    I worked downtown for ten years. I don’t recognize it. There is no recognizable skyline anymore. The landmarks are gone. All of this glass architecture could be in Dubai or Berlin or London. It’s all the same. There’s no sense of regionalism. No beauty. Just slick, soulless, glass facades. The War Memorial is dwarfed and hidden. I liked having the Bat Building as a Nashville Icon. And Hume Fogg, the library, so many other buildings that made downtown Nashville unique.
    Broadway seems reserved for drunk tourists and drunk bachelorettes. Now I can’t see the Capitol building when I drive up Charlotte. Why look like Anyplace USA? Downtown has lost its charm.
    Just another place on the globe. The developers are doing alright for themselves. Some genius is putting up the tallest glass building in Oklahoma City. In the middle of charming Brickdown. OKC is tornado alley. And normal winds will blow over your patio furniture. I wouldn’t work in it.

    Church street not only doesn't have the traffic flow - it doesn't have the electrical infrastructure for a tower that size. Yes NES office is on Church street - but the nearest substations are Gay street and Demonbreun under grounds.

    This isn’t our Nashville anymore. What made Nashville what it was, was small town charm. Growing with the times is one thing and necessary, but growing so inclusive and money hungry touristy has caused it to lose what made it special. Take a page out of Brad Pasleys book and use your resources to build something sustainable that will last and help the real problems here instead of building bigger buildings to cover them up so no one can see them

And let me guess that all the older generations is complaining like they do in every city that's growing. They want to keep that country small town boring feeling.

    This should be a wonderful addition to Nashville. It is my observation that cities like people either grow or die. I remember when the L&C tower was not only the tallest but the only skyscraper in Nashville. Then the National Life building, known today as the Tennessee tower was completed in 1970, I was 10, and many said Nashville had lost its way, may as well be in NYC or Chicago, and predicted the worse. LOL

    I moved here from Colorado to be closer to my family. I’m honestly disappointed with the roads conditions here. Additionally I live in the Gulch and it’s basically just tourist, party buses and drunken tourists. My lease is up in March 2025. Unfortunately I will be leaving the state as I’m really disappointed that the state doesn’t make any significant investments into its infrastructure.

    Tennessee puts all it money into Nashville, while it neglect it other cities. I could think of how the people in Memphis feel, who use to be the largest city in Tennessee.
    Than the issue with crime in the state of Tennessee.
    I like to think that North Carolina is better at distributing it money across the state.
    Like Charlotte is really growing! But Raleigh is allow to share in this growth as well.
    I personally like Raleigh as a city compared to Charlotte. It still has that personal southern charm. Nothing on Richmond level though.
    And Charlotte and North Carolina can't compare to Nashville (Memphis) and Tennessee when it comes to Tourism and Entertainment! The mountains and the venues for just having a real good time.

    • @qolspony
      @qolspony 5 месяцев назад

      If Memphis was treated like Raleigh, I personally think Tennessee will surpass North Carolina. It has the bones.
      The Mississippi. The mountains. A commuter rail, which beats the light rail in Charlotte.
      It has much nicer looking cities than NC. Knoxville is a Jewel.
      But Tennessee does not promote itself like NC, which is sad.
      Tennessee is simply BEAUTIFUL.

    • @richh650
      @richh650 3 месяца назад

      @@qolspony North Carolina has higher and more mountains, more lakes, large cities, more towns, less poverty, and of course, the beautiful Atlantic ocean as well. There are no eastern US states with more natural beauty than North Carolina.

    • @qolspony
      @qolspony 3 месяца назад

      @richh650 This is completely different of what I just said. While Tennessee is about Entertainment and Tourism, North Carolina is about Education, Health and Business/Finance.
      Tennessee is more scenic than North Carolina by far. It is where many North Carolinans go on long trips unless they on the shoreline, than it is myrtle Beach. There also Charleston for history, which NC simply don't offer.
      Virginia has a little of both of these. Virginia Beach, the Shipyard, Navy and NOVA.

    • @crhodes8377
      @crhodes8377 Месяц назад +1

      Memphis is one crime pothole. Nashville is a smaller crime pothole but nicer. I like East Tennessee. But Tennessee doesnt compare to North Carolina. NC has mountains and the Ocean. Better schools, infrastructure, less crime, better healthcare etc. Ive lived in both states and Ilike both but NC gets my vote. Virginia is alot like NC also having Mountains and Ocean.

    • @qolspony
      @qolspony Месяц назад

      @@crhodes8377 Virginia is much more expensive though. And Tennessee Mountains are more beautiful. It cities are more beautiful. Some of Virginia cities are more beautiful. But North Carolina cities are pretty bland and they resemble each other greatly.
      I don't know what Tennessee is known for. But NC is known as the BARE MINIMUM. It's acceptable! But it isn't the best.
      I do agree that crime is less in North Carolina. The crime rate is the fourth worse in Tennessee. But it is still very beautiful.
