I noticed in the other cycles they were able to raise interest rates to stop inflation. We are now 30,000,000,000,000.00 in debt and 2% interest rate on that number is a TON of extra debt. So according to your machine you would have to print a TON of extra money to make up for that debt. Which only compounds the problem. How is this going to get balanced with this amount of debt? Do people's 401k have to get destroyed in order to slow growth? so we can pay down debt? We were able to save the prior generations by creating roads and bridges, then computers, now "greenish" energy the problem I see with that is you are losing jobs by getting rid of oil jobs. Will there be something else besides a war that can create jobs?
replace oil jobs with green and clean jobs, automate jobs and give those workers tech oriented jobs related to the disciplines being automated,, develop new economic models that allow for money making in innovate ways - eg play to earn, where people make crypto based money inside video games which has real world value. we humans will find our way, it's just a matter of time.

Your book is just awesome but I was utterly disappointed by the fact that you have just covered the history of last 400 years . Although 400 years of history has served the main purpose of the book but I would definitely appreciate if you would cover more time .
I believe there are different cycles within cycles and when those cycles intersect to begin another cycle it's a much larger cycle. What i mean is the cycle that Oswald Spengler theorized is a large cycle then the cycle of Strauss-Howe but when those cycles end at once it's the beginning of a new era on bother level with that said i believe there's even larger cycles that these fall into. The most important is the Biblical cycles.
I don’t think you can claim the US has had an empire, with no disrespect, but an empire is colonial rule over a large number of countries. The US has very few territories with exception of a few islands similar to what the British now have. Don’t forget during the British empire they ruled over a quarter of the globe and the Dutch empire had similarly large colonies. Not sure what is taught in US schools but I get the feeling that most Americans think that the US is the greatest empire to have ever been which simply is not true. If anything the US is at the very start of world dominance and beginning of an empire if it can pull it off, but certainly has not been and is not an empire currently.
While there are certain inevitabilities to debt and credit cycles, Ray Dalio has gotten too into reading tea leaves and it's practically divination at this point. The world is completely different from how it was in the past. Nobody knows how the big picture is going to play out.
