  • It’s raining cats and dogs today at the farm which is producing a few interesting observations. Let’s talk soil health and what a “food as medicine” movement might look like.

I saw a garden show about an old lady that for years couldn't work the soil . She started doing what she called the hay method . She would every year spread as much organic hay over the garden area as she could . It fed the soil and killed weeds ... she just pulled back a little wherever she wanted to plant . What ever you're doing looks like it works very good ! God Bless !!!

Yes, I’m familiar with the Ruth Stout method - a few animals over top the hay with diverse cover crops in the off-season, and we’d be all squared up! God bless you as well, William!

I dream of a million autonomous small family farms all over this country doing the quiet, humble work of soil restoration, the dividends of which produce sound minds, bodies, families, and communities, the by-products of which thrust a corrupt establishment into complete and utter powerless irrelevance.

Love ya work! Mate keep going with your work, you have shown me some incredible results from what you’ve done on your five acre test plot. It’s fantastic and exciting, I’m past my farming days now. I follow a lot of channels in this space and I’m excited by all of them, but some of the content you’re putting out is very impressive and amazing. Keep it up brother, I’ll be definitely checking it out.😊

Hey, thanks for following and for the encouragement in our journey. Easy to take credit, but it really is a family/community effort on our place!🤠

Moving the critters so they harvest their own meals, rather than using petroleum to plant, harvest, process, store, and feed the animals' food and then they spread their own manure and urine to fertilize the soil, rather than paying money to buy and apply chemical fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and all the machines to do these tasks,... and get more nutritionally dense foods with better flavor... the farmer can make a respectable living instead of owing the bank for all the high cost inputs...

Это у вас всегда зима такая? А у нас в Минске снег, холодно -11°С. Но завтра потеплеет до ноля, на пару дней. Погреемся😊

No, winter has been very wild with the El Niño pattern we’re in. We’re usually much colder! Now tomorrow AM we’re supposed to hit 3°F, so anything’s possible nowadays!
