      The NASCAR series really puts a lot more weight on the driver; in F1, if you're not Ferrari/MB/RedBull, you're a place filler. you can get in a Nascar, and have it close to the limit pretty quick if you are an accomplished race driver, F1 car may take a few days to get close to the limit.. Jimmy could do it, but not in a few laps, never having done it before.. tire temps , brake temps, cornering forces, neck muscles, fitness, etc, plus a custom seat, left foot braking, all the drs/t/c, electronics , brake bias, and the rate at which things happen in an f1 car (normally off the mark on heavy braking into an apex).. takes time to do well, that car is almost a custom fit for Alonzo's dimensions as well, pedal length , throttle response, tps preference , driving style , plus areo setup.. set the car up nice and neutral, and hope jimmy doesn't pitch in in the wall too many times.. lol
      Maybe after a good few laps and a day or so , but not in the time allotted for these sawps , kinda fell for Jimmy, talent is there.. just no seat time

      Indy is certainly gonna be a challenge; in any given year a good amount of the field has a chance of winning. The 2 times Fernando won only 2 cars really had a chance, at Le Mans it was 1 of the 2 Toyotas or a Rebellion if Toyota were cursed again. That's just the nature of an oval track and a (semi) spec series.
      Edit: The 2 times Fernando won Monaco only 2 teams had a chance. In 2006 it was gonna be Renault or Ferrari, in 2007 it was gonna be McLaren or Ferrari.

Now you have to remember that Jimmie has never driven on this track while Fernando has for many many years. That's probably why Fernando's time in the NASCAR was faster than Jimmie's.

      Tacticool Millenial Nascar has 3 levels and the highest level (the one with Jimmie in it) has 3 road courses (left and right turns) and the other levels have 3-4 road courses they run too and not many people know that out of the states but it’s a stereotype that they only do left turns but look at watkins glen for example.. Anyways also NASCAR has had a ratings increase in all 10-15 races they have had so far this year and attendance has gone up and now almost every race has been either sold out or atleast 80-95% full with all tracks seating atleast 60,000 people and this is the first 1/3rd of the season and it gets even more exciting later in the season and that’s where all the hype in the states happens so it was dying but now is back on the rise again slowly but surely.

    Gotta figure that it is less of an adjustment for the F1 driver to go to a NASCAR since that is closer to a street vehicle so at least there is a point of comparison vs the F1 car for which there really is nothing to compare it to if you have only driven regular cars and NASCAR.

  • @reeepingk
    @reeepingk 5 лет назад +15

    This is very telling. The F1 driver treats the NASCAR as a toy, where as the NASCAR driver probably had a lot of trouble with the F1 car (hence the lack of footage.) There is another video with Hamilton on youtube somewhere where they showed a lot of lap footage (and compared lap times), that one is better than this one.

    • @nathanfaith8973
      @nathanfaith8973 5 лет назад +8

      Jimmie and Fernando both done really well. Alonso spun around once, under acceleration, off a slow corner and that was it. I don't believe Jimmie had any issues. Both ran solid times, for never being in the others cars. And yes, the swap between Lewis Hamilton and Tony Stewart was much better. It was televised, hence the amount of footage versus this. Lap times weren't really relevant in that one at all, because the track was drying as both were switching cars.

    • @cnking27

    Everyone throwing jabs at the cup car it takes a driver with real skill to drive a race car that constantly changes throughout a race . Car has entirely too much horsepower for the grip level.. no matter how boring NASCAR can be to watch it's a chess game against the vehicle itself ....constantly working on that car throughout a race day to make it better to make it faster... On top of that sitting in a car for three to five hours in intense Heat. I think people should give NASCAR a little bit more respect
