I have discovered the fun of making your own pastels - just pure pigments, bit of binder and filler, and some manual labor, and created over 350 half sticks so far... It's so wonderful to see the colors come to life. But, that's also what made me stuck - I'm kind of procrastinating by making the pastels I was missing, almost afraid now to pick them up and paint...
I'll take your advice, pick up some old painting of mine, and do it again - now that I have all the shades and tints that I was missing back then, will it turn out better or worse?... Don't really care, as long as it will be fun!

i love the song choice for your intro and the expression on your face at the end. it is always a pleasant beginning to these videos. i have such a specific vision i want out that having to learn how to get close to it is hard. so my strugglebus is feeling like i am just not an artist.
Being an artist means seeing the gap of where you are and where you want to be. Keep painting and don't give up! :)

Such a profound message for me! Also, do you have any tips for someone going through a very depressing and stressful circumstance how to at least pick up a pencil and do some sketching? I'm really struggling with this 😪
Find what fills you. it's hard to create when your well is dry. Fill the well and art will overflow.
