    A few fun facts:
    1) Eren didn't open his eyes during rumbling. He opened his eyes in his last breath just to see Mikasa
    2) Mikasa wrote, "Here forever rest peacefully, my most beloved, my dear. 854" on Eren's grave. The first two times Mikasa visits Eren's grave, she puts four roses, which means nothing will come between two people who love each other but can not be together / tragic love. The last time she put one rose, which means "you are still THE one."
3)A white flower was placed during her death, which symbolizes purity and virginity. So, taken together, Mikasa's flowers send the message that she won't forget Eren, she still loves him (but believes he can no longer love her back), she will remain devoted to him, and she is waiting.
    4) They spent 4 years living together in Paths (ch. 138) And only when he "passed away" there, was she able to kill him in the real world.
    5) In the ending credits where Eren and Mikasa were buried, an old man Armin still visited their graves. He was the last to die from the trio, just like when they were kids running to the tree, he was the last one who reached the tree.
    6) This is a very famous consideration. It is believed that the bird that last wrapped the scarf around Misaka's head was a bird known by its Japanese name, the "Tohzoku Kamome." Also, the english name of this bird is "Pomarine Jaeger

By the way, the final lyrics where the boy and the dog appear, say that we must stay away from violence and it is a hopeful song. There are some who believe that the titans will return, but they were born by the psyche, fears and desires of Ymir Fritz... as Zeke said. Therefore the titans will not return, since they were born by the desire of a slave girl with fears... the child at the end is the complete opposite, he is a free adventurer with a friend who is a dog... different from Ymir who A dog was chasing her to kill her.

@@rumfordc I feel the same way about Levi, I love to see my favorite characters die in a show. But I understand that in these type of shows, the really big ones with such fanbase, things like that happen.
Levi is like Daryl in The Walking Dead, creators have to keep those type of characters alive and give them plot armor or else they'll be risking too much of their connection with the fans, they gave them such plot armor for so long that it comes to a point where it wouldn't even make sense to kill them anymore, there are greater things happening in the show that such death would just conflict and distract the fans from the main plot.
There's no way around it, if even Isayama couldn't find a way to kill that type of character I don't think anyone can, I'll believe in that until I find a show where it goes the other way.

It was a joy to rewatch the whole series with you. Once you've recovered emotionally, I would highly recommend rewatching the whole show. There is an absurd amount of foreshadowing and secret little things you don't catch the first time that are hidden. Especially the first two seasons.
As one of the original watchers of the show from 2013 this show was a huge part of my life remains my favorite show of all time. Having to wait a week between each episode was so painful sometimes I can't even begin to explain and don't even get me started on waiting for years between seasons. But it was all worth it in the end, greatest skydiving event of my life probably.

Connie got his mom back. Eren went all Aladdin with Armin and showed him the world minus the magic carpet. And he made sure there were no titans left in the world like his brother Zeke wanted so they wouldn't be feared and hated at least for a while. Glad you two got to experience this masterpiece!

And that's why people shoudn't hate on Eren not giving a clear response to "why doing the rumbling", because he is himself lost in the many reasons he arrived to this resolution. If you followed the anime, understood all the POV of each character's on Eren and Eren's monologues, you know all the facettes of Eren and thus, why he came to this horrible ending. 🙏

Even with Israel versus Palestine right now, war, hatred, resentment, revenge, racism, these things will always be a part of us. As long as there are two separate forces with opposing beliefs or goals, there will be war. Suffering. It is a cruel world. But the silver lining the show gives us is the baseball, or the leaf, or Mikasas scarf. It’s the little things that make the life worth living. Even with all the suffering that is inevitable. And those little things will always be attached to love. Aaron sacrificed himself for his love, so that Mikasa could live the remaining years she had left in peace without her freedom being stripped away. And as soon as she passes war begins. There’s obviously a lot more to his motivations/character, he is definitely one of the best well written protagonist/villains to any show that I’ve ever seen. @@leonardoespinoza8930 Ymir was always watching Mikasa, peering into her life, thats what the headaches are. Ymir peers in to see the way Mikasa handles the undying love she has for Erin. In the end Ymir witnesses Mikasa make the greatest sacrifice and kill the one she loved , which in turn gives her the knowledge/perspective to realize she could let go of King Fritz the way Mikasa is letting go of Erin. And since Time and space are all at once in the paths, Ymir was able to go back in time and let Fritz die where she originally sacrificed herself for him. So in the end she accepted death, but for 2000 years she didn't want to let go. When she was laying on the ground after being speared and she "chose to die", the only reason she did this, is because she wanted Fritz love, but all he did was say " youre not dead my slave" making her realize that no matter what she does, he won't give her the love she wants, heartbroken, she decides to just give up.

I interpret it as being largely involuntary and unconscious. He probably wouldn't have consciously chosen genocide, but the paths could tell that deep down what he truly wanted was for his friends to be safe and for there to be a big empty world for them to explore, and so that was the only possible future it ever showed him, leading him to think it was the only option.

Many people thinks that the ending was bad, but actually i think it wasnt bad at all. It was a FITTING ending for Attack on Titan because it is CONSISTENT with the original premise of the show = "To Get Rid Of All Titans From This World" = That is AoT's origin story. Even though it was changed to humans being the actual enemies but still at the end we did get rid of all titans as well.
The 2000 years history of Attack on Titan can be viewed as Founder's Ymir personal struggle to overcome her Stockholm Syndrome (A real mental struggle where the captors fell in love with the kidnappers). She knows she is supposed to hate King Fritz who burned down her village, killed her family, enslaved and torture her. But being born and living the life she had, she still yearned for love and unfortunately fell for the worst man possible. OVERSIMPLICATION yes but you get the main gist. She is struggling and wants to be free from her obsession.
About Eren, Ymir is the only one with the power to decide what happens with the Titan's power. Even in the episode "From you, 2000 years ago" Eren only prompted Ymir's to decide. However, like Eren said, he is powerless from this, as the Attack Titan he can see and experience the past, present and future all at the same time, he had tried to look for alternative solutions but the vision of the future just WOULD NOT change. (See Eren's convo with Armin) He didn't wanna go through with the Rumbling (His personal struggle and monologue in the previous movie) but he had very little choice, his only way is to move forward, he is A SLAVE OF FREEDOM.
Re: Eren blaming himself for directing Dina towards mom. What people need to understand is AoT's story is a fixed single timeline and cannot have TIME PARADOX. What happened has happened, THE PAST CANNOT CHANGE. Actually in that moment in time (mom gets eaten), Eren was neither the Attack Titan (Dad) nor Founding Titan(Freya). Future Eren can only speak to previous inheritors of Attack Titan (Dad) who was busy stealing Founding's power (He HAD to make his dad do it because that already happened, that is the only way he get founding powers and the only way he could see into the past). Future Eren couldn't do anything in a larger scale of things because it is a paradox. (If Eren asked dad to save his mom, mom didn't get eaten, Eren wouldn't become the Attack/Founding Titan and wouldn't see this memory and couldn't ask dad to save mom; It's a PARADOX; if he sees this memory then his mom has already been eaten), he is just watching it happen, powerless and can only blames himself. As Historia said: this is not Eren's choice, it's the consequence of everybody's action that caused the Rumbling. If the wall was never broken, mom never eaten, Eren never got Founding Power, Rumbling wouldn't happen. Imagine being Eren, you get to see all past, present and future at the same time but everything is set in stone, he can't change anything, he can only move forwards and see how the story plays out
About Mikasa, she is the real person Ymir was waiting for all these while because Ymir sees herself in Mikasa. The "Runaway story" is like Infinite Tsukiyomi, it is only a VISION/DREAM of a possible future, the viewer experience it fully but it never happened in reality nor there is another timeline. Mikasa was presented with 2 scenarios 1) Give up on saving humanity and runaway with Eren, but this way Ymir continue to be a slave to King Fritz, Titan power remains and continue to terrorize humanity 2) Refuse to give up on humanity and sacrifice her love (she can still love Eren nonetheless), and Ymir can finally be free of Fritz command and choose to remove Titan Power from this world. Mikasa was able to influence Ymir to make the decision to be free from King Fritz. Hence in Ymir's vision she chose not to protect King Fritz (this is only symbolism, the past didn't change, only showing the change of Ymir's heart, once again, THE PAST CANNOT CHANGE)
The whole conversation between Armin and Zeke is basically a discussion about nihilism thinking that basically says "what's the point of living if all things eventually die, why does anything matter if everything comes to an end/dies" To the fans who think "AoT's ending is meaningless because war and conflict continues anyway" -Your thinking is very much like Zeke - "what's the point of living if everyone dies? what's the point of peace if conflict perpetuate?" try to think of it this way - Zeke asked Armin "Why do you wanna go back to fight so much if everything's gonna die anyway? " and Armin/Isayama said to him "Every small moment and happiness in life is worth living, even though all good things come to an end" This is also why AoT and Isayama didn't choose to go with the EUTHANIZATION plan, because all lives born is free, there will be good things that happen to them, and we shouldn't take this away from them. MANY people missed this but THIS is also a BRILLIANT 4th wall break homage saying THANK YOU to the readers - "Even if AoT is about to end, every moment that we (Isayama and fans) shared together was WORTH IT"
The Ending/Conclusion of Attack on Titan is spoke through Levi's monologue = the sacrifice of the hearts of the scout regimen was to reach this place - "A WORLD WITHOUT TITAN". This brings the whole AoT story to a FULL CIRCLE. It might not feel satisfying for some but it is a SUITABLE Ending consistent and come back to its origin - "Getting Rid of Titans from this world". Isayama didn't set out to provide a solution for human conflict, what he did was only pointing out through Pixis and Erwin that "human conflict will never end until there's only 1 man remain." He emphasized it once again through the end credits shots - nor matter what happens, human conflict never ends. Even if the Rumbling was complete, Paradis will still fight a civil war, even if Paradis was wiped out, the human remain will continue fighting".
However to say this ending is MEANINGLESS was a misinterpretation, the whole discussion on the boat with Historia's letter is designed to specifically answer this - the scouts shall continue to fight in a world without titan, and they shall always fight for peace - Armin: "they will want to hear our story, how we used to fight as enemies have now come together to advocate for peace" This can be viewed as another 4th wall break talking about Attack On Titan, a story about conflict, about human cruelty, about war, about racism, despite EVERYTHING that happened, the ending comes down to both sides reconciling, advocating for peace and working for a better future.
Now for the end credits where we see paradis getting destryed eventually and people mistake it as it was all for nothing but its wrong, eren always knew that the cycle of hate, war and conflict would never end but his actions did bought a peace of atleast 500-1000 years (the buildings looks so futuristic) eren did achieve his goal that was so at least his friends and people on paradis that he knew get to live a long peacefull life and die a natural death by growing older. After a 1000 years modern war happened and paradis was destroyed. It shows that the conflict and war is a never ending cycle, even if eren killed all 100% of humanity except for eldians, conflict would arise between eldians. it is a never ending cycle, we also saw a person in the end who went inside the tree as in a theory that the cycle is reapeating again just like how ymir went in the tree. So long as humans exist in this world, there will always be war and hate. conflict will only end untill we're down to one or less human. That is the reality of our world.
I can understand if you can say it's not satisfying enough for everyone but there's 1000 Hamlets in 1000 people's eyes. It still doesn't takeaway all the GREAT PLOTWIST and BRILLIANT WRITING of ISAYAMA the GENIUS.
Im also really glad that you both were also able to understand this show's complexity, you both really are smarter than 99% of any other reaction channels i've ever watched. It was indeed a great journey with you guys. Also i'd say you two can also try Stiens Gate if you like or wanna know about time travel. Imo its the best anime out there about time travel but its underrated.
Thank you Isayama, Thank you Mappa and Wit, Thank you for all the staffs that worked on this MASTERPIECE. Just as Armin is glad to be born to race with Mikasa and Eren, and Zeke was glad to be born to play catch. I am glad I was born into this world to witness this Masterpiece.

I feel the people who don't like the ending are in the minority and the message of the show completely went over their heads. Anything different would have been extremely out of character for the show and the development of said characters. There was never going to be a happy ending, that's not what life is. This is a story of a kid who never grew up and was handed the ultimate power and all he wanted to do was fulfil his selfish dreams of his concept of freedom. I have to wonder how many people who watched eren's butchering of the kidnapper didn't give a second thought to what his true nature was. Kid was not normal from the start.

      @hortensia4002 Месяц назад +1

It's not that Eren is "stuck" and cannot do anything other than "watch things play out". He is a slave of freedom not because he is controlled by some invisible force, but rather because he is obsessed with the idea of freedom and is ready to do anything to obtain it (even if that means destroying the world). The only outcome he sees is what HE wants. Deep down he wanted to destroy the world because his idea of freedom was filled with EMPTY beautiful landscapes and oceans.
I see a lot of people trying to find a "logic" to Eren's choice. But there isn't. Eren's decisions are based on his personality and mindset. There is nothing else to look at.

I’ve watched this Season End to End multiple times by myself originally, with friends and with lots of ‘reactors’ on RUclips - your reaction series is one of the best I’ve seen, some great observations and rollercoaster of emotions on show 👍
Suggest you watch it back - off screen and appreciate like so many of us; just how brilliantly layered and plotted it really is.

Congrats on finishing this, what a wild ride and it's been a pleasure following along! If you can believe it you both have been some of the most understanding reactors, you caught so many key details early on and got a few predictions correct.
Even after watching a decent number of people react to this, I always shed a tear at watching Levi (my goat) saying his final goodbye to his fallen comrades. They truly gave their hearts.

Probably the best show ever. Anyway don't be upset at the ending. Yes, that is the same tree Ymir fell in, and probably the hallucigenia is still growing in that tree, but that doesn't mean that the mysterious boy in the end will bring back titans, the power of the hallucigenia is not to create titans, is to create life. So even if the cicle repeat, and humans will never learn to be at peace, there's still hope for changing. Loved your reactions, you earned a new sub for life. Thank you girls. Shinzou wo sasageyo! 🤛

80% of humanity being gone and titans being gone seems like it actually evened the odds between rival countries, so there was more peace for future generations, as shown in the time lapse in the credits.

Fun fact: the name of our pilot "Onyankopon" means God, from the Akan dialete of the Ashanti empire.
Isayama's idea of the Eldian race(subjects of Ymir) is diverse touching all continents of the world.
We are all Subjects of Ymir, and this is our tragic evolving story.

Eren showed Mikasa alternate memories of his remaining 4 years living with her that's why she was getting severe headache due to overflow of memories. He showed that he would have died anyway after 4 years due to the curse of Ymir. And Mikasa, experiencing all those years, and watching him die, actually was the point where she was able to finally accept Eren's death and hence able to kill him in the actual timeline.

@JustinasPopovas So Ymir can peek through the memories that we saw in the cabins as well as the entire memories. We all know Eren gave memories to his friends. He fulfilled Armin's wish to explore the lands outside walls. He also gave Mikasa 4 years of his remaining time. That's why in the cabins, Eren says that this is all that she asked for, and Mikasa nods.
