  • Welcome back to our exclusive series where we uncover groundbreaking information on gut health. Today’s spotlight is on Akkermansia muciniphila, a bacterium that’s stirring excitement in the scientific community and now available as a probiotic.
Dive deep with us into the world of probiotics, where Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium have long reigned. While they have their benefits, especially for infants and vaginal health, they may not be the best choice for adults with dysbiosis. But there’s a new player in town - Akkermansia muciniphila. Unlike its predecessors, this bacterium offers unique advantages and could be the key to unlocking better gut health.
    In this presentation, we’ll explore:
The rising popularity of Akkermansia muciniphila and the latest human research.
The limitations of traditional commercial probiotics and how they compare to Akkermansia muciniphila.
Practical tips on how to naturally increase the abundance of health-promoting bacteria like Bifidobacterium through diet.
The right time and methods to consider boosting Akkermansia muciniphila in your microbiome.
Join us as we navigate the promising potential of Akkermansia muciniphila and learn how to harness its power for your gut health. This is information you won’t find anywhere else!

    Hi Guy
Did they ever correlated the frequency of bowel movements with the level of A.M.?
Constipation precede Parkinson's in years, and common in colon cancer.
    Inflammatory BD has frequent BM.
Did any one study IBS and compare IBS predominant constipation versus IBS predominant diarrhea and evaluated the difference.

Yeah... I'm inferring this to be an elders daily most definitive competitive priority to plainly feed those good taxa against aging's possible bias competitively favoring the bad.

Sounds like a good plan. I feed my health-promotors all of the time.

An Interesting study would be to evaluate the frequency of AM presence in IBS predominante constipation and I BS predominant diarrhea.

The data shows MANY trials were the healthy controls have significantly more AM than those with diarrhea (IBS, Crohn's and UC). While there is very little data for constipation in either direction. Don't need to do the study, I have the data wrapped up from years of meticulous notes. AM is more crucial for diarrhea, and a minimal factor, if any in constipation. But the story is about much more than one microbe.

Not a dedicated one, but I mention it on occasion. It's also an opportunistic pathogen and should be treated as such, like the others.

It is likely that A.muciniphila when present it exert positive effect on the immune system and the metabolic state of the body.
It's presence in colon cancer is likely a local presence at the tumor site secondary to the Cancer presence and its effect on the local motility and mucosal integrity or lack of.
    I doubt if A M is a causative agent.

I wouldn't be so presumptuous. AM seems to be problematic in dementia and Parkinson's as well. Is it innocent there too? They are both lewy body diseases. Don't underestimate the impact of an inflammatory environment of the expression of genes. Again, is it acting alone? No. It's about the whole picture. We have to stop this fascination with one species here and one genus there (Lactobacillus for example). People are exposed to too much marketing. It makes no sense to me. Keep watching my videos and learn more.
