I've seen this during an expedition to Sweden's highest mountain. It was really really beautiful to see. It was straight over us during a time. You have to be there to understand its true beauty!
I've seen this once in my life. When I was about 5. Tonight, I caught a glimpse of something in the sky, out of the corner of my eyes. When I looked, it was just some oddly coloured clouds. I had to come watch these videos to make myself happier.
I've seen lights equally intense like this once while on a walk at midnight, by pure chance. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed :)
CNder77 Sun's "creation". But if you want to pick and choose, don't stop at the Northern Lights. Smallpox. God's creation so spotty. Filling the skin with those bumps.

Its so beautiful and calming, i would love for a chance to see this, i would lay down and look up while listening to the last 40 seconds of journeys end from the skyrim OST
It's absolutely magic! One of the best places to see northern lights is in Kangerlussuaq, West Greenland, at the arctic circle. The stable inland climate and dry air brings many days with clear skies. The winter-darkness at the arctic circle makes the northern lights visible all day.
How they move are very different. They can be calm and almost none moving, or they can dance across the sky like a snake in the sand. Quite amazing to watch.
I live in northern Norway - well inside in the Arctic Circle - and I have the pleasure of seeing this on a fairly regular basis in the winter. The first time you see it it's amazing. The second time you see it, it's amazing. It never grows boring. What's really special to see is the red/yellow northern lights. I've only seen those twice. And to answer some of the questions about the place being littered with stoners looking upward - well no, because it's way too cold up here to do that!
i know a lot of people probably won't believe me, but i saw the northern lights on a trip to upstate new york back in 2005. it was late at night towards the end of winter. i couldn't believe i was seeing it, because i know it's rare to see it in ny. i consider myself lucky to see such a beautiful event.
northern lights ...most beautiful, most mysterious though science gave reasons to us,, even good dreams would fail to dream of this...its natural for me to feel amazed only by viewing the lightnings.
I live in the northern part of Sweden in a small city called Gällivare, and I have seen the northern lights since I was a kid :) In the winter the sun actually never rises over the horizon, so it's dark 24/7. Sometimes you see the northern lights for just a few minutes, but if you're lucky it can last the whole night. The best time to see it is maybe from November to February and when it's really, really cold outside. Maybe -20C to -35C degrees. Hope you get the chance to see it- It's awesome!
I live in Alberta and on a cool clear, clear dark night, when we where camping the stars would be out we would watch the northern lights it was beautiful
i've seen the aurora borealis and this doesnt do them justice, nothing cam compare to looking up into the sky to see a green curtain dancing in the stars, its beautiful, and i hope to see them again one day.
One day I would love to see this in real life.
