always check your staging! Also, you didn't "turn way too early". It's actually more efficient to do a proper gravity turn where you lean the rocket gradually until you're entirely horizontal, instead of flying up and *then* sideways I've been a long-time fan of KSP, I hope you make more of these videos!
I'm glad i checked staging so early into the flight, usually i mess it up way way later in the flight lol Also yeah, but i finished that turn way earlier than I would have liked. Fortunately it didn't require a relaunch!
@@ReidCaptain actually, you should have done it earlier! Generally if you are trying to do a efficient gravity turn you start turning at 2000(or less) feet. You then keep gradually turning, and continue turning the entire flight into orbit.
@@ReidCaptain I aim to be at 45° on the nav ball by 10,000 meters and aim to be at 75° by 50,000 meters then flatten out at 70,000 meters. I would also recommend using the maneuver maker as it gives you a much more circular orbit!
If you play KSP you slowly start to realise orbital mechanics (at least single body physics, n body is a little more complicated) are remarkably simple.

I've never seen a more complicated way of interplanetary transport just warp to a good transfer window with a dune to schedule a maneuver and that's it!
Rip that gravity turn. for the most efficient launch trajectory you should be aiming to be at 45 degrees by 10000 meters and then continue nosing over. After getting to 45 deg there is a way to just go by eye but it takes a lot of practice so I would suggest to just try to get over to 60 deg and then once your apoapsis is up to 90 km just set a maneuver at apoapsis to get into a stable orbit.

Just so you know, when performing a gravity turn you can actually start turning when your speed is as low as 30m/s. Tilt approx. 5 degrees, then slowly follow the prograde marker until you’re pointing 45 deg. off vertical at around 10km height. Then follow prograde until your apoapsis is the desired height
Hello! Loved the video! Just a simple tip: if you do your escape burn and transfer at the same time, you save a ton of fuel. Imagine it like a right angle triangle. What you did is do the 2 small sides, when you could have done directly the hypothenuse which is smaller

9:50 you can know what your period is if you click on the purple button on the bottom left corner, you will see the data of your apoapsis, periapsis, the time you have left before reaching those points and the period.
once you reach certain distance from kerbin, the atmosphere is so low it barely slows you down. so it's better to save fuel on good ascend curve. (i believe it's something like 20km which you wont be there for too long)
When using side fuel tanks make sure to use fuel lines pumping fuel to main rocket this way you drastically increase range dumping empty tanks and engines
Request: Whenever you put a timestamp in the video, can you also put it in the description? I only ask this because when you do that, it updates the video seekbar automatically to break the video off at the timestamp so you can jump to it quicker and with more precision.
