It's very funny to me that with the HD collections, Square Enix embraced the mentality of "Just watch the cutscenes on RUclips" and put that on a disc lmao

I’m old enough to remember they called it “Three Five Eight Days Over Two” in the Disney Channel ad

This isn’t a very complicated series to enjoy, honestly.

I think Kingdom Hearts is hard to get into, but once you do, it's a blast. It is hard to convince people to get into it, but once they do, they realize it's (kinda) worth it.

KH: re:coded and KH Days are the only half-decent KH games to come out in the past 15 years. That’s sad. And yet, these are the hardest games to get your hands on.

No way guy said Re:Coded is better than say, Dream Drop Distance

@@PeruvianPotatoI think it is better, but I guess I would probably rank the 3DS game just behind the DS titles.

I dunno, Birth by Sleep was also pretty good. Also, Days and Re:Coded aren't actually that hard to get. It's just annoying to have to pull out an old console just to play games that aren't on newer ones. At the same time, there's also KHMelonMix, which aims to modernize Days, and later, Re:Coded as well.

11:23 They actually DID eventually make a cutscene version of the battle for the PS4 version (and by extension all future versions) of 1.5+2.5, although iirc it's considered free dlc.

That's true, but even then the scene they added doesn't really capture what I like about the actual boss fight. Its cool they went back and did something at least

Original COM is basically just as left behind. The remake gameplaywise has barely anything to do with it besides the broad mechanical strokes, but it still plays nothing like it.(And I am in the camp that says it plays worse for the actually important battles, which are the bosses. Especially in the 60FPS version that is currently available that makes certain enemy actions twice)
23:01 Honestly, I share a similar issue with this "postgame world", both for the same and for diffrent reasons. It's a cool idea, but it is just put together so sloppily. I suppose these rooms are what the worlds from COM would look like if you were able to look past the illusion and that's neat. It has the atmosphere it wants to have, it is an artificial bunch of events and people who are not real and if we didn't know better, we would think Data Sora is going nuts.
But like, this is really where it ends with the positives. In destiny islands, one of the endings for some reason gives you a short cutscene from Riku's perspective in KH1 that does not say anything. So like, what was that about? It's the most pointless optional unlock ever. The plot goes on and on about Data Sora maybe remembering the mainstory afterall, he never does. Then Data Roxas yapping about nonsense for half an hour, which leads to him stealing the conclusion from actual Roxas in a completely unearned way. When you get all endingcards, you get a bonus cutscene where he randomly steps out of Sora for a bit(I think this is meant to take place before the fight, but that is impossible in practice) and completely unrelated characters show up to give you some equipment because lol. The ending has the most pointless message...that Mickey for some reason gets too. Even tho Data Sora did all the tests and he didn't. What were the tests for anyways? Data Sora is never going to reappear anyways. I know the game says that it was to test if actual Sora could take it or whatever...but the point of the mainstory was that they are distinct individuals, so this proves nothing. What even happens to Data Namine? Does she just delete herself, like Data Roxas was going to if he wasn't convinced to stay?
Yeah, I am the strongest soldier of the Re:Coded story, but this additional chapter is the worst part, partially because it just wants to connect to the overarching narrative at any cost, even tho that one is pretty much burnt toast at this point anyways(I mean, literally next game is 3D. That is fairly dire). Ironically, this is the only chapter that the casual fan is going to like, because the overarching narrative is somehow holy enough to declare this entire game nigh unplayable for not being relevant...while people were praising BBS, which was always a pain to play for me at least.
