Just relentless. I love seeing these dudes just lay it down and put in some work for a solid 2 + hours. It is hefty, but so rewarding. Thank you, Spafford. Cannot wait to see you all over New Years.
@@joshspurgeon5288you said all that about jamming long but not jamming "good" and then compared them to phish 🤦 the band famous for awful long winded noodle nothingness. Like if you had named any single other band I would have respected your opinion with a statement like that but phish? Bro the drugs don't even make phish good
@@charlesmcclure8000 Really? Phish is absolutely far superior to Spafford. Not only are they the introducer of type 2 jamming they revolutionized the "festivals" and not to mention started the trend of going to Mexico for a mini festival. Spafford is good don't get me wrong but they can learn a lot from Phish as Phish learned a great deal from Grateful Dead. And to say that drugs can't even make Phish good is saying a lot especially when Spafford goes for 40+ mins. You don't have to "like" Phish but at least give them there respect they deserve. Why do you think alot of these jambands got there inspiration from huh.
okay 5 minutes in and you're already playing Phish (The Curtain). Have you guys ever considered listening to like Alice Coltrane? or Magma? or Nucleus? or Soft Machine? or Jon Hassell? Or like any music that isn't a jamband? You have chops and decent feel but your musicology is so dang limited. Keep working at it though.
picking out a 20 second section of an hour and 45 minute jam that perhaps pulls energy from a Phish tune and ripping the band for it... ummm, OK. what is the "dang limited" jam they are riffing on just a few seconds later? Oh, that would be It's a Bunch, a Spafford song. Show me a 105 minute Phish jam that doesn't pull from other bands. This would be hard to do as I don't know of a 105 minute Phish jam. I love Phish to death (my favorite band over my last 20 years) and I love Spafford to death. Each their own animal, entirely. for my ears, Spafford pulls from many influences (Phish, Dead, Disco Biscuits certainly notable) but they are always very much their own thing. If your gripe is simply that Phish has infuenced them greatly, then so be it. I never feel like I am hearing a cover band. Spafford is it's own strange, beautiful creature. See a full live show of theirs, I doubt you'd leave with any other impression. These guys absolutely crush it and pour their souls into it. They aren't for everyone. I don't know of a jam band that is.
Spafford has incredibly diverse taste and influences. From pop, to alternative, to classic rock, to jazz, to funk, to electronic, to etc. You'll hear it in their jams, cover selections, and originals.
first hearing this October 2023! I need more like this in my life and the world will be so much better than blissful! what a wonderful gift 😂❤

what the world needs now, is 4th tier drugbands, sweet 4th tier drugbands
Thank you guys for the absolutely wonderful energy!
amazing. on repeat today!
Hands down the hottest jam band out right now.
My favorite piece of music on camera from the best band in the land, edging out the Echo Sessions. So fucking good, it is ridiculous!

It gets better with every listen. Wow. What a session.
Can't wait to see this band again and get my boogie on! SPAFFORD ROCKS!
Just powered on the tubes, get the rig nice and warm for the festivities. Best jam band on the planet in 2019-20 in my eyes!
It’s been Spafford and goose for me lately
There good but they have a long ways to go upstage Phish....just because they jam long doesn't always constitute a good/great jam.
