We visited the Okanagon valley 10 years ago, in the fall. Very beautiful, with fantastic wines. I highly recommend a trip north of the border.

I hate it when documentaries waste so much time talking about soil types, when that makes up such a tiny part of the overall wine. Minerality doesn't come from soil minerals.

Yes but it makes a huge difference in the wines acid structure, ripening behaviour, root behaviour, water retention, disease resistance, and the general workability and longevity of the vineyard. Soil is quite the rabbit hole of information, and its importance feels simultaneously under and overstated somehow lol.
