I wasn't so sure about this movie when I first saw the trailers, I didn't think it could be as good as the live action Transformers since I loved those movies, I loved the Shia ones more than the ones with Mark Walhburg, but now after watching your review, I'm going to have to see it.

as much as I want to try this out with my kids since my 8yrs old got an eye-crash on this movie's preview, I am also baffled that it's another awesome original series of childhood anime being re-written by none-existed 'first story.' man... I'm not so sure.
'being re-written by none-existed 'first story.' But both Orion, and Megatron/D-16 have an extensive backstory in several continuities. Every single story element/arc you see in this movie was taken from several different already exsisting TF continuities. XD Megatron's low class D-16 mining bot origin came from the Transformers IDW series. Orion being a low class manual labourer from G1 (he was originally a dock worker before he became a Prime) Them being sworn brothers and trying to oppose the corrupt government led by a Flase Prime is form the Aligned continuity, form IDW, and TFP. Cogless bots unable to transform during the rule of the Quintessons is from the G1 series, just like the Quintessons themselves. TF One's Sentinel is reminiscent of TFA's interpretation of the character (blue/gold design, with huge chin, narcissistic asshole) with little influences from the Aligned continuity sprinkled in (him posessing the title of Prime without having the Matrix) Mgatron killing Orion before he was rebuilt as Optimus Prime to house the Matrix of leadership is a story arc from the G1 series. TF One had done nothing new. They did not invent a nonexistent backstory for these characters. They just used previous TF lore to create their own world/story from it.
You think the original transformers was an anime, and you apparently know absolutely none of the pre-existing lore. I don't think you're qualified to speak on this.

I did, but I don’t even remember if I saw any of the sequels…which can’t be a good sign.
