I’m tired of seeing people saying Fields is playing just like Pickett did and that Fields is trash, he is literally playing how any QB would play on this Steelers team especially with Arthur Smith at OC, but fields hasn’t turned the ball over and he’s hit his deep shots when needed. This offense is hindered by penalties, not poor play.
Pickett could not throw the ball down field. He had a terrible deep ball. Yeah you don't need to throw deep all the time but you need to have some sort of deep ball threat. Pickett couldn't do that and wasn't nearly as mobile either. Pickett didn't have nearly the talent and upside to Fields had. @andref9663

No way the Steelers will drop their home opener. Fields will be 3-0. Steelers were building this team around Kenny Pickett and getting us back to 2004. We ended up getting 2 or even THREE QBs of equal or better quality. Steelers finish the season with 10-12 wins.

Thats why Belichick obsessed over finding stud TEs from his days in Cleveland when he wanted to draft Kyle Brady to Gronk. A stud TE creates a massive mismatch in the steelers defense and they must make a choice to either let the TE destroy them or break their own defense to cover the TE. so this game acttually comes down to Chargers TE Will Dizzly. If he can play well, the steelers are in big trouble.

He ended up gaining 3 yards on the first fumbled snap don’t exactly remember the second one and the 3rd one was on the offensive line, and you can’t expect a qb to make every single read out there and when he misses reads he has the ability to escape and pick up big yards with his legs which is what makes him special and his passes have been very pretty and accurate this far

The Falcons and Broncos are statistically good defenses. Denver is 8th in total YPG ATL is 16th, DEN passing YPG is 4th ATL is 8th, PPG they are both 12th. You can't hide that Fields just knows what he is doing. And when he puts up one of his good games your going to move the goalposts.

He’s in year 4 and still struggles to read a defense , Arthur smith is having to dumb down his scheme to protect turnovers so the defense can win the game. He has arm talent and can make throw on the field like we saw against the broncos with the Pickens throw but doesn’t have the football IQ to do it on a consistent basis.
