My dad offered me guitars and endless musical wishes I had, I still testified against him and I always kept singing and playing. Bought my first guitar at 17 and worked as a dishwasher and paid for my singing lessons.
You didn’t have to stop singing because of this.
No, you’re right, I didn’t. But I thought I did, the point is though that I started doing what I love again.

There you are! I was wondering where you were...You have a beautiful voice....you are beautiful inside and out and I look forward to your song everyday! Also...I was told as a child that I can't do that when I asked and my mom later told me that they couldn't afford whatever it was....later in life I told my daughter "you can't" and she was about 7 when she said, "My teacher told us that our parents or someone might tell us that we can't but don't listen, but to go on ahead and try and do what our dreams and hopes tell us...don't ever let anyone tell us that we can't......after that day, I never did tell her that she couldn't again. I was continually amazed as she accomplished each thing she went after. She broke the abusive chain of telling a kid they can't...a kid is either going to quit trying and believe what the parent says or they are going to "show" the parent that they can do it! Bottom line, parents really do want to be a good parent, but there wasn't anyway to know how to parent in my and your parents day (no internet to learn)....I am grateful for that teacher that helped my daughter!
Also...I know your point was about your parents using you in their court to gain custody of you. All of us humans are growing and learning and making continual mistakes in the process. It is hard to be a parent at the same time, because you are responsible for this little child and one slip or something you say can really mess them up...my daughter has told me several things I said or did that hurt her...so painful to know I was responsible for that happening. I feel you pain and your moms pain for saying what she said to you. Again, being a human is so hard, but the most difficult thing is trying not to judge others, because we are really judging ourselves, we are all one and we will all feel everything each other feels...some day when we transition and become one again.
I can not relate but my daughter can be facing same thing.
Fighting and divorced in front of a child is traumatized.
Later one i want to be there for my daughter
But at look of her Dad he is good and loving father. Was just meant to be

Girrll trauma everybody is experienced differently live come with hardship and easy that just a fact.
Aome have beautiful young age later one face something we are all to be tested.
