got a gigabyte z170x ud3 mobo that comes with 2 m.2, it would seem that if i wanted to use those u.2 converters for raid or whatever, it will be a very tight squeeze with a bigger air cpu cooler and with a sli/crossfire setup
so if i understand correctly the storage limit is not set by the z170 or motherboard , but instead by intel or other manufacturers ,in example like samsung nvme 950 currently only support 512GB m.2
well i still like the m.2 form factor cause of its smaller size, but will probably produce more heat so close by to other heat generated components and the size of current m.2 will limit how much storage it can hold.
I like the U.2 connector but I having a problem: can you specify the part number because I found 3 model for 1.2tb and I dont know witch one? SSDPE2MW012T4X1 OR SSDE2MW012T4R5 OR SSDPE2MW012T401 ?
+danste01 The model for the U.2 1.2TB 750 Series is SSDPE2MW012T4X1
Please make sata express ssds which would be faster than traditional ssds but cheaper than Nvme ssds
Hi guys
I have a question.
Can I use Intel SSD DC P3500 Series on this board?
Do I need to do anything to get the motherboard to recognize this PCIE SSD?
I hope, U can help me with the answer. :)
Br, Reza
Hi Guys
Can U please help me here? Thanks
+Reza Ismaili Checked on this one should be able to work however there hasn't been validation on the enterprise-class drives on client platforms
Why won't any of you tech guys show us how to tweak, optimize and setup our BIOS for this storage device?!!!!!!!!!
