80s electricity is like 50s radiation, 90s virtual reality, or 2000s nano-technology, no one knew how it worked, and it could do anything.
Couldn’t have said this better myself.
Lance Hendrickson, the patron saint of working actors
Better idea for this movie: killer spends years building up an immunity to electricity only to die from lethal injection.
The officer specifically requests a firing squad.
They do send him to the electric chair but because Jinkies died exactly as he wanted to, he has no "unfinished business" and is just. Gone.
That's not a movie. That's an SNL sketch at best... hahah. But here's a fun fact: Most states allowed condemned prisoners to choose their method of execution at the time... injection, gas, electrocution, hanging, firing squad. Most states still do allow a choice, but usually only between 2 or 3 methods, and these days there are more states moving to lethal injection only.
Watching these helped me find a movie I saw as a kid. I don't know why, but in the video for 4, when Allison mentioned the son, it made me think of that movie. All I remembered was a purple hand on a little boy's back and a medicine cabinet, but it turned out to be the first House movie.
Alternate title " Ernest Goes to The Afterlife as Electroman "
Brion James was in a lot of classic movies like Blade Runner, Tango & Cash, Red Heat and The Fifth Element. Sad that he died in 1999.
I know I saw all of these movies when I was a kid.
The serial killer was also the army general in The Fifth Element. You can't miss that weird-ass jawline.
He was in Tango and Cash ... S Stallone , K Russel , J Palance movie
He was one of the replicants in Blade Runner that Harrison Ford hunted
He was in 48 h and another 48 h with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte
And lot of other movies and TV series
Sadly died in 1999 at age 54
We could save a lot of time by just compiling a list of things Brion James wasn't in during the 80s and 90s. He has 174 acting credits on IMDB, despite dying at only 54 years old - and I'm sure they still missed a few.
You know what it should have been called? Pulse! :3
+Andy Semple Dont forget the red tape and red frequency.
+Andy Semple I know right
That was a short lived, but still very odd villain type they kept reusing for a while...
Quick, somebody get some red tape!
The plot to this film is exactly the same as "Shocker".
400KrispyKremes Which was released 6 months after House III.
Shocker is better.
17:45 The earliest known "cool story, bro", still in it's protogenetic stage.
Maybe his electricity went into the lamp in Amityville 4.
I never knew Lance Henriksen was that ripped.
Brion James has been quoted as saying that this was his favorite role. he was also in a tales from the crypt episode. he was a real slime ball in that episode
Doctor Feinstone iii
Oh wow, I just saw Brion James in an episode of "Highlander" the other day. What a coincidence, lol.
Everytime I hear the 'Movie Nights' theme, I always think of 'You belong to the city' by Glenn Frey.
+Trinidad Botello or 'Something in Your Eyes' by Corey 'Feld-Dog' Feldman, haha
+Trinidad Botello Me, too. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I forgot how much I love house 1 and 2....scary stuff when you're 8 yrs old...
i had no idea Brion James had passed away til earlier this year. much less no idea he had passed away in 1999.
Yes! I watched the horror show years ago on a copied tape on a shitty crt with my best friend. Max Jenki is awesome!
Also, this is basically the same thing as Shocker, which I loved back then.
With the recent passing of Larry Drake, I hope they do "Dr. Giggles" at some point.
House 3 is equivalent to Halloween 3: Season of the Witch.
Shocker 2: Electirc Boogaloo the first time that subtitle actually makes sense... well at least the elecric part.
Oh no! Bullets! My only weakness!
He died of..... **sunglasses** .....lead poisoning.
YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!
You guys need to watch Shocker! It's a great movie.
Ooh! Is Spider-Man in it?
(That was a horrible joke and I'm sorry.)
Hmm for some reason this movie makes me think of stepfarther, which reminds me that Lance Henricksen and Terry O'Quinn are amazing and underapreciated actors who were both on the pretty good and underapreciated show Millenium
Basicly this movies so fucking dumb i'm thinking of anything else
Your Intro Reminds Me Of Night Tracks That Came On In The 80s On WTBS
Love the cover art on the House films, the hand always looks awesome.
Btw, the evil laugh totally sounds like Skeletor...🙂
I saw Shocker in the theaters for free back when , i knew the theaters projectionist. (:
17:40 - Got her ass! Kid nailed her with that line... basically invented the "Cool story, bro" comeback.
omg no lie that sudden shocker sign almost sent me over lool. The random moment you learn you have sensitivities!
An Australian comedian named Rodney Rude who has the same laugh.. But he does it as an exclamation to a joke.
The dream control sort of makes sense. Electromagnetic fields have been shown to cause short term effects on brain function. Electromagnetic Brain Stimulation can be used to treat depression, bipolar disorder and sleep disorders.
I could swear I've seen that deranged villain somewhere before... maybe wearing an army cap and a loose tie...
That serial killer guy was in an episode of tales from the crypt that was pretty good
Wait - you never seen "SHOCKER"? This flick is fucking GOLD
This is a good, fun movie, the 80s had some good, surreal horror movies that employed inventive and bizarre practical effects.
Is no one going to mention that he has Skeletor's laugh?
I agree with Hendriksen whenever he says "That's the stupidest fuckin' thing I ever heard."
I don't know about Con Air but he was in Blade Runner. He was Leon in that.
+Ben Davis He was in The Fifth Element as well.
Martin Cann Thats right Freakin love that film.
Tango and cash
hijinio1000 Yep with his terrible British accent. Freakin priceless
That’s the Governa. !!
I guess I must be immune to electricity now after all that slendertone usage...
I never knew this version existed. I knew House and House 2, had no idea it went beyond that.
Oh look, it's Bishop from "Alien", Park Security Guard No.2 from "Kiss Meets The Phantom Of The Park" (also Ace Frehley's on-set coke dealer at the time) AKA Leon from "Blade Runner", Murray Bozinsky from "Riptide", Cyrus Redblock from "Star Trek: TNG", Nog from "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", and the Arquette siblings' father - all in one movie! Also, the bartender from "Back To The Future Part III" and somebody from "Night Court".
This comment doubles as my script proposal for "Ready Player Three, The Magic NFT".
I was all ready to see a House sequel I had never heard of before.... but I have actually seen this. It was on as a late night movie and was billed as The Horror Show.
I feel cheated and relieved all at once. :)
The execution room in this movie looks bizarrely similar to the room they're going to execute Bender in when they mistake him as Santa, is it just me?
They did put this out in the USA & Canada on BluRay/DVD combo under the Horror Show title. So, the hissing is likely absent, and the fullscreen certainly is.
Brion James is Leon in Blade Runner, he's in The Fifth Element, and Enemy Mine.
He's actually not a villain in The Fifth Element. Once in a lifetime, I guess.
Should’ve spent his time building an immunity to bullets then he’d be unstoppable
The way he laughs you’d he was reincarnated as Creeper Dreyfus Snowman in that Rudolph sequel
What if the happy ending was really Henrikson snapping?
Oh Hai Lupa! wow finally found your channel! keep up the good work!
It's great that you have Brad Jones and Phelous on your shows as well.
Aw~
That exploding head really reminds me of Garth marenghi's darkplace
It's electricity, we don't have to explain it.
You two should go watch "Shocker" like right NOW. ;-)
Phelous gives Lupa the shocker. Does that count?
He was not in con air hahah, my favorite part for sure
Diplomatic Immunity.
This movie definitely gave me nightmare on elm street vibes.
I see that Carnosaur box in the back!
His laugh reminds me of Skeletor.
This film improves quite a bit on Blu-ray. It's still not great, but I've long found it a strange oddity of the era, especially with the multiple titles. I remember seeing House IV at my video rental store and having no idea what happened to the third film. Wasn't until years later that I found out The Horror Show WAS House III. Now I just wish the rest of the films would hit Blu-ray.
Something about electric ghost serial killers in 1989. There was this and Shocker. Speaking of which, you should review Shocker sometime.
House 3: why we need to bring back beheadings
That turkey scene... Is this what inspired the director of Thankskilling?
It's a snake it's a bug pt 4 wen they shoot each other the henchman soo funny
Best intro eva!!
Forced-air furnace would have an electric fan and maybe electric ignition. Not the first thing I’d associate with electricity, of course.
In Argentina "House 3" is Ghosthouse, directed by Umberto Lenzi.
He was in The Fifth Element he was Bruce Willis's commanding officer
Oh no. I remember watching this movie.
I thought it was a crappy dream.
Actually fire is pretty electrical because it's a plasma and therefore most of it's atoms are ions. Fire can actually conduct electricity and react to magnets. I mean, this movie is still pretty fuckin stupid, but that one thing actually could make sense.
+Ethan Merrill (AniMerrill) Fire is not plasma or a state of matter. It's a chemical reaction.
+Citrakite Specifically it's a chemical reaction 'in the gaseous state', by definition if it's fire it's not plasma.
+Citrakite +Joseph Potter
Actua Lee, if a fire reaches a certain temperature/level of ionization, it is considered a plasma. True story.
What you're thinking of for Brion James being in goofy films, it was "Crimewave!", from none other than Sam Raimi. He's literally a walking 3 Stooges. No particular one, all of them.
You should totally make a Con-air movie nights episode
I swear the main horror character Max is a combination of the most iconic horror characters defo one of the best 80s horrors ive seen fuck what these two are saying
Great Review/Reaction Subscribing 100% Keep Up The Fantastic Work
R.I.P Aron Eisenberg.
pony tail!! so this is what happened to him after tango and cash
Cleaver dude’s got that teenage mutant ninja turtle disguise.
Con Air??? I don't remember him in that. He was in Tango & Cash, Blade Runner, Fifth Element but not as far as I know, in Con Air.
If you lick enough 9 volt batteries can you get an immunity to electricity?
I actually just watched this movie today from the Region Free Arrow Blu-Ray. I actually really enjoyed it. I thought it was atmospheric, creepy and down right raw as far as the violence and the antagonist "Meat Cleaver Max". A far better movie than "Shocker". Though I do like "Shocker", I thought it was a bit too hokey. "The Horror Show", in my opinion, was a balls to the wall fantasy/horror flick. For those that say this was a "Shocker" rip-off, guess what, this one came out first, albeit the same year, with the same set up, as did "The First Power" with Lou Diamond Philips, which was probably already in production with the others. Again, same basic premise, only this time it was the gas chamber and not the electric chair. Out of the two "electric antagonists" movies, I actually prefer "The Horror Show".
Huh so that explains Jack the Ripper from sanctuary
Lamps Hendrickson
What! Watch "Shocker." It held was a top place movie contender for a quick moment in my teenager years... now I barely remember it... hmmm... nevermind.
(also Robbie Rotten is the real Master of Disguise.)
Brion James was in Sam Rami's second film Crimewave
Hey That's The Guy From PumpkinHead!! Not Con Air -_-
Now I know where does this clip came from at 10:08, I wanted to know for a long time cause it’s freakin hilarious!! 🤣💀
I want to know to 😳
@@randalgraves6979 It's because I saw a funny review on The Mangler and well they used that specific clip and the guy was like "hahaha, keep on laughing Henriksen cause you're going to be in the sequel."
And yes no joke, he's in the sequel of The Mangler.
Phelous uses that clip in Mans best friend and Hellworld.
@@randalgraves6979 I remember that one, his Man's Best Friend review is hilarious. 😆
I tried googling Lance Henrickson quotes and came up empty 🤷🏻♂️
Looks like an army base or abandoned university
Brion Jones was also in Bladerunner.
See Shocker. That'll make for a good video.
Immunity!
It has an endearing stupidity to it, very devoid of logic. ^_^ I think it was just the jokey Freddy influence of the time, horror equals one liner gags. I tend to not recommend 3&4, only showed my Mum 1&2 which she enjoyed.
I Recommend you guys watch The Dentist. Great, great, bad B-list horror movie. I loved it! :D
I agree that House 1/2 are actually good. AND that House 3/4 are bleh. I remember electricity is evil here
House 3 was a Sean Cunningham production - the same Sean Cunningham who created Friday the 13th?
Was Jenkes one of the ghostly trio on Casper?
Try “Ghost in the Machine.”
Really Cool!!!
Why on the cover of the movie it has the house from psycho
What movie is that Lance Henrikson clip, where he says “ That’s the stupidest fucking thing I’ve ever heard” from?
This is exactly like Shocker. & Shocker is way better.
