People always say Moon Knight is like Batman, but I feel like he’s more like Azrael cuz they both wear hoods, they’re vigilantes, and are in servitude of a voice in their head
It feels like batman has nothing but the highest respect for azrael. He trains to protect the city, gives his sword as a vow to not kill and even earned batman's respect by not only breaking the sword to keep his vow for good but to follow the right decisions.
Also, the Order gave the sword to Azrael claiming that it was holy and indestructible as long as his crusade against evil burned through. By breaking it so easily is further confirmation that the Order where liars from the very start, manipulating him to use him as a tool.
I prefer this choice. Since Azrael has studied Batman, he has seen the good he has done and yes, while crime continues to flourish, he never gives up. The fact that he earns Batman’s respect by breaking the sword shows how he is willing to protect Gotham and keep his vow, even if the Order wanted Batman dead.

I remember playing this side mission and thought the game would be over if I do kill Batman. Don't remember if I broke the sword or left the clock tower but I do remember either way being the right choice.
Pretty sure him leaving the clock tower could be a canon ending for Azrael, I mean since 2 of the 3 ends are for him to leave and not trying to kill Batman. And also batman was putting his hopes on Michael that he does have free will still while having his back turned against him and is disappointed if you choose to "kill" batman. So either way it's like the game wants you to leave the clock tower instead of killing batman
Funfact Azrael could really be the new Batman for the next Arkham game if there is one. The real ending from Azrael is that he dont try to kill Batman. This can be checked when you go to the GCPD and look to the Main Villains Board. There are 11 Super Villains on the board but if you try to kill Batman and bring Azrael to the PD the number change to 12 Villains. This is a insane detail that show us that actually the game dont take it as real ending and normaly azrael should go away. I dont think that this is a mistake and i hope we gonna have azrael back in a new game i really like him :D

Azrael is one of my favorite characters. In the Knightfall comic he gets to replace batman as a stand in for bruce but he gets out of control with it, I think he starts killing people but I can't remember, I just know as a character he had no restraint at all and robin or nightwing or something have to take him down and pacify him. Knightfall is an awesome read if you get around to it, this game takes a lot of cues from that, there's a whole arc in it called city of fear where scarecrow takes over. It also paints bain as the mastermind, he's so stupid in most media. In the dark knight rises they sort of did him justice because he was calculating and intelligent enough to defeat batman.
Knightfalls so good because it achieved exactly what DC wanted, to show why the attitude of 90s comics would never really work on batman and people hated and still hate Azrael for it, because that's what DC wanted people to do, hate azrael.

The brainwashing is always that thing which _seems_ natural. And the nature is kinda cruel, but mostly apathetic. It doesn't care what was there and what will be. But _we care._ We *overcome* the nature because of that. So did Azrael. Batman may show him this path, but Michael decided to walk himself.

@@CajunStyle you can leave without picking up the sword by going straight for the elevator instead. The dialogue is the same with Batman coming up behind him and saying he did the right thing. If you do this, the sword remains on that shelf, so anytime you come back to the clocktower as Batman, the sword is still there. I chose that option because I like having the sword there as a decoration and reminder of Azrael lol.

well, depends on which sword it is, as Azrael has two the sword of sin and the sword of salvation by the smokey aura of it, it might be the sword of salvation there, and both seem to be magical in some way, since they talk to the wielder can "ignite" their aura with a thought of the one using them, and when they cleave through someone they either make them repent or bring up every sin the person has comitted, so, with that in mind probabbly a type of magical steel

Should of had Azrael help out in the league of Assassins side quest. Could have been reveled that The Order was like a subgroup within the League or something like that and having Azrael help batman deal with them and have his vengeance

Very fitting that batman tells him "You always had a choice". If he picks the other option, the player doesn't lose control of him. There's a good metaphor there for agency, in this one he has none.
Should of had Azrael help out in the league of Assassins side quest. Could have been reveled that The Order was like a subgroup within the League or something like that and having Azrael help batman deal with them and have his vengeance
Except the order is separate from the league of assassin's. What should of happend was an azrael based dlc. Batgirl and Harley Quinn outta all people got DLC. Made no sense why he didn't get any love
@@__Theta__ Plus the other characters got extra gadgets. So should Azrael to make his skillset more unique than just a lesser Batman tree of gadgets.

So...is it Azrael at the end of Arkham Knight or? I've never seen anyone with a clear answer, some say its Azrael, some say it's Jason Todd and some have even said it's just Bruce Wayne already back to fight. I'm leaning towards Azrael myself, if anyone was going to 'evolve' the Bat symbol and make it something to fear again it would be him.
