the pieces 'disappeared.' that consortium no longer runs that building's health club--relationship severed. the artifacts are probably under the stairs in the storage area in the men's bathroom they have the key at the front desk in the health club . . .
If you mean on west 24th st yeah she still lives there, also thats a cool story
@@petrajurkovic1317 omg, yes w 24 the garden corridor!! haha, that's hilarious. that cracks me up anyone knew what i was talking about. i used to work @ LT in the gym & at that famous pool, i am glad this came thru as a 'cool story.' I wonder if debbie read it?? . . .
Saw her solo at Toad's Place New Haven 1989 and had the pleasure of meeting her downstairs in the refrigerator room, and she signed a couple LP's I had! Was the last one ushered in the room, and the first to have anything signed! She was surprised to see that I had "Def Dumb & Blonde" on vinyl! Had that signed along with a Private Stock promo "Blondie" LP! She signed "Def Dumb & Blonde" Love Debbie! A great show, she sounded great and the band was pretty good! Stein looked through a scrapbook that I was passing around the crowd! Can't believe that I got it back with all the pics still in it! Chris looked at every page! Aaah youth! Saw Blondie at The Beacon in 2017, Pollinator tour. They were awesome!
That is so awesome. I love Def Dumb & Blonde!
