Darn, The Devils was my most anticipated book. We'll see.
35:52 cosplaying as a reader that would enjoy books like this 😂 it’s a vibe
If you haven't seen the movie adaptation of Misery, I highly recommend it. Kathy Bates' Oscar-winning performance as the obsessed fan is chilling and wonderful!
Thanks for the review on deadpool i guess ... ?
Amazing characterization and perfect and witty prose, without much compelling premises or plot? The Devils sounds pretty much as The Blade Itself to me😏
At least, I really hope so. It’s the only 2025 book release I would sell my soul to have in my hands😂
Currently reading Carrie, couldn't agree more
What also made Misery so amazing was that it was a direct allegory to his fans hating on his previous novel, "Eyes of the Dragon" a straight up fantasy. His fanbase was mad because he ventured away from horror, and so he wrote Misery as a commentary on an author being stuck in his typecast because of a rapid fanbase.
"A blade that could cut paper." maybe for the sharpness of wit.
I gasped when I heard you give 3 ⭐ to the Devils haha. I read it too and was a bit more generous than you but agreed, it’s fantastically written but I never quite connected with the characters or wasn’t that invested in the plot… you make me feel more validated in my opinion as a fellow Abercrombie superfan 😃 I will still buy all the editions, of course
glad to know im not alone on ava reid's books
Finally, someone who sees the problem with Ava Reid's books and dislikes them! I feel like I've been shouting into a void about all the problems there. 😂
I haven’t read her books but know people who like them. I’m curious what are we talking around here?
For a second there I was like, "Oh, should I maybe not have DNF'D The Last Tale of the Flower Bride after 2 chapters?" but then you said Mona Awad and I thought, "Nope, made the right choice." 😂
Your thoughts on The Devils are quite interesting and match up to the vibes I'm getting from it, which is making me excited to read a less serious, more ridiculous romp by Joe. I was miserable throughout Deadpool 3 though 😂
I'm currently downloading "we'll prescribe you a cat" from your suggestion. It's interesting hearing your take on Steven King books. I have to admit that I have only had the experience of visual media when it comes to his work, which I understand isn't always a faithful adaptation.
"This wrap up is a little bit late" ma'am we are approaching 2025
What changed your mind back on ava reid?
Okay...I'm one of those people who only...well, I could say that I'm only came for your thoughts on Blood Over Bright Haven, but I'd be lying (since The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates and Will of the manynow, first off, I would definitely not mind BOBH being a duology because I think it's that's good, but hey 🤷🏿♂️, I came mostly for Liene's honest opinion
For Stephanie Garber's books, maybe it's because you are a reader with a strong critical eye. From what I gather from your reviews, you probably don't really turn your mind off to read books, such as popcorn reads. Or at least you don't do that very often. So when you read Caraval, you like pretending to be a reader that can just go with the flow of the story. I'm not sure if this is making that much sense, given that you can still tell it's a bad book. But I tried to get there. xD
wow AI speech translation is so weird xD
