Roughest Day in the WRC This Year: Non-Stop Drama in Greece

Kalle Rovanperä is on course for a remarkable victory at EKO Acropolis Rally Greece after Saturday’s brutal penultimate leg forced fellow challengers Thierry Neuville and Sébastien Ogier into retirement.
A furious fight in the morning became a matter of survival this afternoon as heat and punishing rock-strewn roads took a heavy toll in this 10th fixture of the FIA World Rally Championship season.
Neuville was 10.9sec clear when he thumped a hole and shattered his Hyundai i20 N’s front-right suspension on the first stage of the afternoon loop. He had trailed championship leader Rovanperä by 36 points coming into this fixture, round 10 of 13.
His demise left Ogier in control but the Frenchman, who entered the final Eleftherohori stage 12.4sec ahead of team-mate Rovanperä, swiped a rock which destroyed the rear-left suspension on his Toyota GR Yaris. He retired on the final road section while Rovanperä romped to the top.

They forgot to mention that Mikkelsen who had 3 punctures yesterday is now leading WRC2 by less than a second to Gus Greensmith. Pajri has retired after stopping on the liaison. Yohan Rossel has dropped to 3rd after getting a puncture on the final stage.

Hyundai suspension failures unfortunately not uncommon, but you know it's rough when you have a Toyota suspension failure, which is rare. Would love to know what actually failed on Ogier's car. Looked like it may have been the Reiger suspension damper.

M-Sport getting to the last day with 5/6 cars entered🫣, in the fight possibly for a podium in WRC2 with both Munster and Fourmaux, and then Virves and Prokop in a fight for 9th, and Ott/Martin only a few minutes out in the fight for a podium spot👀Gutted PLL didnt even get to start past the super special though😔

Only three manufacturers and now there are rumors that M-Sport is leaving? Why is the FIA ruining the WRC?
Apparently M-Sport want 3-4 cars starting every rally next year. And Subaru is interested in a return down the line. But for sure the FIA needs to figure out how to attract more manufacturers to the sport again.

Great to see him and Candito still have the top pace to be in these Rally1 rocket ships. Hopefully we get to see him as a driver in some capacity next season but we'll have to see with Teemu now getting the drive in Chile, plus Munster has driven every car this season besides a Rally3, Lets see what he can do in the Puma in Chile🤞🙏 @@RedBullRally
