    You can't deny Bob, Lee and Don's contributions. These guys are rock and roll legends. Randy's greatness on guitar aside, no way would Ozzy have had the success that he has enjoyed without them.

    Don Airey was no slouch. He is a very talented musician, and that's putting it lightly. He composed for orchestras and symphonies. H was discussing concepts with Randy for the third album right before Randy passed. Nothing was recorded it was just conceptual. The third record was going to be HEAVILY influenced by classical. If you thought Diary was classically influenced the third record was going to go further in that direction.

    Bob Daisley was the genius behind it all. Randy was great (one of my favorite guitarists), but just listen to him with Quiet riot! It was horrible! Daisley knew how to bring out the best in someone like Randy Rhoads.

    • @Fiction_Supreme
      @Fiction_Supreme 7 лет назад +14

      Mr. X A huge problem with Quiet Riot during their time with Randy was the record label they were under. Randy had great ideas under Quiet Riot, but were suppressed with the label wanting a "Pop Rock" sound. The lyrics weren't the greatest and some songs were quite boring (all the labels fault) Randy still made great material. And yes, with Daisley's help, he was able to flesh out his music. You can hear him helping Randy with Dee in the Tribute live album.

    • @ullanorakk252

      First album is pretty much based on QR riffs and is a lot more "rock'n roll" than Diary and later albums. Bob Daisley did exactly the same as Geezer Butler did in Sabbath. He re-wrote Ozzys crappy lyrics. No doubt Ozzy came up with the melody lines. If Ozzy wasn't married to the devil, he would have been just as fucked as the rest of them. It was the eighties. Just get over it....

    • @countvond233
      @countvond233 6 лет назад +10

      Quiet Riot with Randy was horrible. Oddly, they were much better without him. Daisley definitely grabbed Randy and whipped him into shape. He had the chops for days but he didn't know the application. He went from good to exponentially better in a span of a year. How do you explain that? Raw talent + Bob + Lee and a bit of Oz vocal melodies (that truly is a talent).

    • @ullanorakk252
      @ullanorakk252 6 лет назад +3

      QR with Randy was horrible, but the riffs of songs like No Bone Movies and Steal Away are based on riffs from QR. And those are the type of songs that Daisley, Rhoads and Kerslake "came up with". . Suicide Solution is also based on a riff from QR, but Ozzy suggested to do the first part twice syn-coped. and dropping the following riff. (that ended up as No Bone Movies.) and added his classic dark melody line to it. QR song is called Force of Habit. Check it out! :) Intro also might have influenced Crazy Train.

    Always loved Lee Kerslake's drumming in Uriah Heep, so of course loved it with Ozzy as well. However, there wasn't a band that Bob Daisley touched that didn't turn into GOLD. The guy is/was a PHENOMENAL metal bass player. I know because I play bass. He even took it to another level on Eternal Idol with Sabbath (Tony). There's not a doubt that Tony's playing was the best in years on that album, and I have no doubt it was Bob's influence that caused that. Will never forget how Ozzy/Sharon screwed those guys out of their royalties, though. Soured my opinion of Oz permanently.

    I always knew Ozzy didn't write all those songs. Even before I knew really anything about music, I had these albums when i was 14-15. I already knew Ozzy didn't play guitar. I thought that his name on the song writing credits was just a part of laziness on the record company. Back then, a lot of albums didn't have ANYTHING on the inside sleeves, especially cassettes. Many times there would be misprints and mistakes in the sleeves. I figured Ozzy just wrote most of the lyrics and vocal parts.

    Why did Ozzy hire Bob Daisly to write on "EVERY ALBUM" from Blizzard to No More Tears, (maybe even beyond, not sure) and Ozzy/Sharon show their appreciation by re- recording the Bass and Drums on Blizzard and Diary with Mike Bordin and Robert Trujillio, just so they didn't have to pay royalties to Daisly and Kerslake. Why ?

    • @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle
      @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle 3 года назад

      Because Bob is a great songwriter. Ozzy and Darth Hideous are disgraces. Darth Hideous and Ozzy were so pissed off with the lawsuits, they decided to minimize performance royalties they would have them re-recorded. Both blame the other, luckily the fan backlash was huge and swift.
      Darth Hideous made sure Bob and Lee were not in the band picture on Diary of a Madman to make the case they did not perform on the album and they could hide payments from them. And to show it was Ozzy's band, not a 4 piece band of equal partnership

    @rokarolla No, it's not possible Randy saved their lives. A simple reading of the facts of the crash prove it - the attitude of the plane (deep bank) would have made it impossible for any passenger to "pull" the controls. This particular model of Bonanza may have had dual controls but Randy was in the back passenger area. Very sad but it was simply a freak accident with a pilot who had no business flying a plane at the time.

The ex-wife had stepped out and was in the doorway of the bus and the two had some not-so-good relationship things going on AND aycock was high, had been up all night, and was an odd cat they say anyway. More so Randy's mother Delores made a reluctant Randy go audition for Ozzy. Randy's natural talent came through and he could fully express himself and approached new territory with Ozzy. Listening to early Quiet Riot, Randy recycled some of his favorite personal riffs. Now, the Quiet Riot albums in Japan were way cheesy, but there were some excellent tunes on them. QRII was the better of the two albums in my opinion. The band's best tunes with Randy weren't on the albums and are quite hard to find, though you might find some on RUclips. Avoid the Randy Rhoads Years album, as most of those tracks were redone, but Laughing Gas and Force of Habit are killer!

      If you listen to Quiet Riot songs, clearly Randy had this enormous God given talent, and you can hear those blues tapes now on youtube when he was 15. But Bob helped him funnel his talent into songwriting. Bob was a tremendous mentor to 3 great players, but Randy was a cut above all of them. Randy when he went to England his world opened up, he learned how to write from a seasoned songwriter in Bob and Lee on Diary. Diary is arguably the greatest rock album ever written, if they had more than 6 weeks to do it, how great would it have been in addition to what it is. A young kid in his early 20's needs guidance.

      But Ozzy wrote Goodbye to Romance as a lamentation of his time in Sabbath. And Ozzy was in an ethereal state pondering John Bonham's tragic death when he wrote Suicide Solution... of course this all being the power of a clairvoyant.
      Ozzy is as big a piece of shit as Sharon. I absolutely love the Sabbath era and the Rhoads era albums, but everything is tainted now that we all know the truth and the evidence speaks loudly. Humming a couple bars does not make a song of the likes Blizzard and Diary produced. Re-releasing materials with alternate musicians to screw humble and beloved musicians out of royalties is unforgivable. Lee finally got his gold records, but don't mistake that for a good deed. It was just another way to rewrite history and benefit from a dying man's final wish.

    I bet you all didn't know that Randy, Ozzy, and Sharon both had tea early that morning as well with the house owener. They had hired a proffesional photographer to take arial pics of the bus on the property but the guy never showed up so Randy volunteered to go up and take the pics. yes, he was afraid of flying but not in the small planes, just in the big ones. This stems from an incident when they were in California. Do your research and find out about it. Rachael Youngblood had a heart attack and slumped on the controls. The conflict in the cockpit was Randy trying to get her off the controls. Yes, Aycock should never have been allowed in the plane nor doing dive bombs to put Rachael in Caridac arrest. A sad day for us all. I think we will never ever hear the 'FINAL' truth to the matter, but that's about as close I think as we are going to get to the actual events that transpired that fateful day.

    The bottom line is you can say all you want about Sharon Osbourne. But she is the reason that Ozzy even continued in rock music after getting fired from Sabbath. Ozzy was a drunken and drugged out wreck and propably would have overdosed or drank himself to death if she didn't come into his life. And they started with nothing after they had to buy out his contract from her dad Don Arden. So if she is a tough business woman that's the way it is.

    • @SonicVR12

    Ozzy's non-Sabbath albums were all fairly even in quality. Not brilliant, but pretty good, no matter who co-wrote them or played on them.
    As for Living Loud, it's simple indeed. Daisley is credited as a co-writer on them, so he's legally allowed to perform them. Doesn't mean that he had more of a hand in writing them than any other co-writer, Ozzy included.

    It's no secret this band was "concocted" so to speak. Randy had music lesson chops but was no leader or pioneer in any sense, take a listen to any quiet riot stuff before hand, abysmal tunes and riffs. They were done, Randy was depressed, then Ozzy came along and a fuck ton of studio pro's that molded everything. A boy metal band so to speak.

    • @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle

      not accurate at all, some of those riffs appeared on the Blizzard of ozz. he was absolutely a pioneer, he was doing things no one else was when he joined the blizzard of ozz. The songs are not great in Quiet riot but not abysmal, his mom knew he could do a lot better. Randy was not depressed. Studio pros? you mean Bob Daisley who helped construct the songs and do the lyrics. but he untapped the greatness of Randy. How is a band where everyone but the guitarist is over 30 and veterans? this has to be done of the most bizarre comments on here. A boy metal band said by no one ever
