Bro take megalopolis out of your predictions right now 💀
If anything Megalopolis is probably gonna sweep the Razzies, I think you should replace it in production design with Conclave, I mean look at the trailer with the Vatican it looks great
My VFX Predictions:
1. Dune: Part Two
2. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
3. Gladiator II
4. Deadpool & Wolverine
5. Twisters
Other possibilities:
- Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (I’m a little afraid it might miss.)
- Alien: Romulus
- Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
- Wicked
- A Quiet Place: Day One
What I don’t feel confident about:
- Mufasa: The Lion King
- Here
mi camino is the selena gomez song, it was incorrectly reported as 'el camino' out of cannes haha. el mal performed by zoe and karla is also the strongest song in the film. i definitely see both songs getting nominated
Rooting for another animated movie to get a Best Picture nomination.
Rebel Moon part 2 in visual effects? WTF 💩💩💩💩
rebel moon? ahahahahahahahaha
I'd go for Substance over Sasquatch in Makeup atm. But maybe yeah Makeup/Actor combo won't happen this year
I have Deadpool and Mufasa over Furiosa in VFX. Mufasa feels very VFX-branchy for me. Rebel Moon 2 isn't eligible iirc? I don't remember seeing them do limited like the first movie.
For Score I think Sing Sing is like Past Lives' score, quite good but too small to get in but it's on the cusp. I have Conclave, Saturday Night & Challengers in because their scores are highlights of their films and they're previous winners in Score so they're "in" the music branch, but I'm seriously considering swapping Challengers with Room Next Door.
Just a nitpick, maybe trim a bit down more in the edit. There's a few parts with dead air like when you pause or catch your breath, and a tad too much rambling sometimes that could easily be edited down to keep the flow going. Feels like there needs to be a bit more edits here and there, and it'll help get your points across more.
I saw a trailer for Your Monster when I saw The Substance, it is basically a modern day horror/comedic take of Beauty and the Beast, there’s a dude covered in hair prosthetics from head to toe, but I don’t think there’s a chance in hell it gets nominated in anyway because I mean you basically said it, you had no idea what the film was, and I don’t think a lot of other people do either
I mean, to be fair, of all the Academy branches, the Makeup branch will absolutely go for movies no one has seen, like Golda, Border, A Man Called Ove, The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, etc.
@@TheHannahcast a lot of those have more Oscar baity make up, usually old age make up, but I’m also looking at the horror/comedic element of the film where the other ones (I can only assume) don’t really have
Comedy makeup gets in quite often, too. Bad Grandpa, Coming 2 America.
@@TheHannahcast then I guess the only other answer I have to that is just that it didn’t feel like a make up nomination was waiting to happen, neither was any of those you mentioned, but I’m also mainly just going back to how no one really knows the film exists, there’s alot of films that get in that no one really knows about, but Your Monster doesn’t really stand out to me as one of those
