Bill, I am a general contractor here in georgia and have been for 32 years. I turn to you and Deb for advice on building my conversion. Dont pay attention to nay sayers. you guys are doing fantastic. Literally, its not a brick and morter. its a rolling tin can that we build our way for our needs. Great Job guys.
So glad you can remove the negative comments. There are people who complain about everything! Love the progress. And it is now summer in the south. And will only get hotter!
We LOVE you guys and are buying a cargo trailer in 2023. Saving a lot of your videos cause we like how you do things. Oh and you two are so adorable!!!
Very well said Bill, it is very sad people have to be so negative. I myself like seeing other ideas different people have. But I am definitely going to do what I want and never bad mouth another for doing things differently. Enjoying the build so far keep working.
Hey y'all, you two have a great thing going here. I have been watching your build along with many others that you interview and their builds. I am working on my first conversion now, due to hurricane Ian. I was sent to work the hardest hit areas of the hurricane the day after it hit, and stayed there for approximately 4 months. I never had a plan to do a conversion until there were no hotels and nowhere to stay. So I brought my cargo trailer down and bought the essentials for a more comfortable stay. Now I am working on making it in to more then that and slowly improving with electrical, insulation, upgrades, and much more. It has turned into a hobby now sort of for me and I am enjoying it. My wife is also excited about it too. Thank you for sharing all that you do for the community to get ideas, and information on different materials and products.
Bill & Deb, like I have said previously, I plan on doing a cargo trailer conversion sometime in the near future. I have been following your channel and learning from your videos, as well as other people's channels. When I build, I will incorporate as many ideas as I can, so it works best for MY needs and budget. I am thankful for everything that I am seeing and learning, and I sincerely appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience. Thank you! As for the negative comments, I do my best to ignore them on a daily basis. In my honest opinion, I feel those that are the most critical of others are the ones that dwell in their own self inflicted misery. Thanks again for all you are doing and sharing. I appreciate you more than you would ever know. Keep up the great work, and sharing the joys of life!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for sharing! My wife and I are new to this. We recently bought a new 7x7x14 cargo trailer to convert it. I have been following you to get ideas and learn more. Thank you for taking the time to share all of your ideas. I has helped me a lot.
Everyone else who is sitting at home these days seems to be either a tuff guy or a know it all... obviously you were very successful in your first build and you have Carpenter experience so to me you obviously know what you are doing and ignore the ignorance and arrogance that seems to be everywhere especially in comment sections.. can't wait to see more of the build so I can continue to learn. God bless you both
You are doing a great job Bill and Deb !!!!!!!! I love all the scientist and engineers that think they know everything , just ignore them and do what you do !!!!!! Love the Chanel Robert from Ohio !!!!!!
Your videos are excellent. The detail, your demeanor, your wife's attitude, the extra information, etc.. Keep doing your thing. I am considering doing a build. Meantime I can live vicariously through you folks. I love watching your vids. 😁!
Y’all are doing an amazing construction job on your new “tiny house”! Ignore and block those who try to tell you how to do what you already know how to do. Some folks just don’t know how to zip it 🤐 Looking forward to bumping into y’all again along these Happy Trails! Keep on living the life! 👍🏻
Love you guys! Your build is going to be awesome. Can't wait to see the finished product, especially since you've decided to build the bed differently than you did in your last CTC. Ignore the haters. You all have got this and it's going to be fantastic!
I think you are doing a fabulous job and to get that guy back for the thermal bridging when you install your solar panels haven't a 1 inch air gap between the roof and the panel which will do wonders for thermal transfer reduction!
Your doing an awesome job as usual. So happy for you both that you can start to see the new home coming together!! Keep it up. Looks great! - Paul, Julie and Ms. Lydia
Thanks guys. Very helpful. I'm not that far behind you in my build. And I am purposely staying behind you as I love your build ideas. I think it's amazing how much you get done in such a short period of time.
You’ve seen enough examples to know what’s right. I trust your opinions. I really like the double side entrance doors. That’s a first time seeing this on a cargo conversion for me.
Bill and Deb , i really enjoy your videos on building your trailer into a tini home on wheels , and especially showing other people's trailers and giving so many great ideas to all of us that are in the early planning on utilizing the space in these trailers , looking forward to get ready to start my build on my 7x16 aluminum Neo cargo trailer ,and making it a multi use camper with the UTV
I feel you. Can't even comprehend the mindset of folks sitting around looking to teardown others ideas. Constuctive tips are one thing...and well appreciated, but out right trolling is ridiculous.
I think you have a grasp on what you’re doing Bill, shoot I didn’t insulate mine and I have no issue heating or cooling but I also only camp a few weeks a year. But with that said I’ve been in 25deg and 110deg with no issue so what you have going on will be 100 times better than nothing (not that you needed my reassurance) and I would tell you not to worry about what the keyboard commandos say but I fall into giving them credence sometimes they long for but don’t deserve!! I enjoy watching you and your lovely wife and do hope some day to meet up and share a fire!!
So sorry for rude comments. People have lost their manners. There are many ways to a thing. People need to appreciate your work and effort of your build. I love watching your project. So creative.
Thanks for all that you guys do. Just one thing though, I have been under the impression you have been giving instructions on these builds as the way everyone should be doing things. I've gone to great lengths to build mine exactly like yours, after all, there are two of us and we will go where you go (just not at the same time). 🤣🤣🤣
You 2 are doing a outstanding job keep up the great job. !!!!!! I love all the scientist and engineers that think they know everything , you just keep doing what works for you !!!Robert from Ohio !!!! Love the Chanel !!!!!!
I’m very impressed by your build, your patience, and your ability to work and laugh together. Haters will find something wrong regardless. You could paint The Last Judgement on the ceiling and they’d complain. Malcontents are never satisfied and best left to wallow in their own mire!
Isn't that the beauty of having your home on wheels you don't have to stay where the weather isn't 70 degrees, you pick up and move to a place that is beautiful. I'm really enjoying watching the build, I have a travel trailer now and will start out using it when I retire (3 years) just until I figure out what style of traveler I am, they say use what you have until you figure it out, I'm leaving all options open, bus (school and shuttle) class C, cargo trailer etc. I'll be a solo female traveler so I will need to decide also what is a safe option for me.
Funny to me that there are people who sit at a computer and criticize, and there are those who actually build...Keep on keeping on, I found your page because of the common sense building! Getting ready to start a new one.
I’m looking forward to watching the whole process of taking your unit from trailer to a wonderful home on wheels. Be safe and keep making your wonderful videos.
Bill you have an attitude, and its a good one. Deb trained you well! I love seeing all the creativity of the members of this CTC community and the bad thing, the only bad thing its addictive. You used the term mesmerized. That's about it for me too. Keep on living and sharing. I certainly appreciate you guys.
Hey Bill, good job. You know, one thing that never gets talked about either is that wood, esp. soft wood, will not conduct a cooler or hotter temp as much as steel or alum. Your doing fine my friend and dont give the haters anymore press. . . they don't deserve it. :)
you have to live it nobody else does you both are doing well with your build and say puff puff to those that disagree your home sweet home you make for u to enjoy can't wait to see the finished product
Thank you. It's your thoughts, ideas, suggestions & experience of taking a something...& turning it into a something for you. I hope to do this as well. I look forward to learning more, so I may turn a something...into something for me. Thank You!
Good video, and like yourselves I am embarking on a trailer build, without RUclips and the people giving tips on build's I would be lost, so thanks. I live in northern Canada for keeping the heat in would be my priority, as opposed to down south and keeping the heat out, but the same approach applies to both.
Nice video. Something to think about before you frame your soffit for the mini split air handler. The air handler sits on a bracket. When installing it you put the unit above the bracket and slide it down onto the bracket. I Made this mistake on my build and did not leave enough room to make this maneuver. Had to rebuild that area on mine. I also secured it with a simple 3/4"x1"x16" piece of wood screwed over the unit so it can not be lifted off. I was afraid I was going to hit a bump and the unit would fly off. She is rock solid now. I also used pool noodles along the entire length of the AC lines in addition to the pipe insulation to help avoid any abrasion from the traveling so I had to build a big enough chase to accommodate this. I'm sure you have thought of this! I mention this just in case and may save you a headache or 2.......... Keep up the good work.
I do need to talk to you about how you brought the lines through the front wall. If memory serves, you used a potty flange for the pass through. I'm curious how you sealed around the tube when you brought them through, or, if you even needed too. We'll be installing the mini split down near Tallahassee around the first or 2nd week in June. Wouldn't it be great if you could take a little vacation down there.😄
@@billanddeb LOL. Wish you were a bit closer. I would head on over to help. I miss building a CTC. Put on my awning today. Will have some video of that to show soon.
Really glad for your experience and to see how you are progressing. I'll be starting my trailer in a few months. As a single woman with limited construction experience and skills I am grateful for your lessons. Just one request tho... Let's not waste time on the knuckle heads. They are children with no editor looking for attention.
Great trailer build, great video, and really great comment on building a cargo trailer to your needs. I'm starting a 4'X8' cargo trailer build that will be my solar power/generator power station & storage trailer being pulled behind my Ford Transit Connect van. Thank you for sharing your trailer build, I've picked up a lot of good ideas from your videos.
I Love you guys 💖 You both are such an inspiration to the community...and yes I did get a lot of ideas from y'all during my build. Like Lisa Schippert said below "You do You - I do me" I'll be following along...Looking awesome already ✨
First o f all I really like your channel content. Here is a cartoon I think you will like that I have recently seen and it goes like this.. After a traffic accident a man is cut from his car and as he’s loaded into the ambulance by the rescue squad he looks up and says. Are you taking me to the local hospital? The ENT answers no sir you’re way too sick for that, we’re taking you to the comment section. I say do it your way and forget or turn off the comments. I was a builder and also owned a trucking company. Everything I see you doing has my blessing from the builder part of me. Think about it, the only thing that really matters is door height so you don’t hit your head, everything else you will get use to. Take care, god bless.
Your attitudes and your explanations of 'this is how we did it and its great if you can get ideas from our build' is why I watch your channel. No, I may not do things the same way but I have gotten many great ideas from you. I have asked you questions and made some suggestions and I have always been treated well and respectfully by you (again, another reason why I subscribed and watch). Keep up the great videos and simply ban the obnoxious and mean commenters because none of us want to put up with them.
Really Uplifting to see ya'' ll again, esp when I think of where 'our ' health has been in past 2 yrs!!!!! and I am so happy to see ya So Well! Been about a yr since I dropped in...Confession... I was one who just couldnt bear to see that old bed setup....but I'm glad I wasnt disrespectful in any way..Happy Travellin. Great job!
ruclips.net/video/sjf-kML50GA/видео.html Glad you checked in again. You might want to check this video out. We discuss the bed configuration (among other things) after almost 2 years Full-timing in our conversion.
I'm very much enjoying your new build!!! Cant wait to see it completed!!! I found you guys by searching for cargo conversion videos and have been watching y'all ever since. I have watched every video you have done with the tours of different people's cargo conversions and have picked up so many ideas while I'm enjoying watching you build your new trailer I'm chomping at the bit to build mine. Fingers crossed i will be picking it up mid June and starting the cargo conversion journey take care and looking forward to the next video!!!
Hi Bill and Deb, I have tested these " air gap" insulation recommendations and none of them performed as well as closed gap no void insulation products. So personally, I do what you guys just did. Happy Trails!
You know I'm selling my converted school bus and I'm seriously seriously thinking about buying a pickup truck and a pull behind trailer like you have you guys have really made me think thank you stay safe stay strong stay healthy god bless and enjoy life✌💖💪👏🙏👨🍳🎅🚌👍
There will always be people that want to try to bring you down. Just ignore them. You're right to say you build for you on how you use it. Love you guy's!
Great job guys! Heck, if thermal bridging was such a concern your could put down a thin sheet of laminate flooring padding, about 1/16 or 1/8" thick. Given your climate I don't think it's worth the effort! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build! New Sub!
A trick I learned in Operation Iraqi Freedom is freeze bottles of water instead of using loose ice. No mess, reusable and in a pinch, you have more water available if needed.
I think you guys are doing a great job!! Hope mine comes out just as nice. Your way of dealing with knuckleheads' is why I subscribed and liked your channel. Keep up the good work.
Bill I like the way yall building this... do get distracted by those who have their wrong ways of doing it.. we doing this our way... lol ... Deb ... keep pushing... lol 😂
Nice video. Lovely couole. Great information. I am converting box truck. I did 1" layer pink panther in between the ribs and 1" full paneks on top with pine T & G, works great. Me too, chasing 70-80 degrees.
Nice work and I agree 100%. There are always critics. Those folks who come in just to be negative and tell you how much they know are just tiny people. Love your channel and content. Press on!
Thank you for actually saying what the degree difference was due to the thermal bridging, I am about to be building a similar project and I have been wondering how much thermal bridging really affects things during the heat. I am just a bit more south in Florida and the heat is my concern as well.
We enjoy your videos! Keep on keeping on and don’t worry about those trolls who seem to feel they need to correct everyone else but themselves. Would love the pleasure of meeting you both sometime!
We learned about East Bank Campground from you all and stayed there for 10 days a week ago and have made reservations for there in late October. Great place to stay. Thanks for the heads up!!
I lived out of an old 70's motorhome in Northern Minnesota in temperatures of -40 F. The insulation of motorhomes from that era is horrible, and there were a LOT of windows. I survived just fine. These DIY cargo trailer builds are WORLDS better insulated even when considering "thermal bridging". Honestly, people get carried away with "doing it perfect" when doing it well is sufficient. You're doing just fine, you likely have far more insulation than your heater or air-conditioner truly needs to maintain comfort. Then it's just a question of efficiency as regards your energy costs, and I'm quite certain it will remain more than affordable.
In .y trailer I didn't insulated the floor and I go from Wisconsin in September/October to Arizona for the winter and then back to Wisconsin in April an just use a rug if it to cold (in the 20 and 30's at night) I have and Waves and a small electric heater when I'm using shore power. Build it for you to h$ll with them.
My Dad always told me theirs more than one way to skin a cat and I'm 65 you would everyone would have heard that old sayin keep up the great work Bill looks good to me and I've been around construction most of my life also GBU later
AWESOME video. I wish the trolls would keep their comments and dislikes to themselves. However, no matter what they comment, or even if they give a dislike - RUclips counts it towards our engagement rates which we always want to increase. In reality, negative comments still help our channels. So who's laughing now - not the trolls! DO IT YOUR WAY!
You are correct build it for your wants , not someone else’s wants. I like to say it this way also, I pay I have a say. And our government should understand this union will not stand without the AMERICAN TAXPAYERS. Be careful how much you piss off the AMERICAN TAXPAYERS.
Don't worry about the crazies. Did you give angry consideration to those apart foam 2 party for installations? Not enough R value or do you think it would not Handel the movement? Just wondering? I am doing mine like yours but had that thought?
Well I think you guys are doing a terrific job of it. I've watched quite a few videos on RV and diy over the past few years and thought about the cargo trailer route so I could make it comfortable and cost effective the way I want,so I'm just watching along and wish I could get my husband to get interested. We would be part time so I was thinking maybe we could get by with an 8 x 16. Yours is 8.5 x 20 right? Hope all this learning from you sticks with me, or Ill just have to go back and review your other. videos. Plus all the great interviews you've done have helped and showed so many great ideas. Thanks for sharing it all otherwise many of us wouldn't have a clue! Haha speaking for myself of course.
Well said Bill! "It's your thing do what you want to do." - The Isley Brothers I'm at the very beginning of the process. Still doing the Need, Want, Dream list of items and functions the trailer will have. I too follow a lot of the different vehicle builds. Lots of good ideas (and some bad) out there. Could you be kind enough to post links to some of the people you and Deb follow?

It has been a blessing to follow you & Deb on our journey.

Very informative and very well laid out rebuttal on the thermal bridging!
Be careful working in that heat.

That's the whole idea. Thanks you so much for your encouraging comment. ❤ This is why we have the RUclips channel.
Really Uplifting to see ya'' ll again, esp when I think of where 'our ' health has been in past 2 yrs!!!!! and I am so happy to see ya So Well! Been about a yr since I dropped in...Confession... Glad you checked in again.
Appreciate you showing what you're building,
Great job guys!
Thank you
Bill I like the way yall building this... do get distracted by those who have their wrong ways of doing it.. we doing this our way... lol ... Deb ... keep pushing... lol 😂
Trailer is coming along! Cooler is neat!
Keep up the good work..love the progress - and y'alls attitude in general! Cooler looks nifty, too
Enjoy watching your new build.
Hot Damn, Smokin Wife, Smokin Trailer and a Smokin Build Out, I will be anxiously watching the progress.
Nice video. Lovely couole. Great information. I am converting box truck. I did 1" layer pink panther in between the ribs and 1" full paneks on top with pine T & G, works great. Me too, chasing 70-80 degrees.
great job on the double insulted roof will be comfortable to live in
Nice work and I agree 100%. There are always critics. Those folks who come in just to be negative and tell you how much they know are just tiny people. Love your channel and content. Press on!
You're moving right along, may I recommend no adult beverages while using power tools 😉
Thank you for actually saying what the degree difference was due to the thermal bridging, I am about to be building a similar project and I have been wondering how much thermal bridging really affects things during the heat. I am just a bit more south in Florida and the heat is my concern as well.
Love your videos, that's a lot of work especially in the heat. So excited for ya'll.
You guys are great, I’ll run into y’all soon enough. I’m leaving in about 3 months.
Dont let these jerks get to ya. I am learning a lot from you guys
Great build! Thermal Bridging is way over rated for milder climates. No snow no problem for how you are doing it!
Looks good to me. I certainly wouldn't have come up with your way. I think yours is better.
We enjoy your videos! Keep on keeping on and don’t worry about those trolls who seem to feel they need to correct everyone else but themselves. Would love the pleasure of meeting you both sometime!
Maybe we can make that happen some day.
We learned about East Bank Campground from you all and stayed there for 10 days a week ago and have made reservations for there in late October. Great place to stay. Thanks for the heads up!!
You are correct it’s a cargo trailer thermal bridging doesn’t make any difference when you have wheels!!!
What is thermal bridging. I'm in Florida. It's hot and humid. Would I be better off having a different insulation??
never let perfect defeat good enough
Thanks for sharing! Nice job 👍 and a great attitude 😎
Your life, your dwelling, your choice, enjoy yourself.
My Dad always told me theirs more than one way to skin a cat and I'm 65 you would everyone would have heard that old sayin keep up the great work Bill looks good to me and I've been around construction most of my life also GBU later
Looking good. You know there's always a bad apple(asshole) , but you are right it don't spoil the whole bunch. Yall do a great job on this channel
LOVE THE SHOW!!!! 💜💜💜
Thanks. im gathering information on this topic and this video helps me alot
We know. But still, sometimes ya just gotta say, enough is enough.
@@billanddeb I completely agree.
wish i could find the order of this build, wife and i are wanting to under take this approach and i like to follow this build along
Ignore the comments from people with narcissistic personality disorder. They can't help themselves. Thanks Doctor Ramani!
Yes ser its your trailer. in joy it and have fun
You are correct build it for your wants , not someone else’s wants. I like to say it this way also, I pay I have a say. And our government should understand this union will not stand without the AMERICAN TAXPAYERS. Be careful how much you piss off the AMERICAN TAXPAYERS.
It is pronounced Boosheee. It basically means fancy above your raising. That cooler and your new rig both qualify. Good for you I say. 🙂
Great video thanks a bunch
Well said Bill!

I'm at the very beginning of the process. Still doing the Need, Want, Dream list of items and functions the trailer will have. I too follow a lot of the different vehicle builds. Lots of good ideas (and some bad) out there. Could you be kind enough to post links to some of the people you and Deb follow?
