  • In Today's video you can watch me make Osgiliath style ruins completely from scratch using some cheap foam, a cheap board, some paints and some bits and pieces you've like got laying around.
I added a lot of detail to this pieces which took it past what would be considered "good enough" for the game board, but you could choose to stop as soon as you've painted the walls.
You don't necessarily even have to base it.
If you need to buy the bits for this then you can find them here:
Buy the high density foam here -
    amzn.to/40CKAW3
This is 20mm thick, I cut this into 10mm thickness for this particular build.
    Base it on MDF boards
    MDF Boards - amzn.to/3kF63NB
Useful for basing all sorts of builds
    Clear Silicon Rubber - amzn.to/3XVjqr6
Only buy this if you want to make puddles!
    Agrax Earthshade:
    amzn.to/3laWExk
You don't NEED a hot wire cutter but they're great if you want to make more of this type of foam:

Love your homemade hot wire cutter holder

Just a quick one - use water, a bit of fairy liquid and regular acrylic paints to make your own washes rather than using the GW pots - it will go way further and still get a similar overall finish (and is substantially better for your wallet)

    Looks fantatsic. Nice job.
That is some hot wire rig. As someone who doesn't own a proxxon or a handheld cutter that looks like something I need to know more about.......🤔

      Thanks buddy, appreciate it!
I got bought a hot wire cutter for Christmas and then just threw together something to make it a "table saw"
It just goes through this foam and others like it isn't even there!

@@GoodEnoughScenery I have some of that blue foam myself bought off of Amazon. Hard to get decent foam here in the U.K. as I'm sure you're aware. So inaccurate, sloppy cuts and waste is something I'm trying to avoid, it's too costly to not utilise the whole block. I'm using an Olfa at the minute and it cuts it well enough but I need something a little faster without losing the accuracy for making bricks etc. I think I'm gonna try to rig this or something similar up myself. God damn bricks, so, so many bricks.......

@@mordor-focker for individual bricks play mat foam is way easier to work with and much cheaper. This blue foam is great for more intricate designs and curves in my experience.

@@GoodEnoughScenery The EVA stuff? I thought it needed heat sealing first? I don't have a heat gun (yet either), I'm relatively new to the hobby.

Awesome. Certainly gave me a few ideas :) Any chance you could make a video for a stone bridge sometime? It'd be great to have a bridge to span those river tiles, and no osgiliath board is complete without the bridge so It'd fit well with your existing videos too.
