    • @FredricF
      @FredricF 6 лет назад +10

      It's actually definite article, as in "the white arrow" and "the black arrow". Just nitpicking a little.

    • @zapfanzapfan
      @zapfanzapfan 6 лет назад +18

      Well, the names aren't really grammatically correct to begin with, "the white arrow" would be "vita pilen" or even "den vita pilen". Vitpil is also a plant, "vitpilen" in that sense is definite article. Nitpicking back :-)

    • @gofer9156
      @gofer9156 6 лет назад +5

      It's for the same reasons they don't call it "the face book", but just "facebook". the white arrow = white-arrow.

    You know Jay takes his motorcycle gear seriously when you see the excess skin off his neck flapping as he talks due to having his full-face helmet correctly cinched. Seen too-many people not cinching the D-ring strap correctly and seen too-many helmets fly off due to this. Good stuff, Jay. Love how he's bringing motorcycles closer to a younger audience and actually talking about motorcycles not very common in the USA.

    In Sweden we like to push words together, so Vitpilen is actually the two words Vit and Pilen meaning the White Arrow, Svart is Black and Silver is Silver. Vit is pronounced Veet and Pilen would be Peelen.

    • @SteefH82
      @SteefH82 6 лет назад +15

      Also the En at the end of Pilen is a gramatical thing where it corresponds to using The before the word, so Pil is Arrow and En means you should have a The in front

    I'm only 12 minutes in but I'm amazed, given the hassle Jay gave the guys about the name, that the Husky reps didn't explain what Vitpilen and Svartpilen means ("White Arrow" and "Black Arrow" in case you didn't know....). Looking forward to having a go on one of these myself.....

    • @davidj9804
      @davidj9804 5 лет назад +3

      Probably because its a stupid freakin name. Jay was just trying to help them make some $!! They could've easily called them the "Black Arrow" & "White Arrow" im going for a ride on the White Arrow sonds better than.. hey im going for a ride on my Vitpilen. 👉Husqvarna if you're reading these comments, you should change it for 2020 unless you named it Vit & Svart as a conversation factor 🤔

    Just used a 401 as my daily rider for around 6 months. Absolutely great. No major issues encountered. I wish the tank was a bit bigger, the awkward notch needs getting used to when gripping the tank. The fuel capacity of the small tank affects range as well. Overall, these Husky bikes are great.

    No comment on the 401 after riding it?
    I had a 2011 ZX10R with a lot of power and also a 2009 Husqvarna SM510R with very light weight and perfect suspension. I can tell you that, for me, the lighter 500cc bike was a lot more fun on the road.
    Why? Because you could squeeze it till the last drop of power was used and still be within reasonable speeds, while the ZX10R was at Autobahn speeds in the first gear.
    For me big cc bikes are for cruising, touring with a pillion or when talking about sports bikes for the track. On the road I prefer light bikes with good suspension and enough power to have fun.

    First off, I appreciate Jay bringing bike awareness to more people. That typed, two nitpicks: One, you drive cars, pilot boats and ride bikes. Second, the bike with the longest continuous production is the Royal Enfield, which also happens to be evolving very quickly - and (relatively) recently opened a new facility in Britain - both for engineering and production. I just watched another video on the new Husqvarnas and I'm really interested in these. I like the two reps from the company in this video. Thanks for producing this video!

    We all know these Husqvarna 'bikes are about as Swedish as the Vienna Boy's Choir, and prior to that were made by MV Agusta, before being bought by BMW. However, in each case
    Husky always improved the donor bike / engine considerably, often making more power and sporting classy design and components. The Nuda is a prime example, as is their current range of off-road competition bikes. I've got a Husky in the garage and it's definitely got something. As long as they keep doing that I don't mind who the parent company is.

    Wonderful review. I saw a 701 the other day and found it beautifully designed. You got to see it in the metal. I’m 74 and was a beginner rider on my sister’s 400 Yamaha when I was in my 40’s and this has gotten me thinking about the 401. Yes, they hit the mark for those design oriented folks. There’s a lot of subtle details in the design of these bikes. For example, the front turn indicator lenses look like faceted crystals.

    Ive allways admired Husqvarna's dirt bikes, they were allways top notch, its really exciting that they've put out a line of street bikes that preform as well as their off road machines. i've never thought that jay has ever done a show on a bike except out of having an honest interest in them . As Jay has enough to buy whatever bike he wants, not to mention decades of experiece riding & working on them, his interest in any bike always seems to me to be genuine & his opinion on any particular bike is allways well informed. His endorsement has to be earned through making a unique or quality product that meets some pretty high as well as practicle standards.

    I rented a 701 enduro in colorado and it was amazing. It power wheelied very easily (a bit less on pikes peak as air was getting thinner...). Was awesome in the trails, great on the road. People forget the importance of power to weight ratios. With that said I think their 701 should be at least 2k cheaper if they want to sell a bit of volume.
