Best review I have ever seen. Thi shas made my mind up to get the Voyager 5200. I thought the noise cancelling was better in it as your voice was dropping in and out a littl ebit during the blender test. What a brilliant demonstration of headsets. Thanks David.
Thank you for watching and the kind words :)
To me, the Plantronics unit sounded better overall through the different tests. Thanks for the comparison 👍
You're welcome, thanks for watching!

I was using Voyager 5200 5 years ago (bought at truck stop) and at that time quality of product was awesome. No one complained about sound and mic. Clear voice. Year ago I accidentally broke 5200 and decided to get a new one 5200 at Amazon , and this one was so bad product, everyone told me that sound quality was bad, some noises in background all the time, or very very low volume level, I was not able to talk as usual even after update to mics. Now I bought Blue-parrot and everything seems ok. No complaints. You can research online, everyone in 2022-2023 started to have same problems with 5200 voyager.
I agree about the decreased quality of the 5200. I'm virtually certain it has to do with Plantronics merger first with "Poly" and then getting purchased by HP. I've been using the Legend series for 15-20 years, but now I'm thinking or moving to the Yealink BH71 or this Blue Parrot model. It makes me sad to see such a great original product go downhill.
Excellent review. I wish I had known you a while ago - I just replaced my 5200 - with another 5200 of course. Your review makes the BlueParrot tempting but many years of reliable service with the Plantronics it's my go-to. And Poly / Plantronics Product Support is amazing.
[I, me, "user error", 'abused' a two-year old 5200... I caught it in the door-jamb of a truck - hood from my winter coat knocked it off my ear as I got out.... I totally broke it - just a fluke that it got smashed IN the door. A half-second either way and it would have either been on the ground or knocked inside. Nope - crushed. But Poly Customer Service said "What's your address?"... I said "No, No - I wrecked it - I was just hoping for another one at a good deal?" But they insisted on sending me a replacement - new one - not a refurb, when mine was at least two years old. Impressive.]
And - I think I've told that story over 100 times - - and when I asked the CSR if that was their ultimate goal - he laughed and said "What's your address?"
But - I would rather see what YOUR test results were in actual use - than the specs. Some manufacturers lie. What is the ACTUAL range on the products - will a BlueParrot actually connect 275 ft away?? Or is that in theoretical or 'lab conditions'? Specs lie. What did YOU find?
Nice job.
Thanks for watching and glad you found our channel. We didn't get a chance to test the range ourselves, but from our understanding this estimated range is when you're connecting to a Class 1 Bluetooth device.
Darn. That is a big thing, I was hoping you would have tested such a large claim. I mean, they say it's more than DOUBLE, but you didn't test it??
The Plantronics 5200 is still the king.
The only head set I've found to be better was the old Bose over the ear unit which has been discontinued however, it lacked volume but the noise canceling and voice clarity was incredible.
It's sad that Bose didn't continue that model.
Hi Richard, we can't disagree with you here.
Thanks for the review, trying to find a replacement for my dad's Plantronic Voyager 5200. The BlueParrott wins the race in battery time, but the sound quality seems to be clearly worse imo, so your review really made it easy for me to make up my mind about the two different headsets. Thx!
Thanks for watching and we’re happy to know this helped you :)
I noticed that too, but I'm curious because the Wirecutter said the BlueParrott did better on audio and I've had 2x plantronics voyagers die on me in the past 6 years with people saying they could no longer even hear me.
Really appreciate this video. I've been debating on what Bluetooth Headset to buy and it came down to these two after lots of shopping. I found this comparison video tonight and it was perfect. I think I have to go with the Blue Parrot for 3 reasons. 1) Double the battery life over the plantronics, that's pretty important. 2) Triple the range over the plantronics. 3) USB-C Charging is very convenient since I have those everywhere. Now I will admit the microphone of the Plantronics sounded better but that alone doesn't outweigh the other big positives. Maybe the plantronics looks better slightly but they're honestly pretty similar. The Blue Parrot also has that large Parrot button that can be made a mute button and it looks super easy to mute with that. It also seems like the Plantronics goes back a few years for when it was released and this Blue Parrot is newer which is always good. Seeing as how fast tech companies improve their products this could explain the double battery life and triple range. I just hope either of these Blue Parrot or Plantronics is comfortable for wearing a couple of hours at a time with those gel earbuds they both have. Excellent review👍👍
Hi Tom, thanks for watching and that's great to hear this video helped you make a decision. Let us know how you like the headset when you get it :)

Forgot to mention that plantronics has voice answer, both headsets are good, though poly has better background noise filters and also has Alexa button, thanks for making video....
Good point
One more thing, poly also has option of switching to HD voice through app, which makes voice output even better as I've been told by people I've have spoken with while using poly, thanks again....

I've been using Plantronics for quite a few years now. It's time for a new one. I seen the BP and was considering it. But thanks to your video, I think I'll stick with Plantronics
Hi Andy, thanks for sharing your pick :)
I made the mistake getting the Blue Parrot. It’s terrible you can’t hear them they can’t hear you. So I had to get the 5200. So I have both now. Although I’ll never use the blue parrots again

Great review! I really wanted a good comparison on these 2 headsets, and this video nailed it perfectly. Thank you! Liked & Subscribed.
Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel, Joey!
Some thoughts on my just arrived BlueParrot. No auto-answer option, no wideband audio for voice over LTE such as Verizon, only has a power button next to two volume buttons, and the bird button which can be cloned to the power/MFB button, and works as mute out of the box. It also will always activate Google Assistant or Siri if you push the power/MFB by accident while trying to change volume, and the volume buttons do long press non defeatable functions so if you are used to holding the volume on a 5200, this will irritate to no end. The only thing the BlueParrot app allows is setting the bird button to a limited set of other functions, and updating firmware. Audio output of the 300 is about 75% as loud as the 5200 and very tinny by comparsion. Lastly, it is a bit wider and may not stick behind your ear as well as the thinner 5200, and with the answer/end button being on the back, you need three fingers minimum to push it in as you cannot push it in without it coming off your ear due to the placement of the button. The 5200 was a perfect BT headset for me except for people not being bale to understand me whatsoever when making phone calls. I work in a news car full of police scanners, so I think the noise cancelling DSP of the 5200 has issues determining the difference between scanners chattering and my voice. My older Voyager Legend doesn't have this problem , but it's speaker audio is about 25% lower, similar to the bird. Will see how the bird performs later tonight, crossing fingers.
Hi Paul, thanks for watching and providing everyone such a detailed response! I think that will help a lot for others considering the Blueparrott or 5200.
Hi Paul. Reading your comment. I've just acquired a 300 due to the 5200 having issues with folk hearing me. It's second unit to do so. Ones prior were great. Will see how the 300 goes I guess

Hey John, we agree it's time for a new 5200 to come out!
Qualcomm decided to stop making more 8675 chip to force their customers like Jabra, poly ,Bosch to switch to its buggy 51xx chip.So 5200 soon will be discontinued. And poly has decided to stop designning its own firmware and dsp software, totally rely on Qualcomm SDK to make headset and speaker.
Nice review. BlueParrott mic. sounded better but the Voyager sounded like the bass when you played the music was better. As I'm looking for something for the office while I make teams calls through the PC and to make/receive calls on my phone you've helped me decide to go with the BlueParrott. Thank you!
Hi James, based on what you said this may not the the best headset for you when connecting to a computer. This headsets best made for cell phones. A better headset to consider for your computer that’s an earpiece style for calls is here m.ruclips.net/video/qXXc2LTk420/видео.html
Great review and very helpful. By far the noise cancellation, voice pickup and volume output sound was way better with the Plantronics 5200. Plus, the charging case is a nice add-on. I have been looking to make a purchase between these two headsets. Your review helped me tremendously in finalizing the decision. 5200 it is! I'll take the voice quality over talk time and range...since I'm at a desk all day. 🙂
Hi Donald, thanks for sharing and great points :)
Based on his test, the BlueParrott needs more make up gain after noise cancelation. But the quality is better sounding. BTW, the find my headset feature on the Plantronics app has saved me many times!
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. The headset finder is a nice tough, glad it's helpd you!
I drive a truck and have used 5 or 6 different BlueParrott headsets and they all worked good. I just got a blue parrot ear bud M300 XT the microphone doesn’t pick up unless you talk loud. If you talk loud it’s great.

The Poly 5200 out performed the Blue Parrot. Both sounded great in your back ground noise cancellation testing, however, the clarity and sound when you are talking into the mics is great in the Poly 5200 and sounded very low and muffled in the Blue Parrot. I have used the Plantronics Legend Voyager, the the 5200 and the 5200 UC over the years I worked in the hotel industry and was a road warrior.... now retired.... I still want great quality, clarity and noise reduction and your various videos I watched today, still has me believing and a strong supporter that the Poly 5200 UC is the best on the market!! Thank you!
Thanks for watching :)
Noise cancelling differs mainly in wind noise cancellation, where the V5200 performs better.
Great video, thank you. Your voice sounded better on the Blue Parrot.
Thanks for watching, Adam.
Plantronic will always be the bluetooth goat. I just bought the blue parrot, and I'm thinking I may be handing it down to the hubby lol and replacing my 5200. Best blue tooth, I drive a gravel truck to.i am on noisy sites all the time. Anyone I ever spoke to always asked if I was actually at work or in my truck driving, it was that good.
Excellent video!
Congratulation
Thank you!
I have the BlueParrott M300-XT, it is great as long as there is no noise around you. (Engine, electric motors, vacuum) While it cuts out all of the noise excellently, for some reason it makes it almost impossible for the person your talking to so hear you. It basically makes you sound like you a talking behind a closed door, in another room. It is great for using while driving your car, that is what i use it for. It is the worst out of the half dozen or so different headsets I have used as a truck driver.
030322 Just got the BlueParrott M300 today at the Best Buy in Downers Grove ,Illinois. They are still selling the Plantronic legend amazingly enough and the 5200 as well. I opted to try the BParrott since Poly told e they are no longer supporting plantronic products as of May 2019.
BParrott easy to set up and I love that it will announce who is calling! So far the sound is a little different then Plantronic. I hope to keep ya update as I wear it for the 15 days before I have to return it if its not good lol

Great review. Unless something is flawed with your testing the Plantronics is a LOT better. What matters the most is how clearly the other person hears you. The Plantronics is twice as loud and no background noise.

I've been a long time Plantronics Voyager fan (owned/used about 4-5 in the last 15 yrs? and most replacements have been my fault). But always looking for better quality at a better price. For me the only thing I found from this video was that Blue Parrott has a longer (while wearing) talk time. This is big for me since I need to have music (from my iPod) to keep myself sane during the day (yes I play guitar [as you can see from my photo] for pleasure and have had some fun in my neighbor's recording studio at times, so sound quality is important to me), and still be able to instantly switch to phone calls while driving or active helping my 93 yr old mother. But that is one thing the video didn't cover, how easy it is to switch from my iPod to my Android Phone and back to music on my iPod. I know with the Voyager is automatic and I only need to reach for my iPod to restart my music if the conversation is longer then 5 mins or 10 (don't remember & I've never looked, but that could be a settings thing in the set up?). I also like to drive with my top down on my convertible every chance I get (it has to be raining hard [leather seats so a mist is no problem] or under 64 degrees outside for my top to be up) so noise cancelation is very important. So from your video I would say Plantronics still wins for over all performance in my needs. Mahalo for such a great review.
Hey Jeff! Thanks for watching. Top down with the convertible never sounds like a bad thing. Glad you liked the video and we appreciate your support.
What about voice command on both; Plantronics have voice command to answer or decline calls, but blueparrot
Great question! BlueParrott does not.
For the most part, this might not be an issue, but at the first go around, it appears the blue parrot can not be made to answer calls and play/pause if you are listening to music or a pod cast.
Thanks for watching Mario!
I got yesterday the BlueParrot M300 XT and I was disappointed for many reasons. First the sound quality wasn’t good enough, second after 1 hours using it I had pain in my ear due to the eartips but also to some echo and bad quality sound. The buttons also feels cheap.
Then I returned it same day and I got the Plantronics 5200, the first time it was working perfect, it looks beautiful and premium, the audio quality is really good, it has good sensors and can be use with Siri. But after 2 hours the microphone was failing, the person I was talking to couldn’t hear me, they said that my voice came and go. I reset it in the hub app and I couldn’t update it cause it was up to date. I turned off and on and still it was failing. Am a truck driver so I stopped in the next Flying J truck stop and I replace it for another 5200. I still haven’t tried this new one but am a little nervous that it fails again. But definitely I wouldn’t buy the BP M300, I’d go with the Plantronics 5200
Hi Will, thanks for sharing your thoughts. It seems there's a split with users in either really liking the headset or not at all, it doesn't seem like there's an inbetween.
How it goes so far? Got my m300 worse headset ever
I have the Blue Parrot 300 xt and about three months after getting it, it goes mute and there is nothing I can do to unmute it and Blue Parrot is of no use. I had to spend $80 and buy the Plantronics PLT LEGEND .Which works great. But I wish the Blue Parrot would work. I really liked using it .
Hi Michael, there is a warranty on the BlueParrott so may be worth contacting them to get a replacement.
Thank you for the video. Please tell me what the difference is between the BlueParrott M300 XT and the BlueParrott M300 SE??? Thank you for your response.+
Why is the caller id, caller announcer never mentioned? The is one of the biggest determiners on which device to purchase? I hate pulling my phone out of my pocket to see who is calling.
The problem with Plantronics is the lifespan. I have literally purchased at least 5 of these. They are great, until they are not. I just purchased the Parrot....I don't think they have worked the bugs out. Breaking up during calls, especially traveling, causing me to leave it for my car bt. I guess I will be going back to Plantronics planned lifespan of just out of warranty.
The Plantronics has been a great headset for many years and it sounds like you're a heavy user of this headset. Check out a couple comparable models at the link below you may not be aware of to also consider.

I have had my first plantronics 5200 now for 7 years and it’s still working. I just bought another one as a backup if my first one will fall apart. As the soft plastic parts are sort of being stretched out and coming loose. But the headset function is still mint condition. So for me I have never had any such small technical equipment with such longevity! And I use it all day every day. Fun fact is that the new one is exactly the same it’s on,y called poly something instead. Awesome quality! ❣️
BP noise cancel sounds choppy PL better. BP sound better w/o cancel. My (now lost!) 5200 did connect to my computer but was not UC? EXCELLENT review
I like the big side button mute (that can also be push to talk configured) that the blue parrot has. I found one for 35 bucks so I couldn’t pass it up, hopefully it doesn’t disappoint!
I would say the BlueParrott one beats the Plantronics in terms of mic-quality, but the Plantronics beats the BlueParrott in terms of mic-volume (assuming they were both set to full volume), and in terms of Noise Cancelling they both do an equally good job. I would pick the BlueParrott if I knew it could increase the mic-volume to more than it was set to in this mic-test.
Thanks for watching, John :)
In my opinion there has never been a Bluetooth headset as good as the Voyager Legend. My last unit broke down and the company replaced it with a 5200 as an “upgrade”. It is no where near as good as the Legend. The only advantage to me is the embedded Tile software because I lose small things. I was hopeful that the BlueParrott m300-xt would be a viable option. I almost purchased it until I saw this video. The microphone is nowhere near the quality of the 5200. Also, the lack of a charging case and dongle to connect to a PC puts it in a much lower class in my opinion.
I am currently looking for an upgrade for my 5200, but don’t know where to turn. Would love a suggestion.
Also, is there a way to purchase the dongle only for my 5200 to upgrade it for PC use? Thank you.
Hi Robert, you're spot on. The Voyager Legend was a staple for this type of headset and the 5200 is the upgraded model. There's no new replacement to the 5200 yet, but I would imagine one of these days there will be something that you may be just as happy as you were with the Legend.

Nice video, I am planning to buy Voyager 5200, this makes me informed decision
Glad this helped!
There seems to be quite a loss of sound with the Blue Parrot. Do you have the volume set the same? If so, the Blue Parrot microphone isn't very good.
Also, I do like the position of the call button as well as the talk time on the Blue Parrot. My decision will be based on the answer to the mic volume question.
The volumes are set to the same and we’ve been hearing customers say the mic volume has been to low for them on the BlueParrott.
Why are both mics so muffled and compressed? The noise cancelling is great, but the voice itself seems so hardcore compressed
... Are there headsets like this, with a clearer mic audio?
This is unfortunately the trade off with any noise canceling microphones because software is being used to help reduce background noise. If headsets didn't add any noise cancellation to the mic, it would give a much more natural voice, but then you'd hear all background noise. Maybe in the future, headset manufactures will be able to implement best of both.
Thanks for this video. But can we record the conversations ?
Not through the headset at all. You’d have to do that through your phone system or external app on the computer
The playtronix Voyager connects to my contact list and tells me who in my contact list is calling. Does the parrot M00-xt do that feature also?
Hi Perry, it does not.
How does the sound quality differ from both headsets? I have the Voyager5200 and I like the sound quality when I am on a call but I have been noticing a grater signal interference on calls on the Voyager 5200. I am looking to try the M300-XT. I do like the long life time of the device. But I have seen other devices that have poor volume or sound quality. Any tests or results would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Mario, in regards to the speaker sound quality we feel they're about the same. We've heard mixed reviews on the mic quality of the M300-XT but these are definitely two of the best single ear bluetooth headsets for calls.
Another model I'd recommend for you to highly consider is one you may have not tried before, but is well worth a test. Check it out here ruclips.net/video/LRmTMpZVoVc/видео.html
Can you please do a comparison between BlueParrot M300-XT SE and Yealink BH71?
It was pretty confusing that looking at the screen, the headsets were flipped opposite the list of each attributes…
I just bought the plantrioncs one. But the charging case didn't come with mine
Hi Chris, the charge case is sold separately on the non UC Voyager 5200.
I want the touchless answer/ignore feature like my old Voyager Legand. It sounds like the B.P. 300 does NOT have this? I love Plaintronics products but I do NOT want Alexa on it!
Hi Josh, unfortunately the M300 doesn't have this feature.
Based on now having owned both, I would definitely go with the Plantronics. The blueparrott was very disappointing to me. I didn't like the speaker or the mic. Seems like they cut a lot of corners making the 300xt.
Hi Bumpy, that was our perception as well. The headset is okay but it's definitely not like the other series of Blueparrott headsets the trucker community is use to for mic noise cancellation.
I agree . Just bought the blue parrot and I’m not liking it at all. I can hardly hear, and those I talk to say they can’t hear me. My only issue with my Legend is; it disconnects on its own.
@@HeadsetAdvisor are you saying the nose cancellation is not good? both "seemed" to do well. would definitely like to see you add a test for wind noise
Thx for your demos. I´ve been using Plantronics since 2013-14 and always thought they had the best noise cancelling mic. Lately, last year I been having lots of bad connectivity and returned 4 pieces of headset. Often my voice disapears or sounds very low/far away so I need to speak directly to the phone. It´s very annoying. Sometimes I wonder if it´s the phone that causes the problem, Samsung S10? Another issue I noticed is when you walk the same spot I think the phone change cellular tower and then BOOM, the other person says now I can´t hear you. Then of course I need to speak directly to the phone and it´s loud and clear again. But as the video shows, when it works it´s amazing. I use to speak in the headset when I do Vacum cleaning and the other person doesn´t have a qlue. I just wonder if other people experising the same problem with 5200, something happend with production or anything else? Right now, I really hope there will be some tech companies who are putting up the competition - not much products worth the money on the market!
Plantronics is gone. They sold out to Poly ,and seams they sold only the design because, right now noise cancelling are cancelled. I've already changed 3 pairs, but the same shit
@@MrLush1970 Same here. No noise cancellation whatsoever on 5200
Same with mine.
The Voyager 5200 is now rebranded as Poly Voyager 5200 (a HP brand).
You are correct
I should have watched this video before buying the 5200, I don't get all the rave reviews, it sucks. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! What do you think can be improved on the 5200?
Plantronics is amazing.... was not sure to buy it again but now I'm as sure as I can....
Can still connect to the laptop via bluetooth right? Even if it's not a UC headset?
You can but customers who connect their Bluetooth headset to a computer without the USB dongle sometimes find connectivity issues, degraded audio, little to no wireless range and no added ability to answer/end calls from the headset when away from the computer.
How is the new jabra talk 65 compared to these?
We're in the process of reviewing the Talk 65, stay tuned!
Speech sounded muted with the BlueParrott and cut out occasionally while noise cancelling during the conversation. The Plantronics was louder, tinny and a little distorted, perhaps due to the loud volume. Just an observation...
What do you think of this headset? ruclips.net/video/NX-bEkgwatw/видео.html
@@HeadsetAdvisor The audio on that one is much better, less cut-outs, but the noise cancellation still makes an echo. Also, sadly, not mono audio.
Hello, I am trying to find a Bluetooth headset to use for working from home. No noise canceling is needed, but mic quality is the most important thing. Could you let me know the budget options cost not more than 100 USD?
Hi Ensar, it's very tough to find a quality Bluetooth headset in this price range. That being said, both headsets in this video would be around that price range. Do either of the headsets in this video seem like they'd work for you?
@@HeadsetAdvisor thanks for your reply. Yeah I guess I have to stop expecting a condender mic quality from this price range (considering its wireless) :D
For any of these two. If you walk away from your phone and it disconnect from the Bluetooth will it automatically reconnect back to the Bluetooth when you get back in range??
Hi Leonardo, yes it will auto reconnect when back in range. Let us know if you have any other questions we can help answer :)
I saw a review of the BlueParrott B350XT vrs the plt 5200 and the difference is large (of course, different style), is there something better from plantronics that may be better than the B350XT? In the same price range.
Unfortunately not. The BlueParrott line you saw is the best we’ve tested to block out noise when connecting to a mobile phone. There wouldn’t be any other comparable in the Plantronics line.
Most of the people siding with plantronics i feel are delusional in their responses. The plant was louder it seems but much more distorted and cloudy compared to the parrot. Your voice was way more clear with the parrot. And wuth the background noise, the parrot was flawless with really no noise coming through as opposed to the plant where you can Definitely hear outside noise. Parrot for the win
Hi there, is there any video of comparison 5200 vs 5200 UC vs legend? Or if you can tell which one is better in all aspects, please?
Thanks for watching! We don't have a video on this but it really depends on your specific needs. If you only need mobile phone connectivity, the 5200 would be best. If you need mobile phone + computer connectivity then the 5200 UC would be the best to consider.
I'm late to the party here, but I'm a bargain shopper and don't care if I'm a little "out-of-step" with technology/features, etc. The issues for me are talk-time, battery life, speaker, range and mic quality; Blue Parrot seems to have-it all over the Plantronics with the battery life, talk-time and range; overall, however, I have to go with the Plantronics for mic, speaker and the set up, which I found was a factor for me, too. If you have to put it on the charger every day, so what and conversation length/talk time doesn't seem to come into play there, at least until the battery starts to get older.
I have 3 of the Plantronics 5200 headsets and on 3 different iPhones they all suddenly are having issues. They were working fine then they all start having issues with the mic not picking up your voice and becomes muffled or distant. Power on/off same thing. I don’t know if it’s an Apple thing but I checked plantronics for software updates and they are up to date.
Which mono headset in general would you recommend?
For an earpiece style, the 5200 is a hard one to beat.
The 5200 sound best with noise canceling. Is the noise canceling automatic?
Hi Fred, thanks for watching. Yes, the noise canceling mic is automatic. There's no on or off button.
Overall I like the BP headset but the one thing I don’t like is answer phone call by pressing the multifunction button it’s hard while working n in plantronics it’s voice controlled or just press the button with back side of your hand
Thanks for the video review. I have been using Plantronics headsets for years (5200 and 3200) and I'm always looking to see if there is something better out there. Your voice on the M300XT does sound a bit more natural and less robotic. I am curious about voice quality on HD voice calls. I found a huge difference in voice quality with the HD voice option enabled on the Plantronics headsets (especially on Facetime calls), although battery life takes a hit. I'm assuming that raises the sample rate? Since Blueparrot doesn't seem to have that option, do you think the sample rate would be comparable to the Plantronics with or without HD voice?
After reading a number of mixed reviews the common theme seems to be the 5200 sounds better then the M300-XT. Check out the C300-XT as another option to consider here ruclips.net/video/Doi2CpCMhWQ/видео.html
Does the blue parrot have a charge case for the go
It doesn't
Hi. Found your review on the Blue Parrott very useful. Just one query. Does it support voice commands. As in can we say "Answer" or "ignore". The plantronics device supports this function. Could you clarify. It will be very useful. Thanks in advance.
Hi Skanda, sorry for missing your comment. It does not support voice command as of now.
Nice and informative without much drama
My priority is phone calls and listen to podcasts and Bluetooth range is also important for me
What is your opinion on blue parrot xt300 on this regard ?
Have you checked the range ?
Our first testing with the M300-XT wasn't favorable, but I believe it was an issue from our side.
After further testing, the M300-XT works very well, sounds good and has the extended battery (14hrs) which is a clear advantage over the 5200.
Also, the wireless range for the M300-XT says up to about 300ft. Not sure how accurate that is but it should give you longer range in comparison to the 5200 (50-100ft).
Best buys hang up the phone on me after holding me on over a hour every bluetooth I ever got from them was defective. Their extended warranty policy stinks
Hey Willard, sorry to hear your experience. May be time to try a new company on your next order :)
How about you trying it again with recent updates?
We'll see what we can do!
I have been using the Plantronics for several years, seems I get around a year out of the device before it gets some sort of issue and need to replace, looks like I'm going to be stuck buying a new one every year
Hi Scott, you may want to try a new headset like here ruclips.net/video/LRmTMpZVoVc/видео.html you should be getting longer then a year out of a headset
I have the 5200 and the wife complains that she sometimes cant understand me, listening to it now I get why, while its louder than the 300 it makes you sound like a robot. I just bought the 300 so Ill try it for a while then come back lol.
Thank you for your input. Let's hope you return back to just regular Jose rather than Robot Jose!
Robot, exactly what I was going to comment. When I need to call 911 to get the highway patrol from my car on the highway, tye can never hear me, always telling me they cannot understand me...God forbid I have to exit my car with traffic roar, I honstly forced to put the Plantronics in my pocket and hold the phone to my ear which always sounds crystal clear to them. The older Legend doesn't suffer this robotic DSP issue.
@@paulanderegg5536 You may want to give the Presence UC a good try. Video here for reference ruclips.net/video/omMBQymiXik/видео.html
@@paulanderegg5536 I'm experiencing same issues with Plantronics, they ruined an awesome headset. Trying to find a replacement is quite painful
@@razvantomsa I wish they had a configurable noise reduction setting in the Plantronics hub, like onm/off...sometimes you don't want or need noise reduction. What if your trying to wisper or talking quiretly...in a dead silent room the 5200 wouldn't even pick that up.
Blue Parrot looks like a rebrand of the 5200. 5200’s have worked for me for years
Looks very similar, right?
Hmmm, I guess we still have a ways to go to get good audio from bluetooth headsets. They sound very muffled like you have bad internet connection or something, like when you see an interview on tv and the person getting interviewed has a Webcam camera and using wired earbuds and poor video connection. I been looking for a small headset that goes in one ear for Discord calls but a lot seem to have this issue, and I don't like headphones, but maybe they might have the same issue
Another thing you could consider is getting a USB Condensor Mic and connect earbuds to them. Condensor mics give the best mic quality possible. amzn.to/3GigLz1
@@HeadsetAdvisor I do have one of these for my desktop, but sadly my GPU is fried and getting one is difficult (scalpers), otherwise I would be at my computer instead of my couch lol. but yes those are amazing and affordable. I might have to look around a bit more, maybe I'll pull the trigger and get one of these since they're better than the wireless earbuds mic at a fraction of the cost
I'm leaning towards the 5200 and it's based almost solely on the charging case. I'm an airpod user and the fact that they auto charge when I put them away is amazing for me. They're always fully charged. And as a truck driver who's constantly jamming things into my backpack, I love the idea that my headset is always in a protective case. I'm currently using a Blueparrot S450 and because of the case that it came with, they look brand new after a year of use. I'm looking for a more low profile option moving forward.
will the blue parrot anounce the caller
How do you make a call from it? If i wonna dial a friend can i do i from the headset (say dial his name) or do i need to pick up my iphone and dial it?
Thanks for the video. Just seeing it today, after I purchased the BlueParrot C300-XT, which arrived yesterday. I see that you've recommended it in the thread. Audio is great. I really like the minimal, over the ear piece, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to try it out. I need something light that can be worn for extended periods. It is a bit clunky looking, but that doesn't seem to affect how it feels, as so far for a few hours at a time, it's very comfortable.
I'll be testing it out on Monday during my Google and Slack meets. I'm curious to find out how well the mic works through my laptop. I think you said neither of the headsets can be used on a PC or laptop in your video(?) which I thought was strange so maybe I misheard.
Hi Sue, thanks for watching and providing your insight! To clarify what we mentioned in the video, you'll be able to use the C300xt on your computer if it has Bluetooth. That being said, from what our customers tell us they run into a number of issues like bad sound quality, little to no range, no seamless connectivity to switch back and forth from cell phone to computer etc... This headset is best designed to work with a cell phone rather than a computer. You may find the opposite experience though, who knows until you try :)
Peace & Love Sue,
Would You Mind Providing An Update. Do You Still Like The BlueParrot Choice You've Made?!?!!? Any Positives And Or Negatives You Would Want Other Potential Buyers To Know About...
