- I wanted to take a peek into a Post- Apocalyptic survival game that has been mentioned to me over and over again. At first I really didn't expect much but I was very surprised by what we had in this Demo!

VEIN is a post-apocalyptic survival multiplayer sandbox game.
In the near future, the apocalypse has occurred: hostile zombies roam the Earth, most people have died, and society has collapsed. You are a survivor.
Gather supplies to survive, explore abandoned buildings, combat bandits, defend your home, and rebuild society with friends.

Ever since I was very young I have always loved the way deer move, the way they kind of leap and bound with each stride and how graceful they look when they jump a hedge row or fence line. There's a ton of deer where I grew up so whenever I saw one I enjoyed just standing there for a moment and watching them run away. They actually captured that movement quite well, as far as I can tell from that 1 or 2 seconds he was moving across your screen anyway. They could dial it in a bit more but at this stage of development it looked quite nice! It really bothers me when devs make deer run like a damned horse or something lol
Like I mentioned I was really surprised by what I saw too. I expected it to be really bare bones but it was nice to see the potential
I like how they move too. Especially when they don't suicide themselves in front of my car.
@@srtmetal7647 yeah now that you mention it they do piss me off from time to time as well lol. I don't know why they feel the need to stare at your headlights and wait until the last second and THEN jump out in front of you, why can't they ever just run the other way? 😆

@@Baconator5642 I was talking about the direction they always choose to run after they freeze. Some are smart and run the opposite direction but the majority of them will run directly into the path of your vehicle.
Id love to see where this game goes. I am hopeful they continue to expand upon this. Good stuff really. The zombie genre will "never die"
Interesting to know that in the event of an apocalypse foster would just become a porch pirate, fighting through the streets just to see what’s in his neighbors Amazon package
The class list kind of reminds me of Project Zomboid. Really the whole searching makes me think that too. I mean, a first/third person PZ would be amazing to me. I might have to try out the demo. It says it is supposed to end up being a multiplayer only game but I hope it can be played offline too.
Thought I might search the comments, I knew someone else woulda picked up on the skills/traits 😄

@@thefoosterchannel It's definitely worth looking i to it. Not the style I've seen you play before, but not really far off. It's very in depth details wise, but not graphically the best. But tbf, it's the replayability & details are what makes it so good! There's also a massive modding community too if your into that sorta thing 👍

Yeah definitely they got inspired by PZ. Breaking glass, clearing glass, shop alarms, class/skill system, health/first aid, all random inventory stuff you can find etc all scream PZ to me :)
And its a good thing they did, PZ is a great game.
I just dont like their Zombie models. They look too ... alien to me ?
It would be more horrifying if they looked more human.

I would like to see a zombie game happening right during the outbreak so nothing is looted but chaos everywhere.
I always wondered that too! At the moment of the chaos happening is when you are thrown into the game and then as time passes you slowly grow older with the events of the apocalypse. Could be cool!

This reminds me of a 3D version of Zomboid, which is a 2.5D (isometric) version of Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, (Free 2D turned based). I highly recommend trying either of the above mentioned games. I personally think you would love CDDA.

A few people have mentioned PZ and the similarities this has which I would think is a compliment. Gotta get that broth while you can in the apocalypse Zero 😀

The main thing i love about this game, is you can interacy with literally everything. and most survival games dont allow you to interact with everything

8:48 I can't be the only one who thought when you hear the TV broadcast that it sounded almost exactly like a very well known 40 foot tall monster, I honestly thought that Siren Head was in this game for a second
Thats where the sound comes from. That weird blaring noise is from the emergency broadcast.
I thought the exact same thing. Every time I hear that sound I think of it.

That's a noise we hear regularly in the States. It's unnerving. But they always test the sirens on the first Saturday of the month here, and they're always doing "emergency broadcast tests" in the Tele, which is identical to what you heard in game.
@@missdire Yeah as a little kid it scared the shit out of me. And it's still unnerving even today. Whoever made the concept for siren head to have that as his audio is a genius.
This has huge potential if they can get more people on board with funding. Unfortunately all of these kinds of games usually die off because people lose interest or there isn't enough content fast enough. Mist is also an amazing and ambitious game but I'm sure it's going to be in development for multiple more years. Same with 7 days to die. In my opinion the best thing you can do for your game is stay in contact with your players, release consistent updates, respond and implement feedback, and add modding support as soon as possible. Mods will keep your game alive while you take your time to develop it further. Also a lot of the time modders will offer their services or mods to be added to the game which is awesome! This is on my wishlist, along with about 10 others similar haha. I'm getting a new gpu soon so hopefully I'll be able to play all of these early access games at 4k! This could be incredibly interesting. It's also a little unnerving because I grew up in a town called Redford. Ha! Also, 58°F is about 14°C. 😊 And the medication you got from the package was for, uh... erectile dysfunction. 😅 All of those stimulating energy drinks and some ED pills... what have you got planned for the apocalypse? Lol.

Some of those Zombies are also in several 7 days to die mods. I'm sure that they are either stock or purchased from the game engines asset store. Can't wait to see what they do with this game!
I noticed that too. I thought it was interesting to see them walk differently in this game. i noticed both male and female 'former gangster' and 'failed prepper' as they are named in darkness falls.

Graphics are nice and I definitely like the interactivity features.

*I would like to see another video of this game. I mean it's nothing all that unique, but it's your style and you do well with entertaining us with this style of survival game. I would like to see you do a series of the DayZ standalone game with a couple of your friends building bases, scavenging, raiding, surviving against the dead and against other players. I would like to see your adventures on it.*
I have wanted to jump back into DayZ for a long time but I also dont want to do the standard thing where you spawn in find a weapon and then it turns into walking/running sim for the next 8-10 hours. If there was a good server that looked interesting OR if I was to record a bunch of stuff over the course of a couple of weeks or a month... we will see :)

This game is a cross of Project Zomboid, Mist, and 7DTD and it's extremely awesome. Keep up the fantastic work Devs and amazing video as always Fooster.
This game is kinda the same as the infected or mist (as in, the concept of the game is the same). I'd love a survival game that has a different theme to it or a storyline (like the forest for eg with the whole "i need to find my kid" thing).
The graphics of this game are great, they've obviously put a lot of thought into it, and am sure there's much more yet to come. I hope you'll do a longer series of this once it has more things to offer :)

Sadly Mist had potential till he completely scraped it and started all over. Now it has more bugs.

The game has a lot of potential for sure but I agree having something unique gives it that extra special factor
@@thefoosterchannel i'm in the Mist community you use to build huge bases and barely have bugs. now with the new map and a whole new change to the game people can barely build a base without it lagging. floating objects house a foot off the ground. out house or houses being doubled so you can't get the upgrade bag. join the Fb mist community they can give you a list of bugs they have now compared to the first version of the game. people bought the game when the first version came out then the developer completely changed it.
Definitely would look forward to seeing you play this game again. Zombie apocalypse games like this are so enjoyable to watch
I'm a big Dayz guy. This has potential to make me switch. I love the interaction with what makes sense. The building is desired. Didnt cover it in this video but it has features to build doors, Fence, gates, windows etc. That I would love to see in dayz... which has been in development for 10 years!

Hey Fooster! Whenever you enter a house and go into the kitchen search all the cupboards and drawers. You can find pans and cook for yourself in the kitchen

The movie Dawn of the Dead the survivors took over a huge indoor mall and blocked all the entrances with tractor trailers. Great movie back in '78. There was also a remake in 2004.

This game looks excellent, for just an early access demo, I think the graphics are superb! They need to work on the movement of dynamic lighting a little bit, (light cast through windows not smooth) fix a few glitches, but overall, I really like the direction that they are going with this game, and I really hope to see more!

Vein is amazing so far I really hope it gets developed into a full game. It's like a first person project zomboid. Love how you can pick up almost anything and killing zombies with a keyboard is so much fun.

This reminded me super early project zomboid but first person and that’s everything I want and need in a zombie game
theres no lactose in beer, dairy is what causes a problem. its listed as multiplayer! would love something to play with friends like the forest again. looks like a combo of project zomboid with mist survival visuals (also looks like its more graphically optimized that mist survival), love how random the looting is!

I really hope, they give you something meaningful to do, instead of just walking around and looting. Many survival games get started and never finished, because it's really difficult to do. I definitely believe this game has a good amount of potential, and I like what I've seen in this video. Last night I downloaded Vein to try out for myself and showcase a bit on my channel as well as I believe it definitely deserves more attention, and I intend to make multiple videos focusing on different aspects of this demo, trying various different things. I really hope these guys are able to succeed in their efforts to make this game everything the desire, and so much more.
Oh that unboxing thrill... I just got a PC and have 2 1440p monitors on the way. Haven't had a gaming PC since Battlefield Vietnam. The unboxing excitement is high!!

Oh that's great, so your character used to be a package thief! That's great, I like how it gives you certain inventory items for what background you picked.
My thoughts is if the devs are serious about this game and keep up with it keep polishing it keep updating it it's going to be a great game but from my experience of watching you some just don't do that they just give up, but if they keep going with this I would love to see more it looks very interesting right up your alley and pretty much all of ours
🤩OMG this is AMAZING!!! I wish there were more games like this! Zombie and other💯 This is like the beginnings of a complete player fantasy zombie game! Full open world, everything is interactable. It does obviously have tons of similarities to Project Zomboid, but the aesthetic is so different, you can appreciate both as different games. This is just fantastic! Thanks for the introduction to the game development. Also new viewer here, I think this is the 3rd video of yours I've watched recently💖

Looks like a fun game. Would be interesting to see how they develop it as time goes on (if they decide to limit interaction, etc. in the future). There are a decent amount of zombie survival games already and hopefully this one will leave its mark.

I saw that a while back but it looked really strange (probably because it was very early in development). I saw a little clip of it the other day and it looked awesome so hopefully thats another cool surprise waiting around the corner!

Big potential in my opinion. I just started playing it. I play a lot of survival games, and this looks pretty good as a demo.
This looks pretty promising. If they can deliver on all the potential, then it could be a great game.
