This segment maybe 6 years later but it is still highly valuable...Its how I became a subscriber for PHLEARN...Having much trouble with this digital imaging - Im stubborn I want to combine instructional with thinking outside the box Im still pressing though even though get points off but segments like these help greatly
I never tried panorama but for my international project I shot multiple photos at some place where I had the permission to enter the venue once, so i took the photos thinking that I'll stitch them together in photoshop by just adding them one after the other. I was so disheartened when i was unable to do so! I searched on internet and didn't find any way out but on youtube I found you teaching panorama in photoshop.... Trust me all my tension vanished since, I have seen many photoshop tutorials of you and they have always taught me something new and productive. Thank You! After watching this tutorial I'm really eager to try more panorama shots for fun.
Panoramic stitching really sounded intimidating and super advanced, but the way you teach it makes it understandable and do-able! Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
Gosh...just at the right time for my site analysis...i was thinking about making panoramas this time..Amazing video!! U guys describe everything sooo well n so easily..I still can't believe that these tutorials r for free!!
I'm completely in love with Phlearn 😍. You really make the perfect tutorials and remind me a lot my ex photoshop's teacher. The good thing about you guys is that you teach how to use the tools more than just how to make any effect, and that is amazing. The way you teach how to see the details and make it real, you explain everything making people see and think about how things looks in reality... Like I always say "first learn to observe around and then you can interpret". I've seen all the tutorials in almost 2 days hahah. And Aaron, you rocks!! Hahah you're soooo funny and talented!, thank you so much for show us how you work!. Xx K.
Wow excellent.. I just went on a trip to St Petersburg Russia and took a heap of panoramic shots on my New X100t...The images that turned out were great but now i want to re edit them with the tips from Aaron...Great Episode....BTW your Pro tutorials were great kill the time on the plane, I always used light room and your tutorials have single handedly turned me to Photoshop..
thank you so much Aaron, this has made several pictures I have had in my folders from when I was visiting the USA to come to life in a whole new way, especialy the astoria collumn pictures, I had no idea it was that easy to combine them together. I have also been using the system to merge photos of a house we are looking at renting to give more views of the rooms that I took pics of and then fill with the items from the current house into the empty rooms
Hey Phlearn, great stuff as always! I've recently picked up a Canon dslr and am loving it! I'm able to be really creative. I've also just bought my first lense which is a 50mm f/1.8 lense for some nice depth of field. Any chance you could put together a simple dslr tutorial series for beginners? I'm starting to find dealing with f/stops, iso and shutter speed a bit easier but I find your teaching methods so easy to follow and I think this would inspire other new photo rookies to to get into photography too. Do you already have something like this?
***** It's my dad's old EOS 300D (he bought the 600D). It's only a 6MP shooter but the pictures are still beautiful and completely usable. It's a fantastic piece of kit. :)
if your looking for some begginer tutorials on filmaking over at indy mogul they have some great but they are about video. i am also looking for some hands on tutorials for photography, if anyone knows some id appreciate it.
I agree. They market as Photoshop and photography tutorials, but I've rarely seen photography tutorials. I love Phlearn, and I've learned tons of valuable info from them, but it's mostly been for Photoshop. I would love for Phlearn to put as much effort and information into photography tutorials as they do Photoshop tutorials. My knowledge would skyrocket if they were to do that.
I really love your work guys. Aaron is just a pleasure to watch and all your videos helped me to improve my photos so much. Thanks for doing what you do!
I love your channel! it's the only tutorial channel i can follow at 3AM despite my ADHD, simple and effective. much love - An Italian fan who started using PS last week P.S. Quickest question: how to change a brush's size on windows?
Really nice tutorial. I've been strugling with empty spots that i tried to fill out with different tools so often... And now you gave me few important tips. Thank you very much!
Your work Aaron is great and it really made me improve so much with your creative topics and techniques, Ive been really having a hard time making a proper focus stacking for a landscape shots, changing the focus ring seems to shift the focal distance somehow. Is it possible that this focus stacking topic to be shown in one of your episodes. Thank you in advance for all the beautiful work you have presented so far and for the crew who made it possible in a great way
Hi Phlearn I'm watching your tutorials for couple of months now, and I have learned a lot about ps and photography... find your tutorials the best ones - Thank You so much! Recently I bumped in to a problem with color binding (tonal gradients are not smooth)... At the end of shows, Aron invites us to say what would we like to se in tutorials, so this is my wish and proposition for next one. this problem is specialy present in black&white edit thank you once again and best wishes in 2015!
Great tutorial as usual Aaron! Been following your videos a lot and have learnt so much about compositing and photoshop! Is there any chance of you making a proper food image tutorial someday? Would be really helpful how to edit and create a nice goodlooking image of a plate for a magazine, an ad or the web. Thanks!
Beautiful desert photo in your video! Just some additional information: I went back to some old images I had and tried it with them. The problem was that the images were taken with a 14mm lens in landscape mode, two big no-no's for panoramic photography. I wanted to try it anyways as the sunset in the photos was really good. It would not work without checking "Geometric Distortion". The result was an interesting and curved super wide angle photo that was better than the original photos individually, although highly distorted.
Hey, ***** Great Stuff! Easy to learn since you talk loud and clear. I am deaf. Nice tutorials. Any chance you could put together a short video to share us your Wacom tablet settings and shortcut keys? I just got the same one that you are using now. I would like to know the setup that you are using it. Thanks :)
Yo Nace, I'm watching A Dark Force right now, and it kicks ass! You sound kinda like a weirder Bob Ross. (That's a compliment, Bob Ross is a god) The Full Check action included in that tutorial looks like it might be the most helpful photoshop tool I've ever downloaded, but the video kind of confused me as to which layers to have active/hidden at which time. Obviously for brightness you want only the channel mixer/black and white layer active, but I'm not sure when to use the other 3. Anyway, really glad I bought it regardless. It's cool to see the more creative applications of Photoshop, cuz a lot of people aren't actually professional retouchers or photographers, and learning the more artistic side of Photoshop opens up whole new possibilities and is often just as useful in its own way. Plus, I think the ability to create huge, fully original compositions probably makes for a pretty nice addition to a portfolio as well. May the jive be with you.
Thank you for your video. I produced a great image after first learning how to do it from this tutorial. I took 5 vertical shots at 14mm, which could be a bit too wide, but I wanted to see if it would work. It did work, with some distortion, but it looks great overall. The image consists of 5 vertical shots taken at 125/s stitched together and 5 vertical shots taken at 2000/s stitched together. Then, both images (light and dark) were auto-aligned, with the lighter image as the primary, and then I used gradient fill to darken the sky and a few other areas. I then cropped the photo and added a little contrast, and it was done. The HDR technique really helps when there is large contrast between the land and the sky. I did not even use a tripod as I had to reach up over a small gate. I don't even think my travel tripod extends high enough. I plan to try this again with a tripod and taking more shots at less wide angle.
This is a great tip. Do you think you can make an episode where you can teach us how to combine a long exposure shot with a normal one in order to remove trees and grass flickering?
You used Photoshop CC in this tutorial, which is by the way AWESOME!!! But my question is: Are all the functions you used also available in Photoshop Elements 13 or 14? Thanks for the answer in advance! :)
Can you do a tutorial about photo manipulation, and show us what is the best technique, and share some tips for that? Or you already have a video about that, which i missed? Enjoying in your tutorials since "How to make fake blood in photoshop" :D Thanks in advance.
Hi Aaron, absolutely helpful tutorial. So happy I found this. Around min 3 you say not to select "Vignett Removal" and "Geometric Distortion Correction" as there would be better techniques for it, but you don't elaborate on it. Can you please explain or point me to the follow-up video where you explain how to remove vignetting in panos? I am currently working on a 4x4 pano (4 horizontal images and 4 vertical images taken in landscape mode at 125mm focal length) where several frames show vignetting, especially in the sky. How can I get rid of it? In the uploaded original raw files I have "lens correction" selected. Thanks a lot :)
Hey Aaron, I was wondering if it would be smarter to make that merged layer a smart object. Also, do you think that opening up an acr filter and using the spot correction in there can be better than the healing brush since you can visualize the dust more easily? Love your channel btw!
Aaron also teaches you how to rebuild a missing part or cleaning a spotted one, using the blender-mixer, quickly hiding the result. I understand that is a great, magical and very useful lesson for beginners and really funny!
Thanks for the Video! i Tried it myself it looks super awesome. But i have two people in it which look very much distorted. Lens Correction das not do the job. Is there i way to Fix it?
I like your videos a lot. Even the ones like this that I know how to do already are still interesting to watch. My only problem is the sound. It's clear, but very low. I have to turn my volume up so much in order to hear them. This makes my notifications and all other alerts very loud. Is it possible you raise the volume on future videos please?
U guyz are just amazing and you are really totally Uber cool... Actualy I wanted to learn about how make my face burn... Like something sort of GHOST RIDER stuff... But instead of skull I could my face...!!! It would be great... If you teach me something like that...
Also important to go on Manual mode (not AV or TV) for manual exposure to keep same exposure from frame to frame else you will get different tones from frame to frame.
Hey Phlearn I'm really in to this. And I think you are amazing, even though "it's just a quick job". But I want a Graphics Tablet like the one you have. Could you please tell me which one it is? Regards
amazing tutorial, working on my first panorama. please tell me the draw pad and pen that you are using, i think it makes editing alot easier as using a mouse is hard to control for finer details and small adjustments.
Hi, thank you for the wonderful episode. I want to ask a question about the "photomerge" function in photoshop in CC2014 and CS6. I realize that when we use "photomerge" in CC2014, the layer mask of the image is just curves and straight lines. It works in this simple situation. However, if I use the same method in CS6, the edge of layer mask of the image is much more accurate. The "photomerge" function is much greater in CS6 in my opinion. You can have a try with more complex images. Why photoshop have this change?

thanks! it was super helpful
Wonderful tutorial as always! It is also important to use manual exposure, not auto, and keep the exposure the same for all shots.
Really good job. Thx a lot
thanks phlearn!
I think you've got a problem with your speakers because I have the sounds almost all the way down and it's pretty loud.
James Galloway everything else is loud except their videos. I have to crank my stereo from usual settings to hear is comfortably.
Team-Shmo check your settings because I have them very low and it's still loud.
thank you this was helpful.
Love your vids! Can you do one on how to make bad quality photos good quality? That would be cool.
Thanks!
pefect really good 😍😍😍thanks

Awesome video!
I didnt even know that panoramas are used for this. :D
Hey Phlearn
I'm really in to this. And I think you are amazing, even though "it's just a quick job". But I want a Graphics Tablet like the one you have.
Could you please tell me which one it is?
Regards
Many thanks ;)
Do you have any videos about making a streamline panorama? Im struggling.
Really it is helpful tutorial !
amazing tutorial, working on my first panorama. please tell me the draw pad and pen that you are using, i think it makes editing alot easier as using a mouse is hard to control for finer details and small adjustments.
We use the Wacom Intuos Pro Small
what is your suggestion on the following, it falls within my budget. Wacom Intuos Draw A6 Pen Tablet
Thank you for the video
Hi, thank you for the wonderful episode. I want to ask a question about the "photomerge" function in photoshop in CC2014 and CS6.
I realize that when we use "photomerge" in CC2014, the layer mask of the image is just curves and straight lines. It works in this simple situation.
However, if I use the same method in CS6, the edge of layer mask of the image is much more accurate. The "photomerge" function is much greater in CS6 in my opinion. You can have a try with more complex images. Why photoshop have this change?
Great video!
Ever tried using this method on a portrait session? I have a 50mm f1.8 and would like to capture a wide field of view with a shallow dof. Try it on groups and solo portrait sessions. Would like feedback on this before executing with a client.
awesome sauce!
Thank you! that was a huge help
There are areas where the stitching doesn't exactly match up, such as the peak of the mountain in the background. Do you have any tips for this?
It would be great if Aaron addressed the odd little quirks in Photoshop via viewer emails and questions. Like when you lose your circle with brushes because the caps lock is on.
