That's Spiney yellow oyster shell 🐚. The Navajo have used it for hundreds of years. Trading with coastal Indians for it. Because it's harvested by divers, it's expensive.
Hello, I love your videos. I wanted to know if you could help me. I bought my first😅 vintage Case XX. However, I can not date it because the tang stamp different than all the others I have seen. It has CASE XX, underneath that it says stainless, and under that it has USA. Can you help me?
Man, that’s pretty! I’ve always wanted to get a piece by Yellowhorse, but the price was always too high for one of the “Buck” 110s. Go for you on finding this Roper!
Thanks Mike, I love it. The big deal is the same work on a buck 110 can cost a fortune. But put it on a Roper knife, and it's affordable. The secret is, when David is done with that Roper, it's better than a Case or Buck.🙂
Is that how the blades came or were they refinished. It's hard to tell because Roper sometimes does interesting things themselves. Thanks for showing this. It's so difficult to really see the materials on store photos. That is a totally different beast from what I got online.
Yes, they are the original blackwash Roper blades. The blades are the only thing left original on the knife. You're welcome brother, I'm glad you enjoyed it. None of the fantastic detail shows on the website. The paw prints are engraved, and the Jet stone was a surprise. It looks uniform on the website but is jigged wonderfully.
One of 100 a very special knife to have. Congratulations brother. Simply gorgeous knife
That one is a real stunner!! Thanks for showing it off, buddy!
You're welcome, David 😊
Great colors on the knife and the table
I like pretty rocks. My wife does, too. We have them everywhere. 🙂

@danedwards8535 I look at my David Yellowhorse knives more than any other. Just amazing work. And by the way, they are custom knives.
