Omgggg as a kid I sunk HOURS into these on Sega Genesis. They really were incredible for their time. If fact I still have them along with my original system.
I’m tempted..I actually still have both of these for the snes, Lion King was super hard back then, maybe I’ll get it for the switch and finally beat it 👌
I agree that a compilation should have them all. I would have liked it a lot more. I'm also a big fan of the rewind feature. Jordan i enjoy your humor lol🤭🤘
When they first announced it, I thought it would be a solid remake, as it was in the case of Ducktales. I'm sitting on the fence. The good thing is that it has physical version.
I have extreme nostalgia for both of these games. I remember playing both of these games at my grandmas house over and over until I beat them both. They are really fun classic games
SwitchWatch honestly I enjoyed them both a lot. Aladdin probably has a slight nudge over Lion King but that’s not a knock on Lion King at all. They are both great old school fun.
Nice job Jordan. I never played these when I was younger either but damn I love 16 bit games and DAMN some of these games are gorgeous. A definite physical buy, even though the snes Aladdin and the game gear stuff but still....it’s a great collection. I think at least. ;) also, I think these guys did a pretty good job of choosing the games that were included EXCEPT the two game boy games that are the same except for color. That’s week.
Great review Jordan, my copy is in the post, looking forward to this, although what we would all love is a triple pack of QuackShot, Castle of Illusion and World of Illusion, C’Mon Disney!

Not a Disney fan so, "Computer says nah" There were some UK games on the Amiga and Atari ST that I wish Nintendo would bring back for the Switch - Magic Pockets, Wonder Dog, Zool and the Chaos Engine series.
@@SwitchWatch doing great! Been enjoying Luigi's Mansion 3 and would like to try out 2 player mode soon. Still trying to get use to the accuracy of the poltergust
Like some others have said, I’ll also probably wait till the price drops before I consider picking this set up. I don’t have any real nostalgia for either of these games, they just weren’t within my interests back then when they originally came out on the SNES/Genesis. $29.99 just seems way off the mark. $19.99 would have been more reasonable for day 1, but I’d like to see it drop even below that. It’s too bad they didn’t get the SNES version for Aladdin on this too, for completions sake. Most of my memories of that game came from one of my childhood friends having the SNES version. The one compilation set i want AND need on the Switch is the Disney Afternoon Collection. Now those games I have major nostalgia for! It’s too bad we’ll probably never get It though from the whole thing with rights leaving Capcom. It made no sense they never put it on the Switch back when they still had the rights. I mean those games were on Nintendo consoles after all?? Not to mention tons of people were asking for it on the Switch constantly...So weird...
I used to have a plug and play controller I got at k mart for $20 and I got to play all of these and more with nothing more than a tv. This is a bit expensive for a digital collection you can buy for $20 when you can get a physical controller with all of these.
I too would have liked to see more versions of the games. I'm sure licensing rather than quality concerns are the issue here as if it was about quality the Gameboy versions wouldn't be the top of the list to include. Also, the "colour version" of both games seems to be Super Gameboy emulation, with a questionable palette used for Aladdin. It must be one of the default palettes. I wish that were used as a filter like in Konami's Castlevania Collection instead of being passed off as a separate version.
I looked into it afterwards and the majority of the other versions were also done by the same studio as these ones, so I'm not sure if it's licensing actually. Probably they just didn't have the manpower to put them in.
I would like to say I have a ton of nostalgia for Lion King... but I only really have nostalgia for the first and second level xD never made it past them in kindergarten. I have since beaten the game, but don't have nostalgia for the rest of the game as a result.
At least an honest review. Everything I read and saw yesterday was hype, but I don't understand this "incomplete" collection. I loved these games in the 90s, but they are hard af. I still own them, so I will not buy this Collection. I have almost all Games from the Konami Collections too, but these collections were worth it, because you got a complete package.
I actually think it needed more for the price tag too to be honest.. more disney games in the package.. I think they are going to judge sales of this and then maybe do a castle of illusion package, and so on.. But they have marked it at the wrong price.. it is 52$ in AU.. Ok ok, most of us have access to the US Eshop where it's 29.95, but for me, this is 19.99 retail, MAX, 9.99 sale. I was willing to get it physical for the 46.99 AU, cause, well, physical, but I did cancel that as I said before.. Definitely one for an Xmas sale or something.
I got this day one n haven't played it but rewind feature is a must for these old school games especially Mega Man Classic Collection sheesh that game is rough lol
@@SwitchWatch Rare Replay had more, the Sega Genesis collection had more. Disney is giving us two-ish okay games, that were great for their time, for $30. They can keep it.
Honestly, I would have been perfectly content with this compilation just being the SNES and MegaDrive versions, but even with all this crap they DID include the price is still outrageous.
SwitchWatch its beyond expensive to be frank. Its a robbery. These games are worth 2.99 at best. I thought of getting it for nostalgia but hell no I aint paying that. Ill rather give my money to Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight and a few other games

Great accent.

I'll be getting this as soon as I find it at a yard sale for under 5 bucks
Here we have Car boot sales, can always find some great gems.

SwitchWatch already got it 👍
Which of the games do you prefer?

Is $15 for this game and Umihara Kawase $20 a good deal?
Hmmmmm... Maybe.

Hope you have a good time with it Paul. I'd just love a full collection of all their 16-bit games. If Sega can do it, I'm sure Disney can!
Hey I want the Lion King Game more than Aladdin though and I was glad they combine both games into one carriage.
Yea its all good as it's all in one place 😀
Just wish you can get aladdin onlye and is full screen

Great stuff indeed!
I only picked it up to beat the stampede level. I couldn't beat it when I was a kid.
Believe it or not, they are re-packaging this game with The Jungle Book.
Will be buying this when it’s a more reasonable price or they add the rest of the games to it
Don’t blame you man
Not happening as far as the Capcom version of Aladdin goes. The Genesis version was better anyway.
You might as well just buy it if you really like these games the price isnt going down anytime soon..
@@Marvel_vs_Capcom84 Its £18.99 on UK Amazon now, I presume its dropped on US side too.
@@SpeccyHorace yes I guess it has
I'm sure you can play the DOS games on Internet Archive
Great. I had plans for Halloween. I’m now going to have to cancel them and try out dozens of crap DOS games in my web browser. Thanks!
nice that they include new features n the black white version though base on the price n all, i'll stick to Shantae for now unless they go on sale
How you doing buddy? Thanks for the comment m8

You're welcome Peter! Is this one on your radar?
I was considering it as a collectible, but the game don’t look very fun and I have zero nostalgia for these titles.
Interesting picking this up while strolling into GAME on boxing day and this be half price
Hopefully, that would be more reasonable haha
0:40 I have no clue what that word is??
Lauded?

20 would be better, but I’m thinking a tad cheaper than that

Yeah just too expensive man
It's great that they've done this. Hopefully, there will be a volume 2. Disney games during the 16-bit eras were great, except for Fantasia. Yikes.
I didn't even know there was a Fantasia game!
@@SwitchWatch It was on the Sega Genesis. Avoid it like the plague 🤢🤢🤢

I'M READY!
I do have a lot of nostalgia for the PC versions... but the 30 bucks price tag is the best cure for it.
Ha certainly the mist off putting thing about it
I break out my megadrive plenty for these two games alone so with this I wont need too
Indeed 😃
Is the “can’t wait to be king” level still impossible? I’m convinced satan himself designed and programmed that hell hole.
like the aaladin game on my genesis did not like lion king, not worth it to me, great review!
Cheers buddy!
Disney is being greedy. We get 16-bit era games included with Switch Online that costs only $20 per year.
Yep! And there's hardly any here. They're no A Link to the Past, Mario World of Super Metroid, that's for sure.
