  • I have collected the various 1/64th scale General Lees for a very long time, and few have had an interesting backstory like these cars have.
Over the past four or so years, I have acquired around 40 Johnny Lightning factory reject General Lees from several different sellers across the United States.
The story I have gotten from each seller is that these cars were found in a trash dump after being tossed in the reject bin at a Johnny Lighting manufacturing plant, or taken out of the trash straight at the factory. They are all series 3 (R3) cars with similar chassis stamping/codes, all have the same heavy paint damage, and all also appear to have numerous factory errors (like paint issues, off-color bodies, and/or broken parts like push bars and axles). I have bought these cars from three separate sellers, in three separate states, and they all told a similar backstory on the cars' origins....so I am reporting their history to the best of my knowledge and information I have tracked from each of the previous owners. If you know about these cars, or even have some, hit me up in the comments or send me a DM as I would love to know more!
